- The Story of Trainworld! Find out how the founder Peter Bianco founded TrainWorld. Also check out the new generation and how they are changing the business!

The model railroad equipment & accessories we sell are not toys,
and are not intended for use by children under the age of 14,
Greatest feeling is getting home from work, to see a Trainworld box sitting on the front porch.
Haha thats awesome!
I've been a customer since the seventies. I'm 67 now. Love your store and the people that work there. Keep up the great work!
Thanks!

TrainWorldTV I just got my first shipment from trainworld and I’m impressed I definitely will by more models from here
Hi from Ireland, what a wonderful man Pete was and the fruits that came from him are. I had the great pleasure of knowing Pete when I lived in USA and found him to be one of the greatest gentlemen that I have known. It's a beautiful story about his life and the families life. Hope it continues for many generations to come. Next time I am in town I hope to visit. Happy new year for twenty two.
Glad you enjoyed it
great story...we need to continue supporting family businesses.
Train land is the industry role model for value and service. These people love model trains as I do and this passion is reflected in everything they do. They are my first go to resource for H O railroading. I love the graphic illustrations and detailed descriptions of every product offered. THANKS GUYS AND GALS.
Thanks James!
Received my first Lionel Train Set in 1955 with the 1615 Loco 0-4-0 & Tender + "set", while growing up and living in NYC. By 1977 I was buying trains from you folks and today, same applies as a Suburban NJ fan ! You have always given me great service and prices! I guess my 2 children ( now grown ) also owe their great Train Layout fun to you too!
The model train hobby today in the world would not be the same.or as good without your family's passion for model trains. Thanks for keeping it going!
Thanks Adam I Appreciate that. We definitely try!
Since my first purchase from you guys, I have never looked back, you have always given me great service, so many thanks from here in the UK
Thanks Ernie. That's very kind of you to say.
Bless you Mr. Peter Bianco, you and Mrs. Bianco founded a stellar, superb business that your sons, daughter and grandsons continue to run in the highest of standards that I'm forever grateful to and always proud to mention to those who visit my TH-cam channel and pose questions and comments on the model railroad videos on my channel. "The greatest deals EVER!!!" is how I describe your business, and it's so true. I've been satisfied beyond words many times in my purchases from Trainworld, hence my strong and enthusiastic recommendation to others to shop with your family business. Ken Sr., your dad would be spectacularly proud of you and your family continuing the strong tradition. As a New Yorker (born and raised in Manhattan until 1975, then moved to Brooklyn for 8 years, then back to Manhattan for 5 more years then onto Florida for the last 29 years) I'll always support your business and steer people your way. A terrific story, and thanks for sharing it with us.
THANK YOU to the Bianco family!!
Thank you so much for your support Mark. We couldn't do it without friends like you.
TrainWorldTV
You're most welcome, you all are the best, plain and simple. My next trip up, I must visit your store finally. Good job guys!
Been a customer for years with you guys. Will continue to be for many more!
Thanks Daniel!
I just started purchasing O gauge lay out items from Train World this year. They have always been polite and professional when speaking with me . I highly recommend Train World as a vendor for your Model Railroad items.
A great American success story, and who doesn't like to hear one?
Continued success to you gents!
Much appreciated!
Again! Fantastic video! Fantastic products!
I've made 2 purchases from them this past year and look forward to making many more in the coming years. Excellent Service!!!!!!!!!
Great to hear!
Great to see the Train World history video. Back in 1971 (when I was 12) I got a Lionel O gauge set with 675 steamer. I just loved these trains over HO and N. I started looking in Model Railroader for where I could find more Lionel. First, I found Hobby Surplus Sales in Conn and bought some things from them. But I was after more trains that those old Lionel catalogs showed. Then, in the back of MR magazine, there was an add --Giant train list-send Large SSAE Peter Bianco, Brooklyn NY. " What is a SSAE ?" A problem for a 12 year old to figure out. At last I did, and I got that wonderful list of used Lionel trains.
I can still point out the items I bought from Pete. I also thought it was cool how he would sign the receipt and use the end of the "e" to come around and cross the "t". I put that "t" cross style into my name and still use it. Lots of found memories of mail ordering and letter exchange on receipts with Peter.
Great story Tim! Appreciate hearing your story!
I remember the store on Ave. M...it was great!
trainshows with Grandpa, awesome man!!!
Excellent family story and model train business. 😎
• Cheers from The Detroit & Mackinac Railway 🚂

I remember going to the Sunrise Highway store as an early teen to round out the collection I inherited from my cousin. I am so thrilled to know you are still around. I hope to visit again from Vermont now. I hope someday you re-open the showroom. Best of everything to your family.
Thank you! Amazing to hear the history!
I'm, also, a customer at Trainworld. I enjoy buying from them. Don't know them personally, but they seem like nice folks and have always given me good customer service. They also discount the retail prices of the Lionel trains that come out every year.
Thank you for the kind words!
Just made my first purchase with Trainworld and just beginning in this hobby at the age of 48.
Thanks Allen!~
I remember the original store, right next to the Avenue M station. Wish it was still there!
Great story I have been a customer for a few years and enjoyed the history lesson Thanks
Thanks Nick
+TrainWorldTV I want to talk to you guYs. Through email. Ktrain.ny@gmail.com
What a great family story. I began dealing with Trainworld in the '70s when business was transacted via telehone. I still wonder hown a southern born and educated guy could make himself understood to a Brooklynite but I had just finished military service so some edge had been knocked off my accent.
Hi Ken (Jr and Sr) I have been a customer of Trainworld since the early days and remember Pete very well. He was a great guy. I used to see him at the shows and at the store. He was always great to his customers. I truly miss him. Thanks for posting this video I really enjoyed seeing the old photos of Pete it brought back great memories.
Thanks Jack. I really appreciate the kind feedback.
Enjoyed your video. Been buying from Trainworld/Trainland only since 2008 when I returned to the hobby after leaving it in the late '60s. Your prices are great. When ordering by phone I have always found your phone staff cordial and efficient.
Thank you Heru!
Bought from you for years. Awesome!
I order from Trainworld fantastic customer service,my orders arrive promptly and always in good order, great selection and prices,in the future when I travel to the USA from my home here in Australia Trainworld is on the top of the list for a visit.
Thanks Robert!
Great service and a huge selection!
Thanks Vito!
I began placing my first orders with Trainworld out of Model Railroader ads for Fundimensions/MPC Lionel back in 1981. The snail mail way by mailing a check and eagerly waiting. Shipping was always prompt by snail mail standards. Trainworld always stocked what they advertised no different than today. I remember the Train World catalogs that came with my orders. In hand with the Fundimensions catalogs, they became wish books as Trainworld carried a lot of new old stock. The catalogs always featured black and white pics of the Trainworld gang. I remember when Trainword became an Aster gauge 1 dealer. The Gauge 1 J1E Hudson was big major news for Trainworld. Cab no 5344 and all. Ken Bianco is right. You have to change with the times. The modern day Trainworld website is top notch. It offers color pics of what you are ordering. Order takers seem to operate around the clock as I have gotten emails comfirming process of my order at wee hours of the morning. Within 2 days my order is on my porch.
Thanks for your support John. It's good friends like you why were in still in business today
GRANDPAZ TRAINZ...LONG TIME SUPPORTER........

I have never been to your shops before. I will visit your shops someday. I am from the Columbus Ohio area. Looking forward to meeting you all.
Thank you for sharing your story.
I was coming to trainworld since the 70s and now I'm 57 years old
I'm big into n scale and dabble in old 027 Marx stuff collecting. I live in North Carolina but make a few trips to NYC from time to time. The wife and I were in nyc back in Sept. And I didnt realize you all were a retail store aswell until just now. We have another trip planned in Aug of 2019 and I will deff be making the trip to your retail store while in town for the week! Last trip we went to a slot car track buzz a Rama as we race slots and buzz is a national icon . This trip I cant wait to visit train world! Will have to make a purchase for something special while there. I like the attitude and atmosphere that is represented in this video.
Thanks Danny. Feel free to stop by TrainLand 293 Sunrise Highway Lynbrook NY
@@TrainWorldTV will have to stop by the Brooklyn store as I wont be on the other area. I could but it's over an hour subway ride. In fact the Brooklyn location is only 4 blocks from the slot car ttwck I visited back in Sept. Lol didmt even realize how close I was at the time.
This was a really nice story and tradition that has carried on for many years! Great video and pleasure to watch. Hope to deal with you guys some day.
Thanks Donald
TrainWorldTV You're welcome guys
Love you guys, see ya soon!
Howdy from Texas ! I don’t know if you would consider someone who’s bought from you within the past 14 years and 7 years ago !!! I was satisfied with the packaging, service, handling, & shipping costs and like your grandfather and grandmother, I too also tried to create A mom and pop shop or At least a small hobby shop so I could survive in my old age !!!! But as it turns out, I’ve got it all In a 10 x 10 storage unit costing me $105.50 a month to keep it ! I do however Buy sell and trade through eBay as well as some other source’s as well as (“train shows”), but, I still don’t make what I’d like to make because I’m so hooked on Model Railroading I keep buying instead of selling ! Maybe someday you guys will come down to Texas during a train show like “the great Galveston railroad museum model train show” ? 🌊🐺
Nice video. I expect visit you in next November!!
Looking forward to it!

Hey Trainworld, I was wondering if, there would be a market for the 7.25 or 7.50 Gauge trains coming in the future...
Doubt it. :(
Nice story.
Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri visited Trainworld, but he never made it out....LMAO! hahahahaha
You can here the New York accent in those old vid
nothing says christmas like a lionel train set.
The Best
I wanna polar express train 😫
Do you know what is going on with the Broadway Limted Commodore Vanderbilt?
They're waiting for more orders. I dont think the demand was as great as it is in the New York Area. Our store has huge orders and demand for it. I guess because were NY guys.
Trainworld was very helpful learning about mth dcs. Your prices are very good & your help & patience fantastic. With my new trainbord & a full DCS system (TIU, WIU, AIU ), the sytem found new engines added in only 7 of 10 tries with a signal trated 10 out of 10. After I added additional power to the TIU with a wall wart ( besides the normal connection to my Z4000 transformer), it did improve and, so far, found every egine each time I added a new engine. I actually did a video to summarize my experiences with DCS and what I leanned to make the choice between a mth DCS Explorer or the full function DCS System with a TIU, Wiu' & AIU. posted as file1man, here: th-cam.com/video/mSmjqvXQ_dQ/w-d-xo.html
