I stopped playing Magic about ten years ago. I didn't even use sleeves. Now, I play bot matches on MTG, and *occasionally* play against humans. My constructed decks are worse than pre-cons. And yet I am constantly watching your videos. You're just an entertaining communicator.
Many magic the gathering bot players who occasionally play against real humans are saying The Professor is a great content creator!
I still wish there was a precon que on arena so there's a mode where everyone's deck is just about as bad as each others XD
I think you having facial hair depends if you want to have an older vibe or not you with facial hair made you look older ( though I think you looked more like a professor with the facial hair)
@@nickbopp4819 i've been playing forever, was a former tournament player and I agree. I love playing weird themes and jank but Arena is a no fun allowed zone.
Decks are so sweaty at every level of ranked and even the "casual" formats like brawl or unranked.
@@nickbopp4819 There is! Starter deck duel is exactly this, there's 10 decks, one for each colour combo. A couple of the decks *are* better than the others in my experience but it's still pretty fun as something to do when I'm sick of playing my only real constructed deck and don't have the gold for limited.

My number one most wanted card was Basking Broodscale (it was card 1, pack 1 in my prerelease so I was very happy with that) and the landscapes were a close 2nd behind that. They're no untapped dual lands, but they provide a great level of consistency. They will be a great addition to a whole bunch of decks.

Man, I wish there was a pauper scene local to me. The format is so interesting
O damn, never seen the landscapes before and super hyped to play em in edh.
Landscapes are wild as common and also such a great, budget friendly addition to Commander. Adds colorless mana for when it matters (as it nowadays often does on many cards, e.g. Null Elemental Blast), fetches whichever of the three basic land types is needed, gives a shuffle effect, thins the deck and draws a card.
The card will be used highly and will rise in price for commander
@@heath1948 How so? People are opening massive amounts of mh3, so the availability of a common along with the three color requirement will prob keep the price well at bay for a long time. Certainly those too can rise a bit at some point if Wizards are foolish enough not to reprint them at all.

I put together a rakdos artifact deck in draft and that thing easily got to +5 or higher. I can't even imagine how hard it would hit in a format with the artifact lands.
Had 1 game where I already had a flyer out, put down 2 rams and equipped them to the flyer, then did 14 damage in 1 turn out of nowhere

Hot take: it shouldn’t have been pre banned, unlike glitters it doesn’t pump toughness. Also unlike cranial plating it can’t be equipped at instant speed.

ty for clarifying at the end of the opening that it was the pauper committee that banned it. Wotc doesn't design around pauper and they've said that openly. When you use "they" in the same sentence when talking about two different entities it can be confusing.
idk if this is controversial or not but I think that some of the art of this set is fantastic I hadn't seen the art for deem inferior but that is such evocative art and it feels like such a throw back to the more expressive art that old school magic had, without it reminding me of over the top secret lair treatments

One thing I found kind of concerning here is the idea that pauper might need to get rid of the bridges. What does that do for the game? Isn't it good for a format to have versatile manabases? Speaking of, these Landscapes look great, I might need to get me some.

->Any basic you need for tri decks or 3/4 or 3/5 of the lands you need
->If you draw it the turn of chances are you need the fast mana a evolving wilds/terramorphic wont give.
->Helps thin your deck like the fetch lands
->Can play it and keep the one mana open for an instant spell then crack it at the end of turn for the land untapped.
It's prob one of the strongest commons also I think he forgot about Writhing Crysalis a GR2 that simply casting it refunds the 2 by giving you two eldrazi tokens even if countered. Then becomes a 4/5 reach if you sac the tokens, and if you play more it just keeps getting bigger.

Always interesting to hear what’s strong in other formats, as someone who mostly plays commander I thought they were all trash (besides maybe the cycle trines), yet in pauper I can see how they’re stronger.
Not that you should listen to other's opinions on your looks, like you said, but personally, I liked the stubble/short beard look. Congratz on 1 million prof. When i was getting back into Magic when commander masters annonced slivers, (my favorite deck from back in the day,) your videos and channel were of the first i was regularly watching. I hope you keep making great content for many magic the gathering players to enjoy until your hearts content!

honestly I believe that the landscapes in general, not even pauper, are amazing lands and very easy slots for tri-colored decks.

just built a RG eldrazi deck with the new Writhing Chrysalis and it was super good (and fun). excited to see more green stompy in the format

The thing with Sneaky Snacker is that it's most relevant in the Madness Rakdos deck and it's not as if you are now splashing Blue, you just discard it at some point and it will reanimate itself.

My problem with Deem Inferior is that it doesn't suit Draw-Go decks due to being Sorcery-speed. Those decks want mana available on their opponent's turn.
I haven't played Pauper at all, but I love Pioneer/Explorer Arclight Phoenix and Sneaky Snacker gives me those vibes. Too bad it comes back tapped instead of hasted, but now I'm tempted to play around with it in pauper
