I think it’s safe to say that “find your style outside of home decor” is a gem! I am guilty of jumping on all the new drops at Target as well as tryunf to define my style. This ends up with me making donations to Goodwill almost yearly. MY personal style is very earthy, natural, neutral with some luxury items to top it off. I am not big on colors in my everyday fashion but I gravitate towards black, white, gray and white or cream. And candles are life. This was a very helpful video!
Such an individual who is relatable. I agree with not going with an entire line. I moved into my custom built home two years ago and I am already changing things by shopping my own decor and adding in special vintage pieces which were in storage. Sometimes you want a change. So instead of getting rid of your old decor, save it and repurpose it. This can help prevent your home from looking like a local Homegoods or Target. It also helps when you keep a cohesive color palette if you have various aesthetics. I am a TRUE neutrals girl but definitely not a one trick pony when it comes to my style. I love vintage, modern, and a touch of Afrocentric. Great vid!!!

It’s confusing to think of blending my existing pieces with this new style; but, the way you explained it really helped.
Great vid! You are the first person who hasn’t said take a style quiz. Most ppl like different stuff but are unsure if you can mix different things w/o it being tacky. Your best tips - finding inspiration outside of decor, don’t buy all of one line and take your time. Most of us just want it done so we just buy buy but don’t like it later.
My style is “modern glam” similar to RH modern but not too much Restoration Hardware. I love glam light fixtures and a little gold in my decor but furniture and such clean lines, geometric shapes, etc was always drawn to that. Keep the videos coming ❤️

I find my inspiration from nature. I love scenic and coastal/tropical art and photographs. And I love the carefree vibes of summer. So I tried to bring those elements into my home, beach color palette and decorative pieces that remind me of nature.
I love this! I really went with the farmhouse a few years ago, but I fell out of love with it. I realize that I like modern, with rustic touches, and textures.

Brandy this video is ON point, love love LOVE!! Your message resonated with me because my hubby wants to use a terra cotta paint color for our living room. (I had been set on white because Im a fan of Joanna Gaines styles) But he said to me “I thought we are the couple that likes the path less traveled?” and that was it for me. We are diving in to a rustic terra cotta pallet and I’m so excited. I know darker and cozier is NOT what’s hot right now but that just makes it even better. Its not what everybody is doing but girl it’s what we are doing! Lol

Excellent Brandy! I loved the advice about finding your inspiration outside of home decor. I too love architecturally intricate and beautiful buildings. It also resonates, and is true for me, that while I don’t have one style, my color palette is consistent. I am switching up my style a bit and have integrated geodes, beautiful coffee table books, dough bowls etc and mixed it with my existing decor. I’m slowly phasing out my old style and finding my new one. It takes time, but it’s not a race. In the end it all pays off and the look of your home will reflect the thought and time you took to curate your decor. Keep shining. ⭐️
This is wonderful advice. My style is cozy, romantic, vintage, and cottage. I'm attracted to flowers, muted greens, and antiques. I find it funny that 'granny chic' is making a comeback. I never left.

I have a question that’s a little off topic but I’d love your advice before purchasing. I’m planning on purchasing a brass/gold arched floor lamp for beside my leather sectional and a round mirror for above the entry table which will be painted white with a stained wood top. Also a 22x66” full length mirror on a different wall. I’m trying to decide between gold/brass or a black for these mirror rims? I’m decorating in a neutral cozy boho feel. I want it to stay cozy but not be dull either. I do already have a black/rattan studio McGee console plus a black/rattan billy bookcase (when I finish DIYing it). Also 2 black IKEA vittsjo shelves flanking my white fireplace. I know that was a lot, I’m hoping you can picture the room and vibe of it. I hope it’s ok to ask this detailed question. Hi Brandy. I hope I can ask for your help. I was just given for FREE a beautiful queen anne dining set with two side pieces, a love seat, and 3 living room chairs in a light aqua color. Everything is queen anne and too nice to repaint. I originally was going for tropical farmhouse but I'm not in love with farmhouse any longer. However I do love tropical with the pale aqua and I have some beautiful coral pieces. I can't decide whether to sell the furniture and buy more modern or to try working with what I was given. It is very upscale furniture and I cannot afford new. Is there a style that I can make work with these pieces that's more modern? Anyone feel free to jump in and help a girl out lol, I need it. You sound like my ex.......he use to always tell me to collect timeless pieces don’t necessarily go with trendy items that will go out of style a hot minute. I am thankful I had parents that owned a antique store while I was growing up and that style and theme always stayed with me. I love how u make it make sense‼️💕💕💕💕👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😊😊😊
Just my opinion but I think that too many people go for trends and then get bored with it and end up getting rid of all of that. I have to be more purposeful about what I get for the home because I know I'll have to live with it for a long long time. It's kind of like clothes too. Depending on your age of course you may want to follow some trends but the same thing goes for that and if you have the money to buy new stuff all the time, that's fine for you but not everyone can do that. It also ends up making your home and what you wear a true expression of yourself instead of what's in a magazine. And never let anyone make you feel like there's anything wrong with "you being you."
Just started following you on Instagram too😃, I have decor for different seasons and just organized our attic today to label bins Fall/Christmas\ summer etc same style guess just like to change up rooms with the seasons. I’m planning on purchasing a brass/gold arched floor lamp for beside my leather sectional and a round mirror for above the entry table which will be painted white with a stained wood top. Also a 22x66” full length mirror on a different wall. I’m trying to decide between gold/brass or a black for these mirror rims? I’m decorating in a neutral cozy boho feel. I want it to stay cozy but not be dull either. I do already have a black/rattan studio McGee console plus a black/rattan billy bookcase (when I finish DIYing it). Also 2 black IKEA vittsjo shelves flanking my white fireplace. I know that was a lot, I’m hoping you can picture the room and vibe of it. I hope it’s ok to ask this detailed question. Hi Brandy. I hope I can ask for your help. I was just given for FREE a beautiful queen anne dining set with two side pieces, a love seat, and 3 living room chairs in a light aqua color. Everything is queen anne and too nice to repaint. I originally was going for tropical farmhouse but I'm not in love with farmhouse any longer. However I do love tropical with the pale aqua and I have some beautiful coral pieces. I can't decide whether to sell the furniture and buy more modern or to try working with what I was given. It is very upscale furniture and I cannot afford new. Is there a style that I can make work with these pieces that's more modern? Anyone feel free to jump in and help a girl out lol, I need it. Just my opinion but I think that too many people go for trends and then get bored with it and end up getting rid of all of that. I have to be more purposeful about what I get for the home because I know I'll have to live with it for a long long time. It's kind of like clothes too. Depending on your age of course you may want to follow some trends but the same thing goes for that and if you have the money to buy new stuff all the time, that's fine for you but not everyone can do that. It also ends up making your home and what you wear a true expression of yourself instead of what's in a magazine. And never let anyone make you feel like there's anything wrong with "you being you."
