I don't think I get much out of this one. it has some Step Ahead and Believing Heart DNA stitched together in a way that doesn't work for me + the flat loud violins not bad but perfectly busy and generic Boss 5 and 8 are certainly my fav battle tracks from him in this game (at least those are the reference numbers at the time of me posting this). They actually sound more video game-y and committal to their ideas..
I wasn't sure about Kai's OST at first, I thought maybe Ao no Kiseki had a better OST... But then based KINGA swooped in and blessed my ears with this, Generic Boss Theme no.482, and now I can rest easy knowing that yes, Ao no Kiseki does indeed have a better OST. Thank you Kinga 🙏 Truly a man among gods.
this is my favorite boss theme in the game but I wish it didn't play in the final dungeon. I think they should have used the SU arrange of Unmitigated Evil like how CS3 used The Decisive Collision
the lack of Tanizaki and Yoshida in this game compared to Ys X eludes me.. I really want to like Boss 9 more also considering it apparently plays against a cool Lucrezia fight (going off Timodus' thumbnails) but yeah.. a richer violin and this would've been great
@@seymourflux747 Crazy, how the priorities for Singa in Kai is kinda weird. Especially how ADD is more promiment in Kai more than usual..Boss theme 4 and 7 would've been so good live guitar lol.. Even if YS X was one of the worst soundtrack in Falcom still gave me the hope, that they would use more of jdk BAND..especially when they just have one or 2 with the whole band..It really does feel like a waste compared to Kamikura/Okajima contribution and the old jdk BAND...

The composition is a little better than normal but oh my god please learn how to program a single VST
I think the composition of this track is...okay. It has a more coherent structure than usual.
The violin just sounds bad.
While I am usually a big singa enjoyer kai is the first ost where I feel he just keeps missing :(
