    Great presentation Mark. Regarding mating in May 2020, here in Blacksburg, which is kind of similar weatherwise to you, that year was quite the anomaly. Very wet spring until well into June and then we had rain during our normally dry summer. We got an early crop in April and then a summer flow. We never see that. Just an odd year (but a good honey in spite of it). On the May mating, because of the wet weather, the queens did not mate well. Almost every year, beginning of May is when things break for us and we start having good success. Yes you can rear queens in April, but the way I look at it what's the point when success is much lower. You are higher in elevation so I wouldn't doubt if you are a bit later. Thanks for the presentation, very well done.
