- In this video I show you how I shortened the original BMW R80 clutch cable to make it work with the new handlebars and clutch lever. I also show you how you can solder new nipples onto the Bowden cable with a very simple DIY honey pot setup.

Nimmst du die R80 mit auf die Bike Shed?
Das ist aber ein unglücklicher Zufall. Ich habe letztens gesehen, dass Leute das mit einer Nüsterklemme temporär gefixt haben. Kommt natürlich drauf an, wo der reißt aber ist eine coole Idee. Und klein genug fürs Bordwerkzeug.

Wieso bist du nicht auf einen hydraulischen ‘‘Kupplungszug‘‘ gegangen?
Moin! Gibt es da ein Conversion-Kit? Grundsätzlich mag ich den minimalistischen Look. Aber wäre interessant mal anzugucken, wenn‘s ein Kit gibt.
Es gibt ein Kit von SWT Sports für 2V Boxer ab 1980.Aber mir fällt gerade ein dass dein Moped von 1978 ist oder?
@ueberhopft4278 ah, das ist ja nice. Aber ja genau, da hast du vollkommen recht, die R80 ist von 78. Fährst oder baust du auch ein Moped im Moment?
Im Moment fahre ich leider nichts (bin zuletzt eine Sportster gefahren) , liebäugle allerdings schon seid einer Ewigkeit mit einer Monolever.
@ueberhopft4278 würdest du die Monolever als Projekt haben wollen oder lieber so lassen, wie sie ist?
Imho those cable oiler tools are complete junk, they are a faulty design that has been redesigned to work better but the best way is the old school plastic bag and rubber band.
Interesting approach. How do you do it the plastic bag and rubber band? Don’t mind using a simpler solution, that might even work better.
