I am no bodybuilder, but simply a 40-something mom trying to build muscle and stay strong into my dotage, BUT I have learnt so so much from watching Dr Mike's YT videos! I love his way of relaying information in easy to understand terms and his humour is EVERYTHING! I have seen visible results in just a few weeks from applying some of Dr Mike's principles and I am absolutely hooked! I'd get the RP App if I could afford it!!
The RP app is amazing. I’ve used it for a year or so and it’s game changing. Here’s my recommendation - wait till Black Friday or a big sale, then you can get it for like 40% off if you purchase it for the whole year 😎👌
If your new to training the good news is you’ll see results from damn near anyone’s training principles because everything works 💪 you don’t need a fancy app to make progress but definitely recommend keeping a log book to track your progress. I use the “strong app” and it’s cheap and a one time payment but you do have to upload your training split into the app manually
Love this... Ive never seen Lee's podcast before and clicked on the video because of Dr. Mike. Lee is absolutely top class and seems really humble... And still looks great!
Awesome interview, love how Lee even with all of his achievements and decades of training still brain dumped and asked sincere questions to understand Dr Mike and his methodology. Bring him on the channel more often
Lee is a pretty damn good host, he seems to have a good head above his shoulders and he's still looking insane despite his age. I'm truly impressed. Like for real.
Awesome. As a former exercise physiology teacher, and passionate for bodybuilding since the late 80's (btw I learned a lot from one specific article from you Lee, more than 30 years ago) this podcast is super interesting. Thank you Lee
Great interview. Mike can cover all the topics ( training , nutrition , etc ) . Love that Lee has branched out to current speakers / big names of the industry. Deff someone who is still up to date with what's happening 💯
Dr. Mike is absolutely correct with consistency, it drives me nuts when someone asks about my body, workouts, food intake, my day-to-day life, and how I manage everything while still training. The first thing is if you're not going to be disciplined and consistent, don't waste my time talking to me. It doesn't start with just going to the gym, it starts with that alarm going off at 5 am and rolling out of bed first and that's the hardest obstacle to overcome.
great interview love the mutual appreciation. one thing i thought was great is lee labrada giving plenty of space for the interviewee while unobtrusively giving his own insight
I love Dr Mike's frequent and varied use of analogy to present concepts in a way thatakes them stick. I also enjoy his partially hidden in this interview sense of humour, checkiness and irreverence.
While Dr Mike was talking + demonstrating, with chest arms and shoulders, so that we could see what he is talking about...the tank top or no shirt at all; made it more comprehensible.
Just when it was getting interesting he stopped it. Wanna hear more about his training style & Dr mike’s thoughts on it. We want a 4 hour podcast!! Great chemistry!!
11:22 When I do Flys on the smith machine I start on level 4 rear delts so I get even more stretch and I noticed it helped way more. I'm glad it wasn't all for nothing heh 😌 For context Smith machine goes 1-4 rear delts, then 1-4 pecs, and I do chest on 4 rear delts to get that maximum stretch 🙏🏾

Can we also talk about the steroid use aswell? We all know the profession of bodybuilding involves steroids. It would be nice to talk about the dosage and negatives and positives
Bro I’m trying to watch something else and it says I’m watching this bodybuilding thing about l8k dr Mike or something like that even the comments are about it like bro
This guy Mike is great and says alot of good stuff, but he isn't teaching Lee anything. Lee has done it all in Bodybuilding and has been consistently training for decades the right way. Days off, bulking up, off season, etc. All Great topics. Lee has done all that stuff correctly.
Lee seems like a well educated and a mild mannered person that I'd like to hang out with but between the two as a drug free lifter that's interested in jacked and strong I'm taking Mike's advice over Lee's anyday.
@@Gohan9112why would you listen to Mike instead of Lee? Both of them achieved their physique with gear so I don’t see how you being natural means anything in this context?
@@movestattoo4561because Mike is a scientist that has trained people from various fields including drug free recreational lifters unlike Lee who trains juiced up bodybuilders. This isn't a shade on Lee but his advice isn't relevant for everyone.
@@Gohan9112 okay cool. So you trust him because he’s trained people and see what works, I totally agree that that’s the best people to take advice from. I wouldn’t necessarily call him a scientist tho.
Hey Mike how does it feel to be a pure looser who still has to be on gear. Weak mind and body go hand in hand. Pure strength is working out without being a junkie remember that
He mentioned researchers, like Dr. Milo Wolf, but he's summarizing at a high level. Check out the work from Dr. Brad Schoenfeld's group and proteges, Dr. Eric Helms, Dr. Greg Nuckols, Jeff Nippard's channel, House of Hypertrophy Channel, etc

@@dcuccia I’m familiar with most of the research he’s describing.
