I know right. I am not the best at using a honey gate. I overfill almost every time.

Sorry to keep bothering you, but what kind of oil are you putting in that oil feed?
    Setting mine up now...

You are no bother. You need 2 different oils for the machine. For the drive cylinders pneumatic oil from Lowe's or any hardware. For the food cylinders you will need some food grade lubricant. Food grade mineral oil works fine. You use it after you clean the machine.

Great videos. Thanks for posting these.
Can you empty the honey that is in the unit?
I guess what i mean is can you get every bit of it, or is there waste?
And im sure there is some waste but i mean, can you basically empty the hoses into jars or ia there a point where youre wasting several pounds of honey because you juat cant run it too low.

Once my tank is empty the machine will start pulling air. I max out the capacity of the bottler to help get as much of the honey out as possible. I have found it you wait a hour the honey will settle in the hoses and you can pump more out. When I am done I can drain the large hoses into a jar. With this method I only loose a few ounces of honey, you will have about one ounce of honey in the piston and a little the small hose. With the accuracy of this machine I have found it to save allot of honey as I was overfilling around half a ounce when doing it by hand. That worked out to be a about a half pound per case . I bottle 100 cases so that was like giving away 4 gallons of honey. Hope this helps and glad you like the video.

@@honeybeehomesteading Very nice! I tend to overfill by 1/4 to 1/2 an ounce as well, so looking forward to the savings, but also just the ease in filling.
I ordered mine yesterday and looking forward to trying it out.
Thanks again for such a detailed video. I was about to pull the trigger on a $2500 - $3500 honey bottler from one of the bee supply companies, and then saw your video and this will save a ton of money!

I really like that this bottler will sypon and will also do creamed honey which I am getting ready to bottle. Make sure you do a full stroke on the unit to get all the air out of the cylinders otherwise you will not get consistent results. Have fun.
