I really enjoyed walking with you to a place I will probably never get to see myself. Perhaps we could subscribe to each other and enjoy sharing more cities. The Old Town has been methodically destroyed after fall of the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. It was not during the fight, but after the Uprising capitulation. Prior to that all remaing inhavitants were expelled from the city and demolition by Germans have started. This was act of vengeance for Poles dared to fight for their freedom. Germans destroyed about 90% of defeated and deserted capital. The order of Poland's capital destruction came directly from Adolf Hitler as hateful revange. In the Warsaw Uprising which lasted 63 days Germans had killed about 200 thousand people, mostly civilians.
