Btw ABBA have 2 leadsingers.Blonde angel Agnetha and sensual spicy brunette Frida. For some millions of music fans both were the hugest teenage crush, and for me the two most beautiful flowers in the garden of the musicverse.
Benny was on the piano, taught himself. I met him in Stockholm a while ago, so lovely, given the band has sold over 400 million albums, I asked him about his time in ABBA, he just said, that was just 10 years of my life, I've moved on to other things. I thought wow, you've underestimated your brilliance!
All 4 Abba members are famous for their humble aura and their 'friendly ability" despite the legends they are.Benny is very friendly person, kinda cheerful and good hearted.
Sweden's magical gift to the world, and not just music, the Broadway stage and film as well. Agnetha and AnnaFrid, stunning vocalists--there music is pure joy.
Chase you should definitely go down this rabbit hole. My favorite Abba songs are "Dancing Queen", "Mamma Mia", "Knowing Me, Knowing You" "Take a Chance on Me" and "Fernando".
so happy to see younger generations discover ABBA music these is my favourite ABBA song of all times, 'The Masterpiece' for excellence between more ABBA masterpieces "S.O.S." (1975) has a story It was one of Their first recordings after the greatest success of "Waterloo" in Eurovisión, just four months later, in August 1974 But it waited almost a year for its release, in June 1975 at Sweden, September 1975 at UK and US (the next singles after Waterloo was, in these order: Ring Ring (re-entry), So long (at 1974), and "I do I do I do I do I do", but didn't repeat their first succes when " "S.O.S." have your chance to be a single, it picks at #6 in U.K. and #15 in U.S. being Their second hit in both countries at the same time, and six #1 (including Germany Australia) and more Top 10 in several countries of all continents and after these, ABBA had 18 Top 10 consecutives in UK between 1975/1982, for example: Mamma Mía, Fernando, Dancing Queen, Take a chance con me, Chiquitita, The winner takes it all, Super trouper etc "S.O.S." in less than 200 seconds is a gem, a Masterpiece! The transitions from the dramatic opening (a dingy piano and a cracking voice of the blonde singerAgnetha) to a powerful rock beat with catchy pop chorus in the middle are brilliant these is a perfomance in August 1975 at Norway, when ABBA was searching for their second hit and a few weeks before "S.O.S." enter and exploded in the charts and the succes of ABBA was massive all over the world ABBA marked an era in many ways One was the musical leadership of its beautiful and lofty female vocalists as the center of attention Another was the use of contrasts, such as sad lyrics with catchy melodies and harmonies And their recording tecnique "wall of sound" gives ABBA more powerfull ABBA, as in its time BEATLES, left an unforgettable mark on several generations It is good music that lasts and stays alive and well
Benny on the piano is a genius. He's the Schubert of the 20th Century. Apart from Abba you should check the musical "Chess" (and also "Christina"). Those musicals are great. He's also done a lot of Swedish folk.
Hi Chase, Abba is very probably the most popular pop band in history. You are in for a very big treat if you choose to investigate their amazing catalog of music. Suggest starting with "Dancing Queen." That one has 796 million views.
Despite their European music origins even USA based black hip hopers The Fugees sampled ABBA 's (Name of the Game song) for one of their hits. SOS is an acknowleged sonic masterpiece.
When they were hot in the 70s hardly anyone alive didn't not know who ABBA (SOFT A) was. A true super group that incorporated classic music, European folk (especially Spanish and Greek music), pop, disco and Rock to produce this incredibly lush sound.
ABBA 👍(like yabba... dabba... doo) They are from Sweden and their beginning was 2 couples: 🅰️ Agnetha: blond singer & 🅱️ Björn: guitar, songwriter. and 🅱️ Benny Anderson: piano, songwriter & 🅰️ Anni-Frid (aka Frida): brunette/redhead singer. They made the... BEST ⭐ POP ⭐ MUSIC ⭐ EVER . Alternate lead singers, great catchy melodies, wonderful voices, better harmonies... and SO MANY HITS...: 'Money money money' 'Dancing Queen' 'Mamma Mia' 'The Winner takes it all' 'Gimme gimme gimme'....etc ...etc.... Hope to see you soon, Chase. Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱🤗👍
Was 14 years old when Abba won Eurovision and, a year later, when this song came on the radio it heralded the start of a global phenomenon. Great to see new generations discovering their music. Just before Christmas saw the Voyage concert in London. Such memories and emotions again triggered in me. Timeless, incomparable talent. Am enjoying watching your reactions.
They had 23+ completely different worldhits, more then 400 million albums sold. Came back in 21 after 40 years with a new album. The album tracks are just as great and original as their known hits. It is a great journey to go through their catalogue
This is a n absolute sacred classic in the stratosphere of pop music ,written by the 2 genius songwritters of the band pianist Benny and lyricist Bjorn sung imo by the 2 most gorgeous female leadsingers any band could ever had, our Agnetha and Anni-Frid.
ABBA ( Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny, Anni-Frid “ Frida “) is a band from Sweden who were initially active from 1972-1982. The Name comes from the 4 members initials. They were 2 married couples but both marriages ended in divorce in the late 70’s / early 80’s. Their big break came from winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with Waterloo. Benny wrote the music and Bjorn wrote the lyrics, Agnetha and Frida share lead lead vocals but the magic happens when they sing together “The 3rd Voice of ABBA”. They have sold over 400 million albums worldwide. Their music is the bases for the musical Mamma Mia and the 2 films Mamma Mia ! (2008) and Mamma Mia Here we go again (2018). They were approached a few years ago to put on new concerts using digital versions of themselves as they were in the 1970’s and as a result of this they decided to record a couple of new songs to be performed as well as their older hits. They enjoyed recording them so much that they decided to do a new album called Voyage which was released on 5th Nov 2021 almost 40 years after their last Album The Visitors and has sold over 2.5 million so far. I suggest you listen to the Greatest Hits Album entitled ABBA GOLD which was 1st album to spend 1,000 weeks on the UK charts enjoying 3 spells at number 1 (1992, 1999 & 2008) and today it is still in the charts. but also listen to their Album songs and b sides because they contain many a hidden gems many that could have been singles.
You know Benny Andersson, the guy on the piano, married the auburn haired girl Anni-Frid aka Frida and Agnetha the blonde girl married Bjorn the guitarist. They were 2 couples from Sweden. That's where the name comes from Agnetha Bjorn Benny Anni-Frid Pronounced ahh bahh Both girls had fantastic voices and took turn on lead vocals but when the two harmonized together it was often called ABBAS third voice. No one can harmonize like Frida and Agnetha. The men wrote all the songs and lyrics and played most any instrument (Bennys first and favorite instrument is the accordian) they did back up vocals too. They were huge and i mean HUGE in the 70s and 80s and have sold over 400 million records. Only the Beatles have sold more. Try "Dancing Queen" Fernando" Mama Mia" "Chiquitita "
Nice reaction and extra props for reacting to the live version of this although some of their videos are fun in a retro sort of way. This group were famed for the catchy compositions of the males Benny (Piano) & Bjorn (Guitar) and the stunning vocals of the female leads, especially the purity of Agnetha's voice (Blonde) but also the warm chocolatey vocals of Anni-Frid (Brunette) but also as duet who harmonised to perfection and of course it helped that they were beautiful and their stage presence was off the charts without any need for gimmicks or dance routines.
WARNING: If you do decide to go down the ABBA rabbit hole, be sure to take plenty of food and drink with you, coz you may be down there for quite a long time... 😉
Hello! New follower from Sweden and hopefully you are going to react to a lot of great ABBA-songs. You have about at least 30 more fantastic hits :) Nice reaction, thanks!
These are ABBA, the iconic Swedish pop quartet, the best, most versatile and most important of the 70s, in the post-BEATLES decade (the revolutionary group of the 60s) ABBA, like the BEATLES in their time, It was a musical and cultural phenomenon, and its legacy lives on ABBA is the biggest musical act in the history of continental Europe and the non-English speaking world They are the first non-English speaking group. have considerable success in major English-speaking countries (mostly in England and Australia) And it is the first group to break with the hegemony of North American, English and Australian artists. in the music market dominated by British culture. Ah, that's Benny Andersson. He's one of the B's in ABBA. The two girls both sang lead in varying songs. They were, and still are, incredibly successful. They are all aged 73 to 78 now.
In "ABBA The Movie", ABBA performed this live, in Sydney, Australia, during their 1977 Tour. They did it during a torrential rainstorm, with thousands of fans, braving the downpour. I have the DVD, and it is amazing.
If you look at Benny Andersons (On piano/keyboard) discography it will blow your mind. Or.... Do you know of ANY other band that released a new album after a 40 year pause? Benny for the melodies, Björn the lyrics and the girls Agneta (The blond one) and Frida on angelic vocals. Oh, I forgot. They have an ongoing show in London with themselves as ABBAtars. Been there, seen it. Blew my mind. Knocked it out of the park. Like WTF? Are they real. You have to see it and then you´ll understand.
This was on an Australian night time show called, "The Don Lane Show " back in the late 70's I think. I know because I was born in Australia and as a kid I remember seeing that show as a kid back then . ABBA were super stars in Australia back then they were everywhere ! Great memories.I had a mad crush on Agnetha as a kid back then she was my angel . Pretty pathetic ha ? Hej från ett fan som nu bor i Europa!
they took the name from there initials Agnetha Bjorn Benny Anni Frid ABBA ❤❤❤ was fortunate enough to see ABBA live in Melbourne Australia Sidney Myer Music Bowl March 1977
Abba were one of the GOAT bands. They dominated around the same time as the Beatles. They dominated their era just as the Bee Gees dominated the Disco era. Cover bands keep their music alive, and so do movies such as Mamma Mia.
Welcome to the wonderful world of ABBA. You have over 100 songs to listen to. The majority are hit material, the rest are good. Dive in and take your pick. ABBA released a new top-selling album after 40 years absence! When you have heard all ABBA the adventure does not have to end there. The ladies each had hits before and after ABBA - some in English, most in Swedish - but good. Then Benny crested his own band and introduced us to Tommy Körberg and Helen Sjöholm - also great singers. Björn, the guitarist and lyric writer continued to write for others and wrote a couple of musicals including "Chess". Then there are the two "Mamma Mia" films based on ABBA songs and a couple of Australian films which feature ABBA music. To crown all that ABBA have built their ow theatre in London, England where they appear as "ABBAtars". Good listening!
Great to have Benny get some recognition. The singers, Agnetha and Frida typically get the most attention, which is understandable because they are phenomenal voices, but the contribution from the guys is just as important. Bjorn is the guitarist and has collaborated with Benny on a number of great musical projects. I think you might like the musical they wrote called "Chess". You can check out the bigest dong called "One Night in Bangkok" sung by Murray Head. Keep digging into ABBA and other great music from the past. I'm subscribing to you.
Dude, I grew up on these guys and this song is a masterpiece ! Some have called it the most perfect pop song ever made. Benny , the guy on the piano , is a modern day Chopin a piano genius ! I had such a crush on the blond girl Agnetha when I was a kid . She was my angel I had a poster of her in my room , the only real angel I ever saw in my life ,most girls today are like , ah , no thanks ! I'm glad you experienced ABBA's musical magic , these guys have sold more than a billion records worldwide !
also nice to know that this is not the original video clip, but this song does have an original video clip. And abba was the first band to start working with music videos with this one being the first, queen and many other artists soon followed. abba not only created brilliant music, but they were also the inventors of music videos!
🤩I love the Swedish version of "S.O.S.", from Agnetha's solo album "Elva Kvinnor I Ett Hus". I was a teenager in 1975, and I have good memories from that era of ABBA's heyday.
Agnetha wasn't the lead singer - Björn and Benny decided for each song, wich of the girls voices were the most suitable for the song - Agnetha or Frida!!
Lovely song from ABBA and, more importantly, if the cat outfits don't make you very happy then you need a strong cup of tea and a good talk to yourself!
Benny Andersson was the pianist, composer & arranger, Agnetha Faltskog was the blonde vocalist, Ani-Frid Lyngstad the dark-haired vocalist & Bjorn Ulvaeus the lyricist & guitarist. Agnetha & Bjorn were married, as were Benny & Ani-Frid.
I think that first "S.O.S." was recorded by ABBA in August 1974 and released first in self-title album ABBA, and after as a single in 1975 maybe could be that at the same time Agnetha recorded her solo version in swedish for her solo album in swedish released in 1975 but not recorded by Agnetha before they formed ABBA, wich was in 1972
dear young friend Today it's been exactly two months since you started with ABBA, and just with this song S.O.S. and in these two months your channel grew with your immersion in ABBA songs S.O.S. It already has +8,000 views and is already in the Top20 of your entire channel but there is more Dancing Queen, the second one you did about ABBA, is about to reach 10,000 views, and it is #12 on your channel and growing, I estimate that it will enter your Top10 very soon currently you have 6 ABBA songs in your Top25 #12 Dancing Queen #15 Gimme gimme gimme #17 S.O.S. #19 Chiquitita #22 The winner takes it all #25 Super Trouper
John Lennon said this song was beautiful. Pete Townsend, Ray Davies and even Sid Vicious said this is the perfect pop song. There’s a reason ABBA is timeless. Their songs take me back to my childhood!!
Incredibly talented group and wildly successful. Yes, your first pronunciation of their name is correct. This particular performance is to playback. The piano isn't making that sound. It's a synth, probably a Minimoog played by Benny. Two women, Agnetha and Anni-Frid aka Frida, are the main lead vocalists and the two men, their husbands/romantic partners during the 70's are the songwriters. The guitarist, Bjorn, also has some lead vocals and even Benny on keyboards leads on one song. There are other videos where they do perform this song live.
P.s. If you do react to further ABBA videos, always go for the longer album versions please. A lot of reactors mistakenly opt for shortened versions and miss out on much greatness.
I am surprised that i often see hip-hopers and rappers messing with Abba's or even The Carpenters pure pop sound, that is totally different kind of music field. Can you explainChase? What do you feel about it.BTW hip hop band Fugees sampled an Abba song back in 1996.
Whilst the video you were reacting to is labeled as live, this performance is actually lip synced. There’s not a huge amount of genuine live material. ABBA were masters of the recording studio and didn’t like to recreate versions that didn’t sound as good.
Dude…the joy you exhibit whilst watching these videos is so captivating. And it’s giving me feel-good vibes. Subscribed!
Welcome to the Music, you just witnessed one of the worlds greatest pop bands ever existed.

You're gonna love it!
Benny on the piano composed the music. He is self taught. Doesn't read nor write music. He's a genius!
Same for Paul McCartney. People have told him he should learn to read music. Paul's answer, I've done pretty well so far.
Björn wrote all musik with him!! But lyrics just Björn
WOW !
@@chasevickerss
There are videos with only piano playing by Benny Andersson
Also the Bee Gees didn't read music but wrote many classic songs too.
On the piano is Benny Andersson, absolutely brilliant pianist and composer!
CRAZY !
Was Rowlf from the muppets based on Benny?
This super group is ABBA! They’ve sold over 1 Billion records worldwide!
Absolutely love ABBA
ME TO !
ABBA song The Name Of The Game is phenomenal

WOW !
Chase you should definitely go down this rabbit hole. My favorite Abba songs are "Dancing Queen", "Mamma Mia", "Knowing Me, Knowing You" "Take a Chance on Me" and "Fernando".
WILL DO !
Abba is a must for music history...nice job on the reaction
THANK YOU !
Pete Townsend of The Who said SOS was the perfect pop song. Benny and Bjorn were great songwriters and arrangers.
so happy to see younger generations discover ABBA music
these is my favourite ABBA song of all times,
'The Masterpiece' for excellence between more ABBA masterpieces
"S.O.S." (1975)
has a story
It was one of Their first recordings after the greatest success of "Waterloo" in Eurovisión,
just four months later, in August 1974
But it waited almost a year for its release, in June 1975 at Sweden, September 1975 at UK and US
(the next singles after Waterloo was, in these order:
Ring Ring (re-entry), So long (at 1974), and "I do I do I do I do I do",
but didn't repeat their first succes
when " "S.O.S." have your chance to be a single,
it picks at #6 in U.K. and #15 in U.S. being Their second hit in both countries at the same time,
and six #1 (including Germany Australia) and more Top 10 in several countries of all continents
and after these, ABBA had 18 Top 10 consecutives in UK between 1975/1982, for example:
Mamma Mía, Fernando, Dancing Queen,
Take a chance con me, Chiquitita, The winner takes it all, Super trouper etc
"S.O.S." in less than 200 seconds is a gem, a Masterpiece!
The transitions from the dramatic opening
(a dingy piano and a cracking voice of the blonde singerAgnetha)
to a powerful rock beat with catchy pop chorus in the middle are brilliant
these is a perfomance in August 1975 at Norway,
when ABBA was searching for their second hit
and a few weeks before "S.O.S." enter and exploded in the charts
and the succes of ABBA was massive all over the world
ABBA marked an era in many ways
One was the musical leadership of its beautiful and lofty female vocalists as the center of attention
Another was the use of contrasts, such as sad lyrics with catchy melodies and harmonies
And their recording tecnique "wall of sound" gives ABBA more powerfull
ABBA, as in its time BEATLES, left an unforgettable mark on several generations
It is good music that lasts and stays alive and well
Welcome to Abba. The best band ever. More Abba reactions please and then you’ll get another follower!!!! 😂😂

THANK YOU !
These are ABBA, the iconic Swedish pop quartet,
the best, most versatile and most important of the 70s,
in the post-BEATLES decade (the revolutionary group of the 60s)
ABBA, like the BEATLES in their time,
It was a musical and cultural phenomenon, and its legacy lives on
ABBA is the biggest musical act
in the history of continental Europe
and the non-English speaking world
They are the first non-English speaking group.
have considerable success in major English-speaking countries
(mostly in England and Australia)
And it is the first group to break with the hegemony of
North American, English and Australian artists.
in the music market dominated by British culture.
ABBA is an acronym of the initials of their names;
Initially there were also two couples:
A- Agnetha (blonde lead vocals) and
B- Björn (guitarist and composer)
B- Benny (pianist and composer) &
A- Anni Frid (brunette lead vocal)
(both couples separated before the group's breakup in 1982)
ABBA recorded between 1972/1982,
They have a wonderful series of more than 20 global hits,
included nine UK number 1 singles:
Waterloo
Mamma mia
Fernando
Dancing Queen
Knowing me, knowing you
The name of the game
Take a chance with me
The winner takes it all
Super trouper
And after more than 35 years the four members of ABBA return to the studio in 2017.
and they initially recorded two new songs, until finishing a new full album "Voyage"
between 2017/2021 published in November 2021
and it's a global success
And last May 2022
The four members of ABBA attend the premiere of the new Voyage concerts
(with avatars of themselves) at the new ABBA Arena in London, UK
(another great success, with tickets on sale until November 2024)
The current age of all ABBA members is now
73 Agnetha Fältskog ; 76 Benny Andersson (turns 77 this December)
78 Björn Ulvaeus ; 78 Anni Frid (Frida) Lyngstad
I hope to see more reactions to ABBA
my next suggestion is to
"Money money money" (1976)
for you to see the other lead singer, Frida, on lead vocals,
and for you to see another brilliant demonstration by Benny on the piano
God bless you
my best greetings from
Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷
South America
THANK YOU SO MUCH !
What as surprise! Eduardo commenting on an ABBA reaction video!

Great reaction. Abba are legends. From my country Sweden 😊

Abba were one of the GOAT bands. They dominated around the same time as the Beatles. They dominated their era just as the Bee Gees dominated the Disco era. Cover bands keep their music alive, and so do movies such as Mamma Mia.
Benny on the piano released a great solo-album a few years ago, called "Piano". You'll love it.
MORE ABBA!Don't be late.
ON IT !
Benny Andersson on piano & Bjorn Ulvaeus on guitar

Agnetha was goddess level gorgeous.

This is my favorite ABBA song! ♥
Welcome to the wonderful world of ABBA!! Your starting with on of their classics too. Enjoy what is to come!
Dance (While the music still goes on)Waterloo record 1974
Your an Abba fan now ..enjoy..your in for a great time...
Yes! Thank you!

WOW !
They were, sorry are pure talent
Agnetha sings lead on this one. I recommend that you try one of the songs where Frida sings lead next. I recommend Money, Money Money or Fernando.
ON IT !
I think you are falling down the ABBA rabbit hole. Enjoy the ride.
great reaction
Great song!
ABBA - awsome band.
If you like Benny's skills on the piano, do listen to ABBA's - Intermesso no 1 - it's out of the world!
WILL DO !
Say Abba like you do in Jabbadabbadoo..
ᗅᗺᗷᗅ
Lasse Hallström did all of their videos in the 70s and 80s except for the last two
He also made ᗅᗺᗷᗅ The Movie
Dude, I grew up on these guys and this song is a masterpiece !
Some have called it the most perfect pop song ever made.
Benny , the guy on the piano , is a modern day Chopin a piano genius !
I had such a crush on the blond girl Agnetha when I was a kid .
She was my angel I had a poster of her in my room ,
the only real angel I ever saw in my life ,most girls today are like , ah , no thanks !
ILL HAVE TO CHECK THOSE OUT!
Agnetha wasn't the lead singer - Björn and Benny decided for each song, wich of the girls voices were the most suitable for the song - Agnetha or Frida!!
You are very clever. You understand that ABBA is the best supergroup ever 🐈⬛🐈♥️
Wow, thank you
Lovely song from ABBA and, more importantly, if the cat outfits don't make you very happy then you need a strong cup of tea and a good talk to yourself!
BTW - if you want more Benny's brilliance, review, "Intermezzo number 1", "andante andante" and "dancing queen"

This song was originally recorded by Agnetta before they formed ABBA. I have the original lyrics in Swedish LOL
I think that first "S.O.S." was recorded by ABBA in August 1974
and released first in self-title album ABBA, and after as a single in 1975
maybe could be that at the same time Agnetha recorded her solo version in swedish
for her solo album in swedish released in 1975
but not recorded by Agnetha before they formed ABBA, wich was in 1972
dear young friend
Today it's been exactly two months since you started with ABBA, and just with this song S.O.S.
and in these two months your channel grew with your immersion in ABBA songs
S.O.S. It already has +8,000 views and is already in the Top20 of your entire channel
but there is more
Dancing Queen, the second one you did about ABBA, is about to reach 10,000 views, and it is #12 on your channel and growing, I estimate that it will enter your Top10 very soon
currently you have 6 ABBA songs in your Top25
#12 Dancing Queen
#15 Gimme gimme gimme
#17 S.O.S.
#19 Chiquitita
#22 The winner takes it all
#25 Super Trouper
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! ❤️
John Lennon said this song was beautiful. Pete Townsend, Ray Davies and even Sid Vicious said this is the perfect pop song. There’s a reason ABBA is timeless. Their songs take me back to my childhood!!
Can u react Winner takes it all by abba.. Its more emotional..
ADDED TO THE LIST !
Oh you have to do Dancing Queen.

It's Benny Andersson on that Piano

This is not a live version though. But some earlier Top of the pops appearances are live.
They were offered 1000.000.000 dollars to go back together for a tour. They turned it down
El grán Benny Andersson!!
I am surprised that i often see hip-hopers and rappers messing with Abba's or even The Carpenters pure pop sound, that is totally different kind of music field. Can you explainChase? What do you feel about it.BTW hip hop band Fugees sampled an Abba song back in 1996.
I prefer the version where they are wearing t- shirt dresses on american bandstand.
Check out Peter Bence if you want to see a panio make noises
haha other stuf, yeah vey gota cple songs.........
You should watch benny no intermezzo no 1 and the live version of the way old friends do
WILL DO !
Benny doid have a little bit of problem with drink for a while but it never affected his playing he did solo album of his piano playing
vers 3 lead singers, even benny can sing lead 2, top tier musos here.
tink vey track some bars frm an electric organ? ovr v elc piano?, or it cld b an early synth?
React to abba Rock me
WILL DO !
v 2 men write all v songs, try chiquittita
Whilst the video you were reacting to is labeled as live, this performance is actually lip synced. There’s not a huge amount of genuine live material. ABBA were masters of the recording studio and didn’t like to recreate versions that didn’t sound as good.
Fun fact: this ain't "live". :)
