Traditional Tunisian food not to be missed while in Tunis: 1 - Brik 2 - Couscous with lamb meat 3 - Mloukhiya 4 - Madfouna 5 - Fricassé 6 - Plat tunisien 7 - Kaftaji
This couscous looks so good ! And yeah baguette is known in Tunisia, the bread you ate with the ojja is a direct influence of French food culture. Tunisia was a French protectorate for almost a century so a lot of influences remained, on top of the French language that you can see and hear everywhere :)
Hi buddy, I'm glad you liked the couscous and ojja! If you get the chance, I highly recommend trying ojja with merguez (Tunisian-style sausage). It adds a wonderful depth of flavor and authenticity to the dish. I've recently become a follower of your channel and I must say, I really appreciate your unique perspective on trying the "real stuff" as you called it 🙂. It's refreshing to see someone genuinely interested in exploring and appreciating traditional recipes and flavors from different cultures. Your approach not only introduces these amazing dishes to a wider audience but also honors the culinary traditions behind them. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to seeing more of your content!
Nice video and nice foods you can try el mloukhia and sandwitch leblabi in bizarte or the shakshouka in nabeul These foods are among the best foods in Tunisia.
We are so glad that you liked Tunisian 🇹🇳 couscous , and the Ojja ❤ you need to try( Rouz Djerbi dish ! ) You would love that bro 👊 and if you would like to try the best sea food ever go to La Goulette in Tunis ( Halk el Wed ) in the big street of sea food ! That’s not far away from you . And night life you can find it in Gammarth Tunis a lot of night clubs . And al Marsa you have nice beach to swim with family , enjoy ☺️
What a brilliant video, Sir ! It's indeed wonderful of you to show us more Tunisian foods and desserts. Good reviews from you both. Thanks for sharing and l guess your next destination is Morocco 😊 Safe travels always.
hi, i really enjoyed your content ... since you are in capital and not far just 2 min where you got the couscous in the passage next to metro station there's an other street called " rue de ghana" (ghana street) right there there's a lot of restaurant wich offer you many tuinsian's plates like "keftaji, plat tunisien , garlic plate wich in french is plat à l'ail and in arabic صحن ثوم " pronociation is "SHAN THOUUM" ect.... also next to the metro station in liberty avenue "avenue de liberté" there's a wonderfull lemon, juice cakes shop wich belong to my freind we called in arabic "NAWRi" it's very old shop wich offer you a wonderfull lemon juice ... when you go inside just tell him "borj wa tassa" wich mean piece of cake and cop of lemon juice" ... also close to your appartement go to "rome avenue" where you've been there your first day in capital there's a famous shop and right there you can ask for bambalony frikassy and brik. take care and be safe dude
Thanks mate, unfortunately we have something booked very soon so we will not be able to do much now, but we will return to do so, especially the food stuff we like here
I don’t know, I really don’t mind eating animal feet. It seems they all turn gelatinous anyway. I am not sure I’ve ever had pig’s feet though. The Jamaicans make Cow Foot Soup, which is really delicious! Also, I make chicken broth by boiling the feet. Animal feet really do have a lot of flavor. I think I may also have had chicken feet cooked Thai style. I suppose it’s all in what you are open to trying.🤷🏻♀️ I am still waiting for you to try Shakshuka! (Unless I somehow missed it) It’s one of my favorite dishes! That Ojja looks insanely delicious!❤
I'm tunisian but i still never eat lablabi with with hargma(cow feet), i find it a bit strong(i mean the taste) when i saw him eating that i knew he wouldn't like it cuz most tunisians i know don't like it too, i guess if many locals don't like it you don't expect guests to like it 😂
As you can probably tell, I am far from your typical American! I know there is so much more beautiful life outside my own country! Much love to all of you from USA!❤
Saha l Kouskous nd you should try it with OSBAN if you still here.. Kouskous osban, is the best meal on global earth .. PS every tuunisian knows that Bagette is french ..
Oh I will try Osban next time, we have travelled on. Good to know everyone knows Baguette is French, but I talked to some young people, also in Morocco, that did not know, possibly because it is so embedded in daily life now. The same with French Fries. It is everywhere in the Maghreb. anyway, that couscous was still divine.
You know when the food is Good...when it mess up your face and still you go on 😂 um enjoying your videos about my country high quality vlog and humor also ❤
i suggest you to visit the center of the city Mahdia. it is one of the most beautiful cities in Tunisia and has a rich history and monuments everywhere. there are nice friendly people there and people from Sfax go on holiday to Mahdia. even the food is special there. there is no video on youtube about my city all youtubers only visit al jam
U should try couscous with meat mate it's delicious, then chicken I'm Tunisian I live in England my wife she's crazy with our food every week she want Tunisian dish
A couscous that comes with a green roasted pepper is very likely delicious. That's my rule of thumb to assess couscous before ever tasting it. The semolina looks fluffy too.
Enjoy your Tunisian food ! ... However; there is no such thing as Ojja with escalope in the traditional Tunisian cuisine. Ojja should only be eaten with "merguez" (beef or lamb sausage) or with shrimps.
Oh I would SO love to try the foods in Algeria and Libya. Very difficult to get a visa for us, as we do not have a residency. Algeria is my childhood dream.
My girlfriend is american and that's the main thing she like in tunisia haha bon appetit brother enjoy your time , bless you and your family 🙏❤
It really is very special

OJJA looks very intriguing and enticing!! couscous plate could have been a bit bigger to contain the overflow of food 🙂
Always could be bigger
A couscous that comes with a green roasted pepper is very likely delicious. That's my rule of thumb to assess couscous before ever tasting it. The semolina looks fluffy too.

Your verdict please: which the best the marocain couscous or the tunisian couscous ? ;).. please don't be diplomatic .. haha
To tell you the truth in Morocco we had only a home made beef couscous which was great, but this one was also very great, can't really compare.
Enjoy your Tunisian food ! ... However; there is no such thing as Ojja with escalope in the traditional Tunisian cuisine. Ojja should only be eaten with "merguez" (beef or lamb sausage) or with shrimps.
Oh okay, thanks for the info
If u need more views you try to cover any food items in the videos, so that more people will watch i guess.
