So nostalgic. My first car was a 99 Corolla. I drove it for more than 16 years. Got it brand new. It had just clocked in at 190900 one morning when I was rear ended on the freeway by a hit and run driver. It was totaled. 😢 (Jan 1999-Mar 2015) It’s in Toyota heaven now. ❤
Definitely agree. Very reliable vehicle overall. Just got to be prepared for a new alternator every 100k miles or so. Only issue I ran into with a Corolla.
1999 Silver Corolla LE. Bought it new back then. My first car that wasn't a hand me down. Grew up, got married, two kids, and 3 other cars now. 25 years later and my Corolla now has 366k miles and counting, and is still my daily commuter/beater. I'm perfectly serious when I say that I can drive it anywhere across the country and back with no problems.
Bought a 99 Corolla with O2 sensor light and a valve cover gasket leaking so it’s a easy ass fix 111k miles bought it off the second owner. The suspension was in surprisingly good condition
I briught 1998 Chvrolet Prizm that has exact engine configuration with Toyota Croolla LE way back in 2007 in CA. The car was from estate sale with 33K original miles. The person who brought it backed it to the trash and scratch the side. I paid 2.4K fot the car and has my friend fixed the body and internal interior that he got it used from the junk yard for $150.00. I drove it all over the place and put new struct and shock that I brought it from e-bay and bankrup dealer. The car passed state inspection with no issue. I got rid of this car for 2k in 2015 when it has over than 120K with no issue after I moved to CT.
@@carchampI got a 2000 with 190k for 1300 think it's good investment tbh I honestly love the car for what it is lol people are like always looking at the car lol
WIth money in the bank, driving around a functional one of these feels like freedom.
I can't agree more on that!

I've been daily driving one of those for the past year and it's really good. It's a comfortable car you're pretty much never scared to take anywhere

The King of cars!👑
Just bought a 98 corolla 2nd owner 160k for 1800 🤣I love it. Even had the dealership specs sheet from the window still in the car👌
Love it! :)
I just got the same for 1,200 at only 60,800 miles. Garage kept. Few dents nothing crazy noticeable. I feel Iike I stole it.
I just purchased a 99’ Corolla and it runs so well. I love driving that car
Here in Afghanistan like 90% of the cars are 90s corollas
I have the LE model and I love the exhaust sound passing 3500 rpm
I just bought one. It has a nice amount of power 🤣☝️great on gas too
Corollas have such a distinct exhaust sound
I have the LE model as well, first car and I’m really enjoying it
wow a 25 year old car that still seems to run great

Grew up with one of these. Mom routinely got 42 mpg out that thing and it NEVER broke down.

I've seen it happen. That old, boring, snail of a Toyota will outlast a brand new 2024, $80,000 piece of......German engineering by 200,000 miles. 😂😅🤣
$12,948 for that? Ahaha
Back in the 90s. I purchased this one for $1,800. Absolute steal of a deal.
@@carchamp then it's clear
