    Always love fishing where I'm not supposed to.

      It's that little extra rush. I try not to trespass or anything, but if there is an uncertainty whether I'm allowed to be there then I'm all about it!

    As a Savannah born kid, I always wanted to do it. My mother said locals use to catch eels on worms and shrimp plus other migratory fish such as white perch and stripers. Depending on salinity, you can catch bream. Natural bait would be key. As an American tourist in London, I caught fish out of the River Thames (eels and their freshwater, hook swallowing flounder). Became my own tourist attraction.

      Yeah, live bait is going to be the ticket. I'll be making that video at some point.

    I had always heard in that shipping channel for your fishing because that’s what it is is a shipping channel the water is extremely polluted. They say you could probably pull a three headed fish out of there.

    • @fishincontrol
      @fishincontrol  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've caught many fish in shipping channels, none with multiple heads. This shipping channel happens to be the Savannah river.

      Definitely some fish that I wouldn't eat. There's many factory's/plants that have runoff into that river also. I've seen people fishing at the waste water treatment plant runoff into the Savannah river right down the river from where he is. 🤢🤮

      That's next on the agenda. When I get back in town I'm going to take some live shrimp down there.

      @fishincontrol  ปีที่แล้ว

      Are they still in operation? I'll check them out for live. Still not a single bait shop in the area that sells fresh dead as far as I know.

    I think being that it's a public river walk with a railing, it's perfectly legal to fish there. I was considering doing so myself tomorrow

    Not sure why you would chose to fish somewhere simply to see if you can do it without getting caught. Fines can be pretty steep for fishing without permission and there are plenty of places open for public fishing that you can go to. There is enough drama in this world without going and purposely looking to create more.

    • @fishincontrol

      There are zero "no fishing" signs there and I caused zero disturbance. And I know everybody who is in to fishing and comes to River Street has wondered about it. I looked into the laws online and looked for posted signs for weeks before trying it (I work around there).

      There is always a Ken or Karen in every comment section, and here he is, showing up for roll call. Savannah local here, there are zero "no fishing" signs, and I'd say that drunken bachelorette parties cause much more of a disturbance. I love your videos, keep fishing!

      @@christyevans3007 No signs and no local ordinances would seem to me to be tacit permission. It is a public space.
