After finding out about the audio crackling was coming from OBS' Application Audio Capture, I decided to use this. Hopefully this will fix my audio issues in my future streams. Thank you for this tutorial. You're doing God's work.
Best video on this so far man! Thanks! Every time I wipe I forget how to set this shit up and every time I have to find a new video. This was the fastest one yet
bought a steel series headset just cause it was on sale and so i downloaded this to set up the audio and realized that this virtual audio interface is actually insanely good. however i realized that shadowplay wasnt capturing discord or my music so i searched this so that i could use OBS instead and found this. appreciate it mate 👍
Thank you so much for this simple breakdown! I watched like three other videos and this was so easy to digest and tailor for my obs. Much appreciated and happy gaming :)
Hey man, thank you for putting this video out! I have the GoXLR and a SteelSeries Arctic Nova Pro headset and I have been trying to figure out the best way to set this up. I was hoping that there was a way to set up the Sonar software with OBSA so that I can replace the GoXLR. This gave me everything I needed to know. One thing I wanted to let you know, when I downloaded the Sonar software today, I also had the option for a media in addition to game and chat. I jsut added it as an audio output source just like the chat and the game and it works flawlessly. I appreciate you doing this video!
As much as I like Voicemeeter, setting up and using SS Sonar is a breeze. I find it much easier to use. Especially now that they've added a Media and an AUX sources to fiddle with.
Is there a way like on voicemeter to change the source for everything all at once. When I'm not at the pc I use my soundbar and then obv at the pc I use my headphones. With voicemeter you could switch everything all at once but this you can't that I can see of anyway
So I think there would be two ways you could this. You could either select the Soundbar directly as your sound output in the bottom right of Windows. Or SteelSeries Sonar now has more channels to use (Media and Aux), you could set your soundbar as the device for one of these, and then just switch to Media or Aux for your sound output on the bottom right of Windows Task bar. Hope this helps :)
@@TheBoish Yeah, I just wish there was a drop down menu to change all of them at once like on voicemeter. Like you have the master mixer part on it but all that allows you to do is set a keyboard shortcut. If only that was one you could change that would change all of them. But thanks for the video anyway. I set it up with my obs. But I might just go back to voicemeter haha
The gaming capture setting is very confusing to me... Why does it also pick up desktop/media audio? you think it would focus on the game, as it is possible to do that through sonar app itself. I came to this video thinking mine was glitched. Spotify music is also recorded in the gaming track, when you'd think it would be recorded under media?
I still use Voicemeeter together with Sonar. I only ever use VM to output to 2 different devices. One being my headset and the other one being be chair, that can vibrate (SQ-AMP MK-II).
Wow is exactly what i was looking for - video is edited and instructed very well - i am however still experiencing an issue with the sound quality sounding muffled and distorted - any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated
Great tutorial, though there's a bunch of unnecesary details, it all comes down to replacing your microphone/output devices to "SteelSeries Sonar - Device" in OBS or any other app. And that's it.
so, when I use Sonar with Obs, when I use the volume control on my keyboard, it lowers the sound that OBS detects and therefore outputs to my stream as well. this isn't a problem I had before Sonar; any way to stop this from happening. it's rather frustrating when I'm playing several different games and I might have to adjust the Windows volume slightly.
Is this useful when it comes to monitoring the live stream output from OBS? I still can’t work out how to monitor the final stream output mix live (in headphones) without getting that annoying delayed mic feedback.
So the issue I'm having, nobody has made a video on. I cant hear anything at all when I turn on the sonar until I open OBS because everything is set to monitor output
Hmm that's weird. Here are some suggestions below: 1) Check that the device (headphones/speakers) used for monitoring on OBS is definitely being used as the output device in the SteelSeries GG Sonar Mixer. 2) In your bottom right sound output settings, make sure that "SteelSeries Sonar - Gaming" has been selected. 3) Go to Settings --> System --> Sound --> More sound settings and then make sure that the SteelSeries Sonar - Gaming has been set to default. 4) If the above did not work, then it might be worth reinstalling the app and re-configuring it. Hope this helps! Let me know how you get on.
I have some problem about Clips , When i enable my microphone i only hear my mic no desktop sound , but when i disable my microphone i can hear my desktop sound , like i can choose only 1 type of it .. can you help me fix? cuz i really love Sonar
Assuming you mean the listening audio when you playback clips that you've recorded, it's usually because Windows cannot handle more than one audio track. To get around this, in OBS combine all of your audio sources to one track (say Track 1). This will allow you to hear all of the audio on one track it just makes it more difficult to balance when editing and mixing your videos. To get around this, select additional tracks for your other audio sources to also separate them for easier editing/mixing. Example: Microphone - Tracks 1 + 2 Game Audio/Desktop - Tracks 1 + 3 Discord - Tracks 1 + 4 Hope this helps!
Hey i wonder is it possible to setup app with dual pc setup. My headset and mic are connected to my gaming pc and im vban thru voicemeeter on my streaming pc, so if u know is it possible to do that with steelseries app let me know. Tnx :D Btw very helpful video for people using same pc for streaming/recording.
Thanks for the comment! Not familiar with having a dual PC set up so I couldn't tell you sorry. I don't think you can do it directly through the SteelSeries app though. I have seen online a plugin for OBS called NDI which I think acts as a capture card. I think that could be used to take the load off your gaming PC?
Very bad way of telling how to set the steel series with obs studio please speak slowly and tell things slowly, you went like super fast, I don't know who understands this.
This has to be the best most easy to understand tutorial on TH-cam, much love to you for making this so easy to set up!
Thank you so much for this video. It is litteraly perfect. Its clear, precise and quick. Thank you!

Great to hear! Glad you found it useful. It's a really neat piece of software when it's all set up.
I didn't realize you could change the app sound settings through Windows like that! THANK YOU!!!

Wish all guides were professional as this one. Thank you. 🙇♂
Thank you so much, this was very very helpful and easy to understand. Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I use Streamelements Alerts and have to use a browser source so i never hear my alerts EVER, idk how to fix it
Got my sub, bro. Thanks for saving my stream.
You can do different track layouts within the GG client now, this was a very useful tutorial anyway!

why all sounds except game and mic isn''t recorded. any tips?
I use voicemeeter to get my ps5 audio in and out through my laptop, so how would i do it with this mixer?
I only hear my microphone in one ear even though I have it checked as mono in obs. Any help?
Legend. Great video
Thank you so much!
THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED! I wanted to learn to separate my discord chat in sonar as I have times where I need to edit it in premiere pro thanks!
I tried doing that , but the game sound linked to the chat sound at the same time , do you now how to separate it in premiere pro .
this was so handy mate thank you!!
Is there a way to eliminate the monitoring delay Sonar produces?
I'm confused. I installed OBS and it already has Mic/Backup audio listed in audio mixer when yours doesn't, should I hide these?

Can I capture ps chat audio using this method?
Are there plugins for streamdeck+?

Using the base of the artic - i pressed it and changed the second menu dial to to make the sound quality change and fixed the utube sound
THANK YOU MAN !!
W video bro i subbed
I'm having trouble with OBS cant hear audio
But can it take audio coming from your desktop and have it heard on TH-cam Live?
You're a hero

So with how obs monitor sound you will still get a little delay
Great video? Do you have any advice on how to use Sonar to dual PC stream. I have having extreme trouble in routing audio for dual PC strreaming.
does this work with a one PC & console setup with a capture card ?
When i click start setup on sonar, its not giving me any input devices on any of the options, just says select, please help?
You're Welsh right? Also good video👍
Ydw! Thank you for the kind words!
I listening my microfone when tecling?!
There's no option to change the output from 7.1 surround back to stereo format. I cant use it to stream pubg. Sad
Thank you so much brother.

When using Steelseries Sonar, the mic sound seems to be very weak and there is no way to boost it.
Cheers mate, saved my marriage
Ew muvva saved my marriage son 😉

Does this only work if you are playing on a PC…. Or would I use these same settings for PS5?
Think this would only work on a PC. Don't think you can set up SteelSeries Sonar for the PS5
Thank you so much😀
what if i am using a voice changer on top of this?
Select the input that the voicechanger gives you as your mic instead
thanks

@@TheBoish ok i was just curious if u know myb. Im using now voicemeeter and its working fine but seting up the voicemeeter to both pc is horrible.

Yes its the same
wish i watched this before recording an hour of me talking to myself lol
Happens to all of us 😂
