No cleaning jobs? They are usually the worst. I did cinema cleaning once, it had its perks, you wouldn't believe how much money is left behind. And its horrors, like used needles hidden under chairs, dirty diapers, tampons and used condoms in the back, just think of that next time you take your kids to a movie there could be people humping or shooting up in the rows behind you. Its also good advice not to stick your hands around blindly under your seat if you drop something, go get the staff to shine a light there, aside from the already mentioned stuff there could be broken glass or sharp metal bits on the seat and the carpet is clean only from debris its still loaded with tracked in crap and bacteria.
WtfIsThisEven Eww... Well that is a lesson learned. I have a torch with me at all times thanks to jobs that involved the dark in one way or another, that and a multitool are essential, everyone should carry one.
I used to help my mother clean office buildings when I was a teenager. 95% of the time it was fine. Empty trash, mop, whatever. The worst though was the boys bathroom at a Sylvan Learning Center. It was like the boys were playing a game of who can pee highest on the wall. The bathroom smelled so badly of urine despite deep cleaning that we had to clean it wearing masks. The amount of pee was so bad that the office building had to replace the grout and tiles because it was so corroding.
Being a cashier fucking sucks, people will get angry because their credit card will get declined, gets something for two dollars and pays with a 100 dollar bill, "if it does not scan it means its free" bullshit, and that person who decides to shop around when its about to close.
When I was 16 I remember going to every local business and every single of of them required you be at least 18. Now that I'm 18 I realize it was just because there were no jobs.
Tyler Farr's lead guitarist (country band. My two coworkers and I love country music.) came into our store once because he was playing a concert near by. After buying some things, he gave three tickets to another one of his concerts to us, the employees. We were so happy to have them and were stoked to go. They were all $600 VIP tickets to Stagecoach (one of the biggest country music festivals in the US. All of the big name artists would be there. It was a sold out show). Our boss heard about it and took them from us, realized he didn't like country music, and gave them away to his friend. We, the employees, never got to enjoy the concert that we were invited to and would actually enjoy. I'm still bitter about this.
You shouldn't have gave them to him. I would have been like, "He gave these to us for helping him. Did you help him with anything special he didn't mention to us?" Or make up some lie about our names already on the list. Maybe he would have been understanding that they we're his.
Had a job cleaning trains once. While we were cleaning, the engineers used to do repairs and run tests on the train. One day I was cleaning the toilet (Not a nice job as you can imagine) and they killed the power to the train! The lights went out and the electronic door wouldn't open! I was stuck in a pitch black train toilet for almost an hour!
Grocery store is the absolute worst place to work. I started my first job at one when I was 14 and it was fucking teerrrrrible. People literally don't give a shit about you and you can feel them judging. It was God-awful.
When I was 14, I was doing construction in red-lined neighborhoods within the ghetto alongside delinquents and young gang members. There were certain cliques/gangs which were mostly characterized by race, and at the time, I was a short and scrawny Asian nerd, the youngest in my group, had asthma and Arterial Pulmonary Hypertension (basically breathing is difficult), and I was most likely the wealthiest as well. And trust me, those characteristics didn't really help me fit in my situation AT ALL. So obviously, I was constantly harassed, judged, and bullied. It was a Summer job so we worked In the sweltering afternoon sun. And on top of that, I got paid 5$/hr (illegal and under minimum wage) but at least I had a job, and I got really buff. Now, ever since I turned 15 (16 now), I've been working at an intermediate care facility for the mentally and physically disabled where I CLEAN PEOPLE'S DIAPERS AND EXCREMENT, shower them, feed them, and everything else a mentally/physically disabled person would need In a regular daily life. I get paid 8$/hr to do it for 6-8 residents daily, and I do this all alongside schoolwork. You I'm only replying to you because I find it funny when people claim jobs at places like grocery stores are the worst places to work because supposedly "people don't give a shit about you, and you can feel them judging" you could only imagine all the little stories I have working at these places, many of which are quite horrible/ uncomfortable. I know you meant no harm, just a FYI y'know?
Really?! Will it make someone like you smile if a customer talks to you asks you if you're feeling okay? See I kinda want to make friends with someone working in 7and i 711, so far I only asked if she's doing fine. Now im so shy to go back! Hehe would it be creepy if a customer like me asks you out? Check my channel to see if you'd go out with someone like me hehe
How did you get a job at 14? And yes my boyfriend stocks at Winn Dixie and they overwork him even though he works part time and they don't even pay him all of his money. He also works with a racist guy.
Worst job for me was working at Chipotle. For once, the customers weren't the problem, it was the people I worked with and the strain of the actual job. I hated everything about it and went home crying every day. And when I put in my two week's notice, they told me two days later that I was being let go because I "didn't meet Chipotle's standards." Yeah, the standard to be a mindless, smiling robot and conform to all of their stupid fucking rules. Chipotle, I THANK you for firing me.
My first job after high school was Church's Chicken. I felt the exact same way, vowing that unless I am about to become homeless (and even then, I can be resourceful), I refuse to ever work at another fast food restaurant again.
***** That's funny because I applied there and got an interview, but they told me that I don't have "the feeling" of a laid back Chipotle employee. What's even funnier is that they lost my application but knew I had an interview so they just wrote my info on a napkin during all of it and still hired this other dipshit who would talk about how he has really bad gas while rolling up your burrito. Wtf bruh
When I interviewed for a boring office job, I wanted to impress people so I told everyone I could speak Finnish. One day, a Finnish person came in and everyone expected to me to translate... Let's just say I lost that job pretty quickly.
Sometimes I think when they gather everybody up they would yell like: "ANYONE WHO HAD AN BAD EXPERIENCE AT A JOB COME OVER HERE WERE GONNA FILM A VIDEO"
I worked at Dollar Tree for two years and a homeless man who smelled like road kill would come in during the night shift and piss in the vases on the candle aisle.
Worst job ever- being a student. You have to pay money instead of getting money, study and do stupid projects. Also, you have to put up with your professors and co-workers (students) aeven tough you probably hate them.
Being a student is'nt a job, you can drop out and get a full time job whenever you want. Or you could count your blessings that your in a position to be able to study so that when you are properly obliged to join the rat race you'll have a better choice of careers. Bit of advance warning...you will still have to put up with your boss (who you may not like) and co-workers.
Actually guys, I didn't say anything about the fact that you can't help anyone. My family struggles with money, and I can't help them, so I hate to watch it knowing that I only waste mont, and I can't help because I can't earn money.
As a fellow student, I wouldn't say its the worst job ever, but it sure is hard. You have to pay for everything in college and nothings cheap with the nation student debt at $1 trillion! And I understand about not wanting to be a burden. Also lets not talk about the actual course work and trying to make sure you have balance in your life. Its a tough 4+ years but hopefully it'll be worth it in the end! :)
I used to work at a Stell Mill cleaning Dust, and in a Steel Mill there was alot of dust. But I worked with convicted Fellons, why I took the job was due to the lack there of in my area outside service and mall. The worst part was I would work 12 hrs being high up6-7 stories tied off, tired as hell and never get any slack. It was very hazardous to my health, and as a Veteran I would rather go back to the Army, it was that bad. Never again.
There it is, I was waiting for somebody to bring up factory work. I worked in a factory for a couple of summers and it's one thing for a job to suck, but when the job takes away from your health, that's a whole other level of shit-work. I'm glad I don't have to work there anymore
You don't know what a worst job is until you're a student nurse wiping butts smeared with crap and being around the smell of urine for hours upon hours a day.
CNA--Certified Nursing Assistant. Or, as my mother would call it (who did the job for eight years! "Cleaning Nasty Asses", lol. She knew what she was getting into though, and is now an RN and is in school once more to finally become an LPN.
My worst job was a paid internship I had during my senior year of high school. Initially, we had been asked to fill out a form about what careers we were interested in. At the time, I had wanted to be a veterinarian, but the closest the form had was health care. I selected that, but in a section to provide more information, I filled in specifically what I was looking for. To my understanding, we were going to be partnering with professionals in the field that we were interested in, which would've been amazing! We went through multiple workshops on how to do interviews, dress, ect...all for the day of the interview to come and for us to find out that ALL of us that had registered would be doing the exact same thing. Teaching food and nutrition to younger people. I'm overweight. And an introvert. And I dislike kids. Everything pointed to why I should not take the job, but...I didn't want to be close-minded and it was paid. I had just gotten my first cell phone and wanted to pay for it myself. We were given a partner and each Friday, we didn't go to school, instead going to the other school to teach. My partner and I were given the task of teaching 7th and 8th graders. I thought this would be fine, as they're older and I wouldn't have to oversimplify things. Riiiiiight. That first day was a mess. In fact, the entire thing was a mess, but that first day just set the precedent. We were supposed to catch a school bus in our neighborhood that went to the school we were to each at, showing an authorized form to the bus driver. My partner's bus driver refused to let him on and thus, I was at the school by myself, frantically waiting for him, wanting to bail, but not even having transportation to do that. I finally sucked it up and decided to keep it brief, explaining what I was teaching and that this wasn't going to be to judge anyone. Fat lot of good that did, as I could still see the discreet glances the other students gave to the bigger kids. I tried to use myself as an example, that while I wasn't in shape either, I too was learning about better nutrition. Which, if nothing else, I did. My partner was finally able to join me the next week but for some reason, he was never respected. He...he was a push-over. Way too nice. Sadly, this is also what made me have a crush on him (even before the internship. Liking someone and then finding out things like you share the same bus stop after moving to another part of the city, share at least one class together, a class that didn't have a lot of people, and that we had the same last name too. You'd think someone was trying to give me a sign by the time we were partnered together. I even timidly asked them to prom...just as the starting bell rang, drowning out my squeaking voice. I never got the guts to ask him out again). Anyways. Since they never respected him and only kind of respected me, we were sort of sitting ducks. Multiple times, teachers would hear what we were doing when we took our lunches in the teacher's lounge, what class we were teaching next and would whisper to us ominously, "Good luck..." The teachers came to view the hour we were in their classroom as a much needed break...so many times I saw them sigh in absolute relief when we came in. I did feel bad for them. I don't mean to perpetuate the stereotype but some inner-city schools can be a bitch. I knew, I too was attending one and you'd think my school was a jungle of wild animals instead of an institution for learning (earlier that year, I was invited to meet Laura Bush ((setting aside my political views. You don't say no to opportunities like that)) who was visiting another public school for her foundation. It was an elementary school where the kids were so well-behaved, it made me want to cry with how savage in comparison my school was). But what I hated the most though was when the teachers would walk out when we came in! Don't leave me here with them!!! Because that's when shit would really hit the fan... The internship only ran from about March until the end of May, but it was cut short as we had to get ready for prom (which I did not attend) and graduation. I most certainly did not complain. My patience with kids pretty much plummeted there and is probably what made me come to the official decision that I want my tubes tied to be certain I don't have any.
I was a Taco Bell Cashier too! Worst customers ever but there are some extremely nice people but :/ I saw two little boys peeing on each other in the bathroom on my first day.. Stuff became worse like not getting paid for 1 month. I quit xD
My first job was in retail, at Sears as a cashier it started out fine but as the months went by the job became horrible. I was always constantly being written up by management because I wasn't conning customers to get a credit card. Next to that being horrible customers treated us so mean, like they treated us as if we were worthless. I've never felt so miserable in my life being somewhere, the only reason I stayed working there for almost a year was because I needed to save money since I was getting married. After working there for 7 months I was fed up and started to voice my opinion to all the managers on what they should be doing instead of being on their phones. Eventually they fired me funny thing is they fired me while I was on medical leave when my medical leave was up the managers were always "unavailable or busy" when I tried to get ahold of them I even went to the store in person, same result. Worst job ever, also to everyone never get a credit card with Sears or any place tied to Sears it's a scam let the company go bankrupt.
I have no worst job-story, actually. I have a first job-story, however. My first job was at a medium-sized post office and I loved it. I worked there for close to six years. But since I have Autism and a slight retardation, they didn't have to hire me nor pay me, but they got paid by the municipality (City Hall) for me being there. There are about 50 employees and they all knew I had my handicap and they all accepted me for who I am. The reason for me not working there anymore, is not because I quit nor got fired, but because I suffered a severe mental breakdown for personal reasons, during a work shift. But it wasn't due to work, it just happened to occur while working. I'm not allowed to come back, sadly, but it was a fantastic experience.
I worked at two fast food places, worst jobs ever! One of the two jobs was at a Wendys near my home and even though I am of a Hispanic background, I don't know Spanish, but my coworkers will say something cruel behind my back and think I wouldn't understand them, but it clearly obvious that they were making fun of me because they would look at me and laugh at me. They dramatized how I work, made it uncomfortable. Stayed there for a year. My other job was actually my very first job, fast food place, and how they set up things and do people's orders is completely confusing. I lasted two weeks, I couldn't take it.
My first job was working in a hospital in a little room that said "biohazard" everywhere. I had chopped up prostates in wax blocks and I had to file them in filing cabinets. Later I moved to California though and got a job at the Playboy Mansion so it was all good.
I worked at a grilled cheese place. My boss was so nice during training, then the restaurant opened and everything went downhill. This was my boss's first time working with teens (in his 16 years of running restaurants) and he didn't know how to handle himself. I'm very into dance competitions, so I could only work on the weekends I wasn't dancing. He got pissed because I was his go-to weekend person. He got very rude towards me and yelled at me for every mistake I made. I ended up getting fired in July because he expected me to have a clean schedule in the summer (even though during my interview I said I have dance all year round). He accused me of lying and wouldn't let me tell my side of the story. That place is going downhill so much, I'm surprised it's still open because that man doesn't have a good customer service bone in his body.
I've had two really bad jobs, both of them office positions. The first was bad because one of my co-workers had it out for me. She wanted her friend to get hired (a friend, I might add, who had been hired and fired twice already by this office). She made my life miserable, and the owners believed every word she said. The final straw was when she blamed me for broken merchandise while I was "retraining". Retaining, by the way, meant I was in the back room studying the handbook for my whole shift. Even though it made no sense for me to come out of the back room to check the one piece of merchandise that was broken, they believed that I did just that. So, I left. The other one, also an office position, was an office ran by a single family. My manager got to leave early or take like three hour lunches whenever she wanted, her kids invaded the office all the time (college age) and they always had their dogs hanging around. The owner was too much a coward to make her relatives work (the manager's long absences, the son (and heir) never coming in, etc) and would yell at me over everything as if I could change their habits. Manager didn't do her job and went to the spa? I got yelled at because no one was helping the owner. The heir let a huge deal slip through his fingers so he could hunt? Suddenly I'm responsible for that deal because the owner is convinced I let it slip through by not delivering a message (that didn't exist). I didn't get fired, since the owner knew she was yelling at me for things that weren't my fault, but I got out of there as soon as I could.
Worked as a supermarket cashier through high school and now in a Forever 21 while I'm in college. Trust me when I say the general public is horrible. Rude, demanding, disrespectful, and disgusting. A woman bled all over a pair of booty shorts and threw them at one of my coworkers, THEN CONTINUED TO SHOP.
I worked at a bookstore and my boss was this very loud, shade throwing, old gay guy. Very sexual harrassy. When doing my paperwork to become an employee of this bottom of the barrel company (seriously. It was listed the worst place to work for, he asked if I were a male or female. I said "Well, I'm a male. Like Gepetto made me." Then he made a comment about how I probably had a big.... Yup. At that point, I was going to walk, but I needed the job, and just wrote it off as whatever. I worked there for about four months of his snide comments, bashing my previous job, and pretty much lawsuit waiting to happen remarks before I finally said something to him to please stop since even though I'm not the most appropriate person in the world, he was going waaaay past the line. My hours went from about 36 a week to 12. Then there was the survey... Someone wrote a nasty survey about the hole and he then went and told everyone I wrote it because I was disgruntled with the company. I at that point threw my stupid apron at him and told him to shove his minimum wage job up his ass where I am sure many things had been, so I'm sure there was plenty of room.
My worst job was working in the mall at a market research company. I would have to walk around with a clipboard and ask people if they were interested in taking surveys, most of the time for movies. Sometimes the person would get paid, but the majority of the time (99%), they would not. People would see me walking towards them, and then suddenly walk off in another direction, or completely ignore you when you asked them to take a survey. It was the worst job ever, and I hated it!
Worst job I had... Office Depot. I'm pretty sure some of what they did to me was illegal or close to it. I suppose I should have noticed when I got hired on. The manager that interviewed me asked me to make fun of my supervisor by putting tape on my ear because apparently he has a condition sometimes where his ear leaks. I put the tape on but made sure that only the manager saw me do it, and the took it off before my supervisor could notice. Pretty sure if I hadn't done it, I wouldn't have gotten the job. Another thing they did was make me work 16 hours straight once. Well sorta. They let me "go home" for half an hour (I can't even make it home in that amount of time) before my next shift started. That really sucked. Another time, we didn't have enough cash in the register and one of the managers (head supervisor, assistant manager? not sure) told me to pay it out of my own wallet, which I did. Think it was about 17 dollars if I remember correctly. This all happened a long time ago now, but it still stands out as the worst job ever.
At my work (which I generally enjoy), one time some middle age guy told me something like, 'I can see the innocence in your eyes.' It was just really creepy. He talked to me a lot longer, than necessary, I needed to pack his food. One other guy told me he'd like to see me in a dark room O_O. Why do some guys have to be so creepy? And these were all between the ages of me being 18 and 20...
If you say so, I don't think I have a particularly nice body though. It may have just been locked I a room with you, it's been a while. And no, I'd rather not be complimented at all if that is the sort of 'compliment' I receive.
Obviously you've never worked a fitting room; horror stories there. Hell, I haven't but I've worked customer service, where the angry people go. And I've cleaned up puke, human twice and puppy once; preferred the puppy because at least it was in chunks. You wouldn't believe how many people will still walk through it because they aren't paying attention.
I worked at a temp job at a big multinational company. I was a subcontractor, a contractor under a contractor. We got paid every two weeks with a check mailed to us on Friday and we didn't get our checks until Monday. They swore off direct deposit saying it was too much of an expense. We also had a really strict boss, who would fire at least one person per week and each week we found out who got kicked off the "island" so to speak. I got fired a few months later and it was such a relief.
My first job was sorting pipe organ pipes in this huge warehouse in the middle of summer. The pipes were all dusty and had to be carefully arranged, packed up, and shipped out to customers who needed replacement pipes for their pipe organs. It wasn't a terrible job because my friend was with me, but it was miserably hot and definitely strange. People would ask what I did for a job and it was both cool and embarrassing.
My worst job story - I worked at a grocery store and after the store closed, the whole grocery department had to stock and organize the isles. I was talking to my co workers and explaining what mosh pit ninjas were. They were confused so I gave them an example, I started flailing my arms and legs around, all of my coworkers immediately ignored me and faced forward. I was like wtf? I turned around and realized my boss was passing by. He didn't say anything, I didn't say anything and we engaged in eye contact. I quit the job a couple weeks after.
Unpaid internship for a posh clothing store in marketing that was an 1 and 1/2 commute. It was in a warehouse with barely enough tables for everyone, and I learn on my first day that I'm supposed to bring my own laptop. I borrow the person who's mentoring me and she nearly fries the computer when she spilled water over the table. I took it as a sign from a higher power that this was just not meant to be and sent an email of resignation that night. Thankfully I still had my grocery job which I've been working at for seven years until the end of this July when I'll be moving to San Francisco to get my MA.
I worked with a pet shop as an animal handler for children's birthday parties. Imagine being surrounded by dozens of squealing 5-year-olds while trying to hang on to a terrified ferret. Yeah...
I don't understand how people can go through so many jobs so quickly. I have been working for six years (I'm 22) and I've had three jobs, two of which I received more than two promotions. Just have a good work ethic and put in effort and you'll likely succeed.
You make a great point. Finding something you like is extremely important. I have not liked any of the three jobs I have had thus far, but the reasons for changing jobs goes beyond just not liking them. Distance, pay, respect issues, etc have all factored in (which could be true for these people as well, but I doubt it in some cases). The two jobs where I received promotions were management positions, one for retail and one for quick service, and I can tell you that the people I had working for me for both jobs were absolutely terrible employees.
***** I agree with you but most of these jobs they are talking about were teenage to probably when they graduated college so it doesn't really matter how many they have had. I agree I've been working paid for 2 years and have received a promotion. hard work pays off.
Many people gets a part time job or just a job not because they enjoy them. They mostly get a job because they need some spending money or just need money to pay their bills. Also most people now a days are too focus on how much a job pays instead of finding a career that would make them happy. I have met many people turning down a great career opportunity just because the entry levels position doesn't pay as much as their old retail, or restaurant jobs. Also a lot of workers now a days are also self entitled and lack work ethics. They felt like they should be paid a certain amount of money even if they lack experiences or skills. Same with people who choose a college major hoping to make big bucks but they aren't even passionate about their career. I have meet many nurses who became nurses because they assume it would just pays well but they aren't really people person or like being a nurses.
I'm 19 and have gone through 4 jobs so far in the past 2 years only to find myself miserable at all of them . As most of my friends are the same so it is quite easy to go through jobs fast especially when you need money and you haven't found one you enjoy.
Worst job was working as a neurosurgeon. I hate the sight of blood and I'm extremely clumsy with the cranial drill. Must've killed at least 100 patients during my three-year stint. Sheesh, what a nightmare! Glad I'm no longer at that job.
I just quit what might just be the worst job I'll ever work two days ago and this video has really helped me feel better about the decision. As for my work story, I've gotten written up for: 1. Wearing my white uniform shirt that happened to be like 1 shade of grey away from pure marble white, 2. Not making Italian dressing when we ran out because no one told me we switched from buying the gallon jugs to making it ourselves, and 3. There were two stained coffee mugs set out during my shift, even though the shift before me was the one responsible for cleaning them.
I moonlight as a bouncer for mostly live music venues, we were hired to do security for a Ballroom dancing contest. Seems easy right? well a 65 year old phillipino lady took a big interest in me. She followed me around all night telling me how her husband cant get it up anymore and was quite descriptive on what she would like to do to me and my young body. It got very uncomfortable, she even brushed against my crotch a few times with her hand always on the sly and acting as if it was a accident ... finally a very drunk old man stood up on a table and it broke, needing a 911 call, which got me away from her. I got home that night and found a napkin in my pocket with her name number on it...
I've never had a "bad job" per se, but I've had to deal with boring co-workers and rude ass customers. I worked at an art exhibition when I was 15, and a woman came up to me (I was alone in a shed, don't ask..) and blocked off the entrance, whilst screaming and being very physical and violent. I was freaking out but luckily my supervisor came just in time and told her to leave. People are assholes *sigh*
Worst job hands down was in college (the hours were the only that worked with my school schedule and I really needed the money is all I can say) but let' see: during my illustrious tenure there, my first boss quit after winning a case in court about the companies racist practices of underpaying only their minority employees (we later all got raises or shall I say, equal pay) but the company then accused everyone in our store of theft (odd?) and then when we insisted on them installing security cameras and hiring security guards b/c we were innocent and had a lot of customer theft which we'd documented and reported to them for months prior to any of this due to lack of security and lack of staff, they declined (also odd) and they just dropped it making no apologies. Then one of the employees had an abusive boyfriend who started to stalk the store first, and then all of us employees almost every day looking for his girlfriend even when she wasn't on the schedule. He then lost his mind, and came into the store and chased her and the customers around with a crowbar and later beat her so bad she didn't show up for 3 weeks. Then my third boss got into a fight with a customer and was fired/quit. Then finally the moment where I finally said F this job, I'm out....the store was held up at gunpoint on my shift by 3 guys, several customers were beaten, and the crooks got away with the money. I literally gave the police my information and my account of what happened, got my bag, and never came back and have never been back since I left.
I was a file clerk for 3 days at a local hospital. It was so boring, but I quit when I was almost crushed between rolling shelves. There were no safety measures and it would have seriously injured me.
I worked at hungry jacks. I hated it so much. One day i burst into tears while serving customers at the till. To make it worse, the state manager came in that day and yelled at me for crying.
My worst job? Getting my check on payday and not being able to cash/deposit it because there wasn't enough money in the company to cover payroll. This happened almost every pay period.
I'm 18 and currently work at Hot Dog on a Stick! How could she not have loved it!? My coworkers are seriously the best people you could find and make my work 100x easier!
Working in fast food is awful. As much as people tell you otherwise (which is probably a lie), it is awful. Only consider working in fast food if it is your last option. You will not be looked at as a human being, and people only eat at fast food places because they want immediate satisfaction. With that being said, if you mess up their order (miss an item, make something wrong, forget condiments, etc), or take too long, they get angry quickly and some are not afraid to express it publicly.
i was working at an Italian style buffet, and i was in the back room, and this baby made the biggest mess i have ever seen a baby make! spaghetti noodles and vegetables all over the floor, spaghetti sauce all over the baby (some even got in the baby's hair. once the family left i had to clean it all up, and while i was cleaning i was just astonished at how such a small child could make such a BIG mess! i've seen babies drop bowls of food on the ground before, but that didn't even compare to the mess this baby made!
I worked at Walgreens and almost got shot in the face by an armed robber and then my boss immediately asked me if I understood that we lost money and asked me why i didn't do anything to stop him
My worst job story is back when i worked at an aquarium and at the end of the day we would have to go threw the bathrooms to make sure no one was hiding. so far i have been working there for about a year and never had a problem with getting people to leave. but this night i open the door to a horrible smell and as i open one of the stalls all i can see is shit on the toilet floor walls even the ceiling had some i kid you not i turned around to run out only to notice the mirror sink and door handle was covered in shit as well. i don't even under stand how someone does this but it happened. now i was trapped and it smelled so bad so i called it in and felt terrible for who ever had to help clean it up
I hated working at McDonald's personally. It was way too fast-paced. I was still new the day I quit on a day they were busy. I had to mop something up that someone's stupid-ass kid had spilled all over a table and the floor. I basically didn't know how to make mop water because I had no idea where any of the cleaning supplies were and just yeah. I told another employee I was quitting, told her to tell the manager, and I just walked out of that bitch. Just that one experience told me that working in any sort of restaurant is not for me. I don't do cleaning shit. Call me lazy, but that's just not for me.
Aww...I would've at least stuck it out for the other employees if they weren't troublesome. I worked at a Church's Chicken but this establishment had the manager and frycook being uncle and nephew and the two could barely stand each other. We were short staffed as is but imagine having to deal with them bickering every damn day. And then the nephew would get mad and storm off for a half hour or so. The manager would take over cooking, but that removed him from helping with other prep jobs, mainly biscuits (because those damn honey butter biscuits are half the reason people go there...and most times, the night staff didn't make any or make enough for us to start the day with, but will get upset if, during the shift change, we leave them with no pans of prepared biscuits...tch.) The amount of days I have stayed an hour, hour and a half past my shift multiple times just to help them out as the shift change can be quite hectic, one drawer being closed down as it's counted, meaning all orders, window and front counter, occur on the other drawer. Anywho...kind of digressed, lol. But yeah, since the dynamic with the manager and nephew was so volatile at times and the nephew would leave us scrambling, I wouldn't want to do that to my co-workers if I could help it. As for the manager firing the nephew, it makes it hard when the person also lives with you and has a criminal background that may hinder him from getting a job elsewhere. And that there, people, is why you don't hire family. I was eventually fired for being too slow (good riddance) but had that boy not been the manager's nephew, he would've been gone LONG ago. I only had worked there for a year, but they had been there longer than that.
My first and worst job was at a grocery store. I was a cashier. It sucked because the job is really exhausting and people treat cashiers like sh*t. And my bosses forgot to give me a break half the time.
My worst job was working as a soil sampler for an environmental company... out in the middle of nowhere by yourself in -40 stuffing frozen dirt into glass jars. Actually had some close calls where I was almost killed on that job a couple times thanks to a really unprofessional project manager.
I worked at a kids summer day camp for two years. My second year on the first week the camp was open during the 5-6th graders swim time there was a dead body found in the pond by one of the campers. Turns out he was an employee at the assisted living house across the pond from us.
I work as a cashier in retail and I thought it sucked. After reading these comments I realize I actually have it pretty easy except for the fact that I do have to deal with rude people. The supervisors are great and have not given me one single problem. I won't be having dinner on Thanksgiving with my family, however :(
Books-A-Million. Worst company ever. It doesn't matter how amazing, efficient, and friendly you are. If you don't sell the discount cards, you're useless. If you don't push the magazine trial on people, you get your hours cut. You could screw up the books and merch, never do the cleanup, and be incapable of making a decent pot of coffee, but if enough suckers go to your till and buy the stupid cards and try the magazines out, you will get promoted to be a crap manager. Then it's a vicious cycle of jerks
I'm currently a lifeguard at a rec center, and 2 weeks ago a mom yelled at because I told her son that he could not wear his goggles on the water slide. She went to go complain to my supervisor and he showed her that the rules for the slide specifically said that no one could wear goggles while on it.
My first job is auto body shop for expensive cars like R35's, BMW i's, Rolls Royce, Tesla. It's funny because I know more auto tech then body. I LOVE MY JOB. (I got it due to attending auto classes in high school and ask my teacher for a recommendation letter). I will never work at a retail store. If you want to work at a fun job, do/learn something you like doing, it won't even be considered being a job once you do, it would be considered "fun time". I did it and learned in school, you can too, trust me. If it isn't in your school find a weekend side-school near you.
I've only quit one job in my life. I was 16 and I was the only black person working in the grocery store and the supervisor would always give me the shitty, labor intensive work while everyone else was kicking back. I was there for four months before I quit to work at Golden Corral as a bus boy.
Right outta high school I worked for this old southern lady as a maid/personal assistant. She had probably 30 cats and this huge house that was so messy. It was stressful but I was there for 3 years so one day I didn't go and I haven't gone since and it's been like 3 months that I haven't gone back. And I love it. She had such a temper and was so racist.
My most horrible job was when I worked at Walmart as a manager for 3 god awfully long years...other than that was working at a movie theater. There were so many times they would schedule me to work by myself for 4 hours, and somehow manage to clean the big 300 seater theater when Happy Feet was showing. I think the worst part of is was I was in college at the time, and they would call me when they knew I was in class, so when I wouldn't show or tell them I wasn't going to leave school to come in they would write me up. I submitted my 2 week notification after 6 months and they denied it...firing me a couple days later for incompetency...ugh...
My first job was at 15 and it was at a Soccer Club Cafeteria. There were always hundreds of fries and nugget orders, soccer moms who always wanted to speak to the manager and the chef would play The Eagles Greatest Hits on repeat EVERY. SINGLE. SHIFT.
My first job was lifeguarding at a few apartment complexes, shittiest job ever. People expect you to babysit their kids and when you tell them they can't leave their brats there they get mad. Not only that, but the company I worked for made me work ILLEGAL overtime (I was under 18), and then refused to pay me for those hours because they'd get caught if they did. My mom wonders why I won't work for them again, that's why.
My worst job was working in the laundry of a mental institution. The worst was the sorting room where you would have to sort a pie of messed up sheets that reached the ceiling. Once I reached into a bin and got a catheter stuck on my arm!
Factory with heavy lifting and fast pace and a supervisor who would yell at you like a drill sergeant. Had one guy about 30 collapse with a heart attack while being yelled at and working to keep up with the machine. Insane boss who if machine shut down would say things like "Take those two stacks of garbage and make them the same height!". That is a quote from him. Worked in a hospital laundry washing up piss shit and vomit etc. but was heaven compared to that damn factory.
Cleaning windows was the worst job for me. Low pay and the dangers of doing it in NYC in those tall buildings with no benefits or safety equipment sucked
Everyone should be required to work at a fast food place, grocery store, or in retail for several months. Not sure how long before the mediocrity sets in. (What do you guys think?) Sure it's not *horrible* or difficult. It's just emotionally and mentally exhausting to work with the public. I honestly would give anything to stare at computer all day entering in figures. (EDIT: Only if I can make what I'm making now; with vacations, bonuses and benefits.) Things like call centers could count as well, although you're not physically working with the customers. There's also receptionists or anyone working at the front desk or ticket booth. Lot's of positions where people look down upon you.
I was very good at my job at Leslie's Pool Supplies. I worked the Mansfield, South Arlington, and Burleson stores in Texas but I absolutely hated dealing with customers. I'm telling you right now, never ever work at a swimming pool store. It will be the end of you.
On my first day at Tony Maroni's Pizza, I showed up expecting to work as a driver and the owner said that first, I would have to work for a week as "Slice Man" to only then, start as a driver. Yes, Slice Man was a fucking Pizza costume, a giant slice of pizza with a hole for your face, the only part you don't want to show while wearing a ridiculous costume. I turned around and walked away. And I remember driving back home and being very grateful for being able to make that choice, a lot of people can't afford to choose, they'll do whatever they have to do, because they really need.
Is it OK that I now have a huge crush on the "Hello Kitty" survivor? Why is he so handsome? Any man that survived that much, and is wise enough to say "Just don't get too handsy with Hello Kitty, or any mascot for that matter,", makes me want to marry him!
Well one day I woke up and said to myself, " I should get a job." Then I realized I'm lazy and I went back to sleep.
That was very necessary
Wow sounds oddly familiar
jamal jamalington sounds legit. Sucks to be a man :(
+jamal jamalington obvious troll is trolling
Sarahnessoyeah wat? lmfao, its *obvious troll is *obvious*
Last time I went to a theater I was looking for my keys that I dropped not paying attention I put my hand in a pile of throw up.
WtfIsThisEven
Eww... Well that is a lesson learned. I have a torch with me at all times thanks to jobs that involved the dark in one way or another, that and a multitool are essential, everyone should carry one.
okay thats awful
That's unbelievable. That's... that's insane.
Currently working at target, hate working here but I'm making $11.50/hour
Crispy Surf about 1500 dollars a month
Crispy Surf 11.50/hour?! what do you do at target?
fixieride12 help customers n stuff, restock/fix shelves, hang out in the backroom sometimes to talk to people.
Crispy Surf WTF I only made 7.50, but I worked in Food Ave. I actually think I deserved more for all the shit I had to do.
I'm still bitter about this.
that was so unfair and im sure the boss wasnt that stupid to misunderstand that the tickets were given to you, not to him!
You shouldn't have gave them to him. I would have been like, "He gave these to us for helping him. Did you help him with anything special he didn't mention to us?" Or make up some lie about our names already on the list. Maybe he would have been understanding that they we're his.
I'm angry for you man that fucking sucks. I would of quit tbh
+TeamSTOG That's terrible!
That had to be so scary for you.
8luvbug Not really scary, had my mates outside taking the piss, lol!
You
I'm only replying to you because I find it funny when people claim jobs at places like grocery stores are the worst places to work because supposedly "people don't give a shit about you, and you can feel them judging" you could only imagine all the little stories I have working at these places, many of which are quite horrible/ uncomfortable.
He also works with a racist guy.
i work at grocery stall and im 15 and its the best job
Weird because I feel like the grocery store employees judge the customers more than the other way around.
The guy with the large glasses looks like he's wearing those gag glasses with the big nose and moustache attached...
Chipotle, I THANK you for firing me.
very colorful confession i gotta admit.
My first job after high school was Church's Chicken. I felt the exact same way, vowing that unless I am about to become homeless (and even then, I can be resourceful), I refuse to ever work at another fast food restaurant again.
I always wanted to work at chipotle - thanks for saving me
Thy Golden Keeperz gotta set your standards a little higher little fella
You didn't even practice?
Haha greetings from Finland ;D
Madelyn Blake
You're an idiot.
Sometimes I think when they gather everybody up they would yell like:
"ANYONE WHO HAD AN BAD EXPERIENCE AT A JOB COME OVER HERE WERE GONNA FILM A VIDEO"
I worked at Dollar Tree for two years and a homeless man who smelled like road kill would come in during the night shift and piss in the vases on the candle aisle.
1:20 HOLY SHIT SPIDER DON'T PRETEND I DON'T SEE YOU
I thought it was an ant.
Sarah A That'd be a huge ant.
James Chong
DO YOU NOT SEE THE BEASTS LEGS MOVING AS IT CRAWLS ON THE INVINCIBLE WEB?! WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE.
its just lint lol
tay_5 AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!! X"D
I've done Retail and McDonald's worker. Soul-sapping jobs to say the least, people treat you like crap.
Actually u do get paid- u get paid education
What kind of nurse are you?
My first job was a Taco Bell cashier. Not as bad as you'd might think, but the customers were so terribly mean for no apparent reason.
That is any job. Get use to it.
fixieride12 You must not have had many jobs then, or just bad at the ones you DID have. No one needs your unnecessary rudeness either.
#Rye Ries aww the poor special snowflake feels that people are being rude to him. Aww :(
they're mean cos your the person standing between them and a beefy taco.
I was a Taco Bell Cashier too! Worst customers ever but there are some extremely nice people but :/ I saw two little boys peeing on each other in the bathroom on my first day.. Stuff became worse like not getting paid for 1 month. I quit xD
Worst part about having the sucky job is seeing people you know know, and thinking "don't notice me please"
Edward Sausagehands lol those aren't compliments
If you say so, I don't think I have a particularly nice body though. It may have just been locked I a room with you, it's been a while. And no, I'd rather not be complimented at all if that is the sort of 'compliment' I receive.
And I wear the most baggy ugly uniform, so even if my body was perfect, you would have to guess what it looks like under all that fabric.
Well this sounds like a "Life is Strange" Reference..
You don't know a worst job until you work in fast food. Retail is much easier..just go to college lol
Edward Sausagehands Too many children go through that nowadays :(
I can't even get a job here in Cali.. They're so lucky : /
When I used to be cashier at Toys R Us the managers would have me close the store by cleaning the men's urinals(shudders😷)
0:45 SHE SAID WHISK OML MY EARS WILL NEVER RECOVER
only phandom members will understand what I just said
WHISKers
+U_niet MineCraft noooooo!! You've ruined it!! Good tho 😂😂
I'm 17 and I've applied to everywhere. Still yet to hear back from one..
Yeah...
I'm sure someone has already said this......but I would love to watch Ashley use the lemonade pogo-stick that HDOAS forces upon their employees.
"Be shitty together" word to live by
I don't understand how people can go through so many jobs so quickly.
That guy need to shave his 80s porn star stash
I worked at Walgreens and almost got shot in the face by an armed robber and then my boss immediately asked me if I understood that we lost money and asked me why i didn't do anything to stop him
I always feel sorry for people in mascot costumes, especially when it's like +30 celcius outside and there are bratty kids around.
My worst job experience was to sit at a desk doing nothing. I got bored on the second day - so I quit, out of guilt.
My worst job story is back when i worked at an aquarium and at the end of the day we would have to go threw the bathrooms to make sure no one was hiding. so far i have been working there for about a year and never had a problem with getting people to leave. but this night i open the door to a horrible smell and as i open one of the stalls all i can see is shit on the toilet floor walls even the ceiling had some i kid you not i turned around to run out only to notice the mirror sink and door handle was covered in shit as well. i don't even under stand how someone does this but it happened. now i was trapped and it smelled so bad so i called it in and felt terrible for who ever had to help clean it up
quote of the day " Don't get too handsy with hello-kitty"
American eagle is by far the worst job to ever work at
Why?
My first and worst job was at a grocery store. I was a cashier. It sucked because the job is really exhausting and people treat cashiers like sh*t. And my bosses forgot to give me a break half the time.
My worst job was working as a soil sampler for an environmental company... out in the middle of nowhere by yourself in -40 stuffing frozen dirt into glass jars. Actually had some close calls where I was almost killed on that job a couple times thanks to a really unprofessional project manager.
LOL that green screen work though 0:50 through 1:01. Gotta have that even lighting BuzzFeed.
I won't be having dinner on Thanksgiving with my family, however :(
...I thought you said that you had to deal with nude people...
Manually detasseling corn was my first job when I was 13 and it still holds the record as worst job ever.
Realizing the customer has an issue. Dear God...
My first job was at 15 and it was at a Soccer Club Cafeteria. There were always hundreds of fries and nugget orders, soccer moms who always wanted to speak to the manager and the chef would play The Eagles Greatest Hits on repeat EVERY. SINGLE. SHIFT.
I died when she said "Batter up"
But seriously it made me cringe so hard I almost took a shotgun to the face
Seeing your profile pic tells me you went ahead and did anyways XD lol
hahahahaha, its just an affect. I dont want people looking at my face e.o
...I cleaned stalls at a barn, rain, snow, sunshine...
I was so distracted by the little piece of fluff floating around from 1:19-1:22 ...
Any job where you don't have to touch someone else's bodily fluids and/or trash is pretty great to start with. Mopping up vomit gets really old.
The fact that she worked at a friendlys! Yay!
Thank you! You make me feel better about some of my bad experiences.
(EDIT: Only if I can make what I'm making now; with vacations, bonuses and benefits.)
Things like call centers could count as well, although you're not physically working with the customers. There's also receptionists or anyone working at the front desk or ticket booth. Lot's of positions where people look down upon you.
I wonder what my future awful job's gonna be like.
I love this video cause it really sucks when you have a job you hate but there's nothing you can do about it.
I had a job that has all these beaten HANDS DOWN, but my story would be way too long for a two-minute video.
Sooo I'm a prostitute right..and this one time I got chlamydia😩 use protection y'all it ain't no joke
I love your vids!!! LOL!!
Nobody, 'cause working for Buzzfeed must be epic.
I worked at Forever 21, racist managers, rude customers, and general lack of organization in EVERYTHING they do. Oh yes, and the precision folding.
It's the novelty fake nose/mustache guy irl! Glasses and all!
Beauty of America! You can quit a job and have the confidence that you find a new one easily, even with very basic education levels...
Started working at 14, been at the same job for 12 very long years. :(
My first summer job was a security guard for this restaurant called Freddy fazbear's pizza...
"don't get handsy with hello kitty". omg! XD
Is it OK that I now have a huge crush on the "Hello Kitty" survivor? Why is he so handsome? Any man that survived that much, and is wise enough to say "Just don't get too handsy with Hello Kitty, or any mascot for that matter,", makes me want to marry him!
When I was 17 I got fired from Subway for putting too many pickles on a sub. Jokes on them, I was planning to quit in a week anyway.
