Well said Tim, the problem with Footballers now is that they think they are bigger than the club. Football need more managers like tim sherwood who speak the truth
Tim gave his best for the club and I am grateful for that. Spurs fell apart against all the top clubs at the time and what he said after the Chelsea match was not only needed, it was spot on.
I think Sherwood's a sound, honest bloke who has good knowledge of the game. He has the potential to be a very good manager but he wasn't given a fair crack of the whip. Best of luck to him for the future.
this guy is the best manager when it comes to answering the question the critics ask you, other managers wanna be political and say the nice things but he's one of many- chelsea fan
One of the few things he did right during his stint was probably the Chelsea interview. Everyone could see the team lacked grit and spirit and nobody said it but him, such rare honesty was comforting especially in this decade when most managers would simply say "we had a bad day" or "we were unlucky" when we know that's utter PR crap. Unfortunately not the right person to bring us forward.
"tottenham are worse off now" LOOOOL this is why i don't listen to any Arsenal fans opinion on football....what a set of clueless bellends.. I'd rather have Moyes than Sherwood..
i think daniel levy is the cluesless bellend mate, brought 5 players for about 90 million and they've all done shit. he sacked their manager with the highest win ratio out of all the spurs' managers.
DOM_LOLLMAOROFLPMSL To be honest, there is very little I can defend Levy and the mess the club is going through. If any Arsenal fan wants to troll Spurs, they might find thousands of negative messages against Levy from us Spurs fans before the Arsenal's get there. Levy has been a good business man but his idea of managing a game winning team is terrible. We are not Chelsea where we can hire world class manager to win, then sack them when they've failed, because the ones we've hired were not world class. If any of you play FIFA, Spurs are often a top four team if you use simulation and fast forward to the next season, that is because we do have good players but the club in reality is doing badly to play them together. Levy is too involved with the football of the club giving little space to his manager, everything he set up is prepared for his mangers to leave just in case, buying players we got our football director to do, who is to play the next game Levy likes to be involves too. It will take a long time to recover with the direction Levy is going, but his main focus is earning money for the club, to win, we need a differently set of philosophy from Levy, and trust me he is not going to change.
Screw this guy. Stabbed AVB in the back to get the job in the first time. And he did out Sandro, one of our best players, publicly. Also, our now run under AVB at end of last season was better. Only lost 2 games in the entire second half. AVB should have never been sacked!
I can't stand Spurs, but I liked his reign there. He's a refreshing voice untrained in how to deal with the media so he says what he sees. Hopefully the likes of him, Howe, Monk etc show that English managers can compete with their foreign counterparts... As long as it's not at the expense of my team.
I like Sherwood, he may not be a great manager yet but he's passionate and that should go down well with the fans of the club he works for and he has the right attitude with disrespectful players
Tim Sherwood hasn't got the temperament required to manage at the highest level. Many times this season he has overstepped his mark as a manager by not defending his players in public. Who would like to play for a manager who continuously criticise his players in public? it is embarrassing and degrading when you are a veteran and your manager is treating you like a youngster.
It is just a different tactic used as a manager. If you play consistently and play for the badge on your jersey he will respect you. This guy is just a real human, tells it how it is. Just because you are a veteran you don't deserve anything. Professional soccer is a job, you earn the right to play out there by how you show. Just because you have proven yourself for a few years does not mean you have the right to automatically suit up. He respects people that earn their playing time every day.
+Philip Clarke Mourinho basically has a playbook of how to motivate the team, different things to say, just a shame it failed at Chelsea eventually. By the end the players have just heard it all. Until then it's incredible, his relationship with the squad at inter is a bit like someone's right now at atleti, they go out to fight for him.
haven't followed Spurs much in the second half of the season but am very curious about who exactly was he talking about, Soldado, Paulinho, Walker maybe? He's got a point though it I don't see CL teams going for those lot at the moment.
With all that being said I'm surprised he didn't bench Paulinho and keep Sandro on, he's been talking about a move to Chelsea for like 2 months for a champs league spot!
It doesn't surprise me at all that Sherwood ran straight to the media by going on a talkshow. These guy just can't shut up. People praising and condemning him is a stupid thing to do, the man essentially produced the exact same results as Villas-Boas except that it didn't have that feel of building to something better. I want to see Sherwood manage another team for a few years and see what he achieves. Then we can talk about him as a manger.
i feel like spurs will see this guy become a great manager one day and sit there scratching the back of their heads thinking 'oh why did we let him go?'
raheem sterling type players mentioned there at the end , those 4 stone players should find it easy to pull their weight but once greed kicks in its out the door.
That aggressive passionate style of management is obsolete now, as players are more powerful than managers. You need a very strong character like Fergie, Clough or Mourinho to be able to be a maverick now.
Always liked him. What he lacked in talent he made up with desire and effort. That's all you can ask. Never would you think he didn't care. Spurs have always lacked players like him. As a manager I would have given him more time.
This man loves Spurs like one of his own kids, owns the highest win ratio percentage of any spurs manger in the history of the club, knows the modern game inside out, has ex-players like Les Ferdinand working with him, oh yeah and he's English..................Daniel Levy should be peeled and dragged accross the Utah salt flats.
Maybe he should manage west brom, west ham, Sunderland or Newcastle. He doesn't seem like a bad manager, although I'm not at all impressed at him immediately talking about his time at spurs to the media.
Spurs are a joke now.. They sacked the best manager they had for yrs in Arry.. TS did a very gd job under difficult circumstances and he was right to criticise those plyrs after that performance against CFC.. It was shocking the way the team folded when u look at the size of the wagebill at that performance club ..
Players come to Spurs with massive talents and ambition and prospect but when on the field they don't show that cause to be the best, if all of the Spurs players will playing for the club we would of had no trouble getting 4th spot but injuries and departures of managers maybe he these players thinking there at the wrong place because of the inconsistency with the board, Spurs need to be consistent not from the squad but also from the top of the club with a great philiosphy and I believe we had that with Harry Redknapp because it seems players were playing with a belief nowadays it looks like there just being paid to perform. no passion
Good manager if anything Tottenham weren't good enough for him. He did all he could as a manager. He should be given more time. Every manager starts from the bottom with no past success-how is he different?
I really enjoyed looking back on that.I'd give it a thumb up...but I won't because I know that would mean my sidebar being clogged up with $ky 'recommended for you' drivel.
Here a new drinking game.....every time you see an Arsenal fan leaving a comment on this spurs-related video.....take a shot.. You'll be paralytic in 4 mouse wheels..
all the blame is on villas boas and leavy. especially villas boas. harry redknapp had a good team and villas boas completely ruined it, same mistakes he's made at chelsea. too many changes at one time, and instead of getting cheaper more proven players. he got soldado for 26m when he could have got remy for 10 and lukaku for 20. he is an absolutely clueless manager.
Most footballers are a disgrace for there wages they get end of story, how some people look at themselves in the mirror is beyond me, sometimes i think i live in a parallel universe, nothing tim said was wrpng and there was nothing brutal about what he said end of
Shame he was sacked, thought he could've built a great fighting spurs. Someone who knows the club inside out and knew what was wrong with Tottenham. Poor decision from an impatient Levy.
he said this 7 years ago... still bang on 7 years later. big up tim
Well said Tim, the problem with Footballers now is that they think they are bigger than the club. Football need more managers like tim sherwood who speak the truth
That interview was great. Just imagine a manager of another top team being so candid and modest in defeat..
Great Manager. You could clearly see his passion in his short stint. Hope we see him somewhere in the prem next season.
Tim gave his best for the club and I am grateful for that. Spurs fell apart against all the top clubs at the time and what he said after the Chelsea match was not only needed, it was spot on.
Rate how he just says it how it is and that he holds the club above anything else.
Classy act from Tim :)
I think Sherwood's a sound, honest bloke who has good knowledge of the game. He has the potential to be a very good manager but he wasn't given a fair crack of the whip. Best of luck to him for the future.
Tim Sherwoods Claret & Blue Army!
That ages well.
this guy is the best manager when it comes to answering the question the critics ask you, other managers wanna be political and say the nice things but he's one of many- chelsea fan
Tim's on spot about the players not putting their everything in the game. Hence why Ade has been on form and penaldo has been benched.
As a Spurs fan now - he could not have been more right!
Top bloke, top manager and deserving of a top club
Tim sherwood ...good man, well done.
Tbf you can't expect great results when you appoint Jeremy Kyle as manager.
Good on you Tim.
I like him, but he is a stopwatch and a whistle away from being a P.E teacher
Spot on
He gave Kane his debut..You'd never know it as he never mentions it...ever
as an arsenal fan, i'm glad he's left, tottenham are worse off now
Typical dipshit Spurs. I liked him, he was entertaining and honest too.
"tottenham are worse off now"
LOOOOL this is why i don't listen to any Arsenal fans opinion on football....what a set of clueless bellends..

Haha.... Ok.
great guy, great interview.
always thought tim sherwood was a berk and i stand by that
Im a chelsea fan but tim sherwood is a good manager should of got more time at spurs tho
Tim sherwood given the right support will be ah top manager he tells the truth
Even though i'm a Gooner, I actually respect Tim. Spuds screwed him over big time.
Still do now¿
Screw this guy. Stabbed AVB in the back to get the job in the first time. And he did out Sandro, one of our best players, publicly. Also, our now run under AVB at end of last season was better. Only lost 2 games in the entire second half. AVB should have never been sacked!
Gotta love Tim, no b.s! On wards and up wards COYS!
Totally agree
I like Sherwood, he may not be a great manager yet but he's passionate and that should go down well with the fans of the club he works for and he has the right attitude with disrespectful players
Disappointed he left, no spurs fan but Tim along with me is still rocking a bomber jacket like its 1995. We will never let bomber jackets die.
Too right man. I remember those days.
Jose Mourinho
Philip Clarke lmao true! But Mourinho got 2 CL's and many other titles, so he has a right say what he wants.
Mohamed Huseen fair enough plus you have to love his interviews
It is just a different tactic used as a manager. If you play consistently and play for the badge on your jersey he will respect you. This guy is just a real human, tells it how it is. From what I can remember I'm sure he was the first to give Harry the spotlight #COYS
With all that being said I'm surprised he didn't bench Paulinho and keep Sandro on, he's been talking about a move to Chelsea for like 2 months for a champs league spot!

I think he was talking about Hugo Lloris!
i feel like spurs will see this guy become a great manager one day and sit there scratching the back of their heads thinking 'oh why did we let him go?'
Oh dear oh dear.
Clearly talking about Jan Vertonghen
Not sure about that, but it's well known that he didn't get on with Sandro.
Sherwood done well, hope he gets another job in the Premier league and wipes the floor with Spurs.
QPR
raheem sterling type players mentioned there at the end , those 4 stone players should find it easy to pull their weight but once greed kicks in its out the door.
Sunday league manager
At best.
Welcome to Aston Villa

I wouldn't mind him at Newcastle if they ever got rid of pardew.
Sherwood for Southampton
Here's a shout-Sherwood for United?
Remember that time a Gooner was managing Spurs?

I can't help but like this guy for some reason. Spurs treated him poorly. Hopefully he finds a new club that appreciates his ability as a manager.
"never criticized anyone publicly"
what about sandro not being good enough?
Good manager if anything Tottenham weren't good enough for him. He did all he could as a manager. He should be given more time. Every manager starts from the bottom with no past success-how is he different?

I'm guessing Sandro doesn't count.

Are you Jerry are you Jerry are you Jeremy Kyle in disguise.
hes joining west brom

footy vids hmm

To be fair the man did a good job . But could of been worst. But did get used.
Dunno why he chose to manage aston villa. Maybe if he waited a little longer he could have managed a decent team.
That British passion lol.
Villa can still survive.
killer red Villa at their best can be a bogey side. But they can survive your right.
Tayeeb Hussain if he can keep benteke scoring then they are definitely safe.
Tayeeb Hussain He'll make Aston Villa a decent team. They already got to a cup final this season just gone. And stopped them getting relegated.
benteke leaves and villa dies.....
So Gareth Bale didn't out grow Tottenham Tim?
Oh no, he did, but he had the performances to back it up, unlike the players who are preaching in the club at the moment.
How's that galvanising going at villa? Don't get who he galvanised, still lost to Arsenal and got thumped by Liverpol in 2 of his next 3 games
I could name you every one of the players he was on about, you can tell they think there bigger than the club too, NO player is bigger than the club
Gareth bale was
CAPTAIN BELLEND REPORTING FOR DUTY!!
Tottenham open no lids as they have no cups 😂
Haahahahhah we got sanchez, spurs will always be below us, TIM SHERWOODS A GOONER!
Pardew out, Sherwood in.
Oh dear oh dear.
probably Adebayors fault
Awful manager
All talk and rubbish tactically.. Good riddance off Spurs.
