The Long Island Railroad used GP38-2s for commuter services from 1976 to 1998. There's some still being used on Long Island by the NY&Atlantic Railway for freight service.
And don't forget that they had combinations,of MP15's,FA'sand F's,along with C420's,exciting times, and much missed! Check out the Oyster Bay Railroad Museum, worth the trip!! Thank you 😇 😊!
Terrific in depth episode , thanks so much, I cant help think the History of the Alco PA in a two parts series given the " Trains 21 "" treatment would give great insite and sort through a lot of myths surrounding the model. Just Ideas. Keep up the great work .
The E M D family of 38 and 40 series locomotives were literally the mechanical saving of the rail industry. Whatever made them think they could get away with quality cuts with the 50 and 60 series and wreck their business?

I have an exciter key for a GP 38-2. It's in my collection somewhere.😂😂
Huge manifest with mid helper distributed power and all the power on the head end, nice video!🛤🚂
Those Canadian Pacific engines are cool.
I know they existed from day one, but I'm not accustomed to seeing GP40s without dynamic brake blisters.
Excellent !!! thanks for sharing so much information.
Nice film 😁

2:26 That's a very odd CP paint scheme. Anyone know how it got there?
Howdy AC!! Hope all is well with you!!
A WOW of a manifest with DPU.
EMD unit reduced itself out of business.
@ 00:54... isn't a roots blower and a turbo charger the same thing???
No, they are not. A roots blower is driven from the crankshaft. A turbocharger is driven by the exhaust gases
@@paulsartorello836 Supercharger vs. turbocharger, right?
We have 7304 in Vancouver
2 thumbs up on this AC
