There is a product called Old English scratch cover. It comes in a dark and a light color, you can find it in a bottle where the cleaning products are in most hardware stores, it will cover that spot on your quilt rack and you won't even be able to see it! It works miracles. Love your choices, you had a productive haul.
I always love it when you take us vintage shopping with you! You are purchasing very intentional, as you said, and this makes it easier when we actually go shopping for thrift items for our own home, we , like yourself, try to think where we will use it. Much better than impulse buying!🤗
Snow! In Western North Carolina! Love it! It's beautiful! You have mention several times that people comment about the bottom of your mirror being flat with nothing under it! Easy fix! First measure the space, then look at your thrift stores for a large picture frame. You can hang a very large empty frame there and then hang a collection of smaller empty frames inside the larger frame. You can put art work in the smaller frames or leave them empty! You should have gotten the Fitz and Floyd fan dish and the blue and white Wedgewood plate!!
I, too, was going to say the picture is of Robert Redford, but lots of others beat me to it. He was always a favorite actor of mine. The quilt stand is very nice and I like that print of the children with the sleigh. You have one heck of a collection of vintage suitcases! Everything looks properly wintry, too. You've done a good job!
PS, Those sweet bears were saying..".take me home" I would have had to scoop them up. There was a lot of interesting finds in your stores this time around. Mine have gotten kind of barren now that the holidays are over.
@@loripowell7654 I have one of these bears, a little lady. Her pantaloons are made onto her and she has a dress with a apron that has little patches on it. She has A little house jacket on over the top part of the dress that has a little safety pin to fasten it. She has a couple tiny little silk flowers with pearls sewn by her ear. And she has A little pet sheep with her made from the same material! I thought that's what the bear was when i first saw it! Mines A little smaller tho, but i love her! You rarely see them in the wild, mine came from an estate sale.
My Gen X self was screaming that's Robert Redford and then I realized others recognized him too but I still had to say that's Robert Redford... just out of love and a childhood crush lol ❤❤❤😂😂😂
Danielle, you always find so many treasures. I was especially happy to see you got the tin for spring. I am in TX, on the east side, no snow here, just ice & mostly rain. May God fill your lives with many blessings❣️🙏
You always find such unique items. I had that same quilt rack you got. My husband who is like a bull in a china shop kept stubbing his toe on it so it had to go. I'm sure you won't have that problem😁
Сегодня были очень интересные вещи, особенно в начале видео. Каждая вещь настоящая, со своей загадочной историей. Много хорошего текстиля, требующего чистки, но в этом его шарм, он не фальшивый. ❤
I'm 31 years old. $18,700 weekly, and I'm retired. This video has inspired me greatly in many ways that I remember my past of how I struggled with many things in life to be where I am today!!!!
Lol - when you mention the comment about the blue couch reminding you of a 90s sitcom. When I had my first apartment back in the mid 90s, I did have a blue floral couch. When I moved into my condo, I got rid of that couch after about 10 years and had a custom-made couch also of blue fabric with a small pattern on it. I guess I’m just addicted to the 90s and the blue couches!😂 Also, I think the guy in the large photo button is Robert Redford, the actor, from some western movie!!
Hi Danielle and Jackson and Lincoln ❤ very nice trifting finds I really love ur winter decor so pretty differently the actor Robert Redford on ur pin great movie also with Paul Newman always Laura thank you for sharing ❤
Goodmorning! Never pass up an old quilt,if the price is right, because it smells. Oxi clean takes out smells beautifully. Hanging outside after washing helps too. If a quilt is to tattered I put it in the tub with Oxi clean, it works so well.
I was going to say the same thing, only I thought it was from the movie The Sting. I guess it shows our age, haha. Love your videos, hope you feel better.
I wish it was in the 50 and 60’s here. We got 5 inches of snow in my area of Va and temperatures down to 10 degrees. I think I’ll just hibernate until Spring. 😊 I thought some of those items, not the ones you bought, were too high. The picture of the man is Robert Redford in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid. Great old movie.
I have so many books, that I now only buy books that are copyrighted in the 1800s.. my oldest book, currently, was copyrighted in 1826.. very few people who do these thrifting videos even look at the copyright date.. which is so frustrating for me
You could thrift a couple of stainless steel sauce pans tap them off and paint the bottoms of them copper and hang them by the fireplace. Until you find the right baskets. Then you can use them with greenery especially at Christmas time.
I've been on a hunt for quilts and now I know why I can't find any, they're all in Texas 🤣 No, but really, I'm in the process of finishing up another quilted vest and several of those would have been so cute turned into one! Hope you get to feeling better soon ❤
Don’t worry about those of us who are old and know who the old guy on the button is! When I pick up old pictures I wish someone could identify them for me. Carry on and do what you do!♥
Hi Danielle . I hope the new year started out well for you and your husband. For some reason I did not know you were somewhere you don’t get snow. The kids here were out of school for two weeks for holidays and then another week because of the ice, snow and freezing temperatures. We did not have mail or garbage pickup. It was absolutely beautiful though. I did not really mind. I love your home . I did the old suitcases in a corner of our living room forever, but everytime I dusted a piece of leather fell off and I ended up putting an old trunk there..but who knows when it might come back. I love the pictures you have. I hope I can thrift a Currier and Ives books I love the little girl picture. I like the blanket holder . Your house always look gorgeous. Take care❤❤❤❤
I'm from central Alabama and we did get snow. We do not get much snow here. I loved how you said a man in the picture. I must be getting vintage that you did not know who he was. I was so hoping you would get the wedding dress and purchase a body form to display the dress on. Would have looked beautiful in a bedroom. You did pick up some good things. I went to an antique store today and purchased some vintage Christmas for next year.
Oh, I hope someone saved that gorgeous satin wedding dress. A little, or not so little girl, would have so much fun playing dress up with it. When my daughter (now 42) was little, I would buy prom dresses and alter them for her to play in or be a princess for Halloween. My local thrift stores have been quite bare and disappointing. No snow here in Northern Ca, 35 degrees low, 60 degrees daytime high.
Wonderful video!!! Your Goodwills have fantastic pieces. Very enjoyable time seeing all the interesting pieces. Thank u for stating the prices on the screen, always nice to know!!! U gave me some great ideas from your book shelf collages!!! Just subscribed...will back track to see previous videos...here's hoping for a great 2025 for u!!!💞💞🙃💞💞
Hi Danielle! Well i would have loved to been somewhere where they got snow because you know down in the Tampa area on FL we sure didn't have anything even remotely close to snow🥺 But i was sent some pictures of where i moved here from, up in SE Tennessee, of course they had a beautiful snow!😢 They sent a picture of a 7ft tall snowman they built! Lol😄 Lots Of cool pieces! The second tin you showed was really pretty, the white one with the red barns was really pretty as well. I love the needlepoint or tapestry material pillows, I just love anything made with that material. I stopped in the little junk store today g was very surprised at a lot of the vintage & antique pieces. But I got the little small jewelry box, bout half the size of a standard jewelry box. Babur it was A burgundy color leather & the top had a gorgeous inset of a needlepoint piece that was black with florals & bows stitched in, with a red velvet inside.. so pretty! I did a google lens g the exact box popped right up, definitely vintage & i definitely got a great deal!😉 Aww the doll wardrobe was precious!😊 Ohh the little stool with the needlepoint material & what looked like brass legs was a really cool piece. The little wooden round table that was $8.99 was beautiful!! Lol the "90's sitcom couch..i had a blue couch with tiny pink & white flowers on it in the late 80's-early 90's😄 The clock on the stand was very unique & very pretty! I not only pick up wish shelves when i find them at a good deal, but i pick up the little ornate smaller top shelves as well. They look really nice under piece of art or A mirror & even mixed in a gallery wall or just in a small space that needs a little something! I have quite a large brass collection & most of it is some type of vessel. I had one of the spitunes at one Tim, but for the life of me i have no clue what happened to it!🤷♀️ I found a pair of bronzed baby shoes asking with a bronzed little toy t-model truck back in the spring. At that junk store today along with the jewelry box i got a pair of antique baby shoes that had been done in some sort of plaster! I've never seen any done like that that I can remember! The pin with the photo is A photo of Robert Redford in one of his movies, but honestly i like it! Oh so glad you got the tin with the barns on it! So pretty!❤ I type as I'm watching so didn't know you had it when i mentioned it earlier!😊 The Bookcase/cabinet at the he bottom of the stairs looks so pretty! Love how you've styled it!🤍 And I agree, the shelf next to the bottom is my fav as well!! The like black baby shoes looks a lot like the ones i got today! I've got several Currier & Ives coffee table books & I've framed several i pictures & there's more i intend to frame.😉 If you his the mod podge technique it'll make the pictures look like a real oil painting! its simple, quick & easy! Ashley enjoy thrifting with you! You always show great pieces & bring home 3
As usual, I love your style, Danielle. Just a thought, did you consider putting the stack of suitcases under the mirror by your stairway and moving the quilt rack beside your white cabinet? I thought the suitcases might fill up that empty space under the mirror. Just a thought, no criticism.😊
Yes, but they don’t leave enough room to get up the stairs. I don’t think the camera shows how tight the walkway can be. But thank you for the suggestion!
Hello, enjoyed your video. I live in Ohio, got a lot of snow very cold also. It was level 3 here which is the worst level. Schools closed etc. take care, see you soon.
That sweater with the bear, I can not believe this is in the bins, next stop the landfill. That makes me so sad. We got 12 inches of snow outside of Washington DC . So cold it’s not going anywhere soon.
Watch the movie ‘The Way We Were’ and you will love Robert Redford! I think you will love that movie since you like vintage things. You have great Goodwill bins…where are you located? I have not been to one yet where I can find very much. Great video!
Outside of Houston! We have a lot of goodwills but things move fast and they’re always very busy! So pros and cons I suppose! Lol thank you for watching!
In case you didn't already know, the guy on the pin is Robert Redford - just kidding, I read the comments to make sure someone had mentioned it and many already had. What I did want to mention, was the lovely lady container, where her body opened from the bottom of her skirt, that said occupied Japan, at one time would have been very collectable. (12:06) Unfortunately, it is no longer as popular as it used to be.
Danielle, the man on the pin is Robert Redford in the movie Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid.
I thought that’s who that was.🤭
😊yep we’re old. 😉🤗
Good to know! Haha thank you!
@@janeleslie4192 we are vintage. Lol. Robert Redford and Paul Newman handsome men back then.
1969 was the movie. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Great movie..!!!
I chuckled when you referred to Robert Redford as “the man” on the button pin. You’re definitely showing your age. (That’s a compliment)😊. Great haul!

The Robert Redford pin is awesome!
Apparently he is popular with my demographic…maybe I should do a giveaway! Hahah 😂😂😂
The styling is so delightful and clever !

You have 2 precious fur babies . So cute , sweet faces and they smile .
He is Robert Redford. Picture from the movie, The Sting! He is still alive and famous actor. Nice haul

The first bear was a vintage mohair bear ….made in England & worth about $90+

What about some hooks on the mirror? You could hang something to fill up that void. It's very cute! ❤
I love skier picture!

My husband who is like a bull in a china shop kept stubbing his toe on it so it had to go. I'm sure you won't have that problem😁

Yes we got about between 10-12 inches of snow here in Southeast Kansas City , Missouri on top of half -3/4 inch of ice .
The “little glass pieces” as you called them look to me like a small perfume bottle and a set of doorknobs including the middle piece, the spindle.
That pin was Robert Redford. Great find! He was such a cutie. I saw I mohair bear you showed at the bins that would have been a great grab.
Love the decor. The person in the antique frame is Robert Redford a TV actor. He's old now lol. Love your videos. Hope your feeling better.

Yes, it’s around $2.49 a pound so if you don’t get anything too heavy you can leave with out spending much!
Where do you live? The Goodwill stores in my city never have any of the good items you’re showing. You’re very lucky.

What state do you live in? In Central Indiana we have 19 to 23 inches on the ground and it’s snowing again today.
I’m outside of Houston, Texas! Haha snow is a just a dream for us! 😂
Yes! I did look her up in the store & found that also! I think she’s lovely, but too bright for my taste! Thank you for watching!
I don’t understand how some of those things ended up in the bins. We don’t have bins on the East Coast. I wish we did.
Me either! I wonder if some of the good stuff gets donated straight there because vintage doesn’t last at my local goodwills!
FYI occupied Japan items are not easy to find.
