Well done on a lovely crop of calves. You could make a double sided A frame for the hurdles, put fork pockets underneath and pin and cone brackets on the end.
Impressive calves! What is the reason to not steer all the bulls? I was surprised you sorted off bulls to feed out. I am use to doing that with steers. Just wondering.
We have stabilisers mainly (will be getting more) and we also have some older blue cross cattle. We use a Charolais and stabiliser over the blue cross cows and breed the stabilisers back to a stabiliser to keep them pure. 👍 absolutely awesome cows.
@@baldysfarm They defo do the job! We are on pure Herefords, small herd, sexed semen to sell heifers, as they sell well. Thats our system. Your cattle seem quiet enough to handle which is important
They just do exactly what they say on the tin. Easy to manage, fertile, easy calving, grow like weeds, suit a grass based system. Honestly can’t believe it’s too us so long to start using them 🙈
@baldysfarm they're a super animal I think people are just half afraid to change what they know and take the gamble on a different breed. It surely has changed ye'r output for the better and best of luck with them mate
Your family is class and your herd is absolutely stunning

How will you winter all the calves? Diet etc to keep them growing? Are you calving at 2 Yr old?
