    “Cambrian Explosion” sounds more like a newspaper headline than a careful scientific paper. Thank you RC. Ogden Dino Park in Utah🦕🦖🤠👍

    I enjoy so much the monthly paleontology review. This is my favorite series of scientifc videos on youtube.

      It's a super interesting paper! Feel free to check out the separate video, I go into a little more detail about the fossil as a whole.

    That was such a cool video! How are you able to find all these different articles?! There are so many different publishers behind these articles that it must be hard not to miss any newly published articles I imagine. Great work!

    Genuinely appreciate these vids, as a child I had such a wrong impression in regards to a lot of paleontology. Seeing your summaries of papers has made me realise how fragmentary evidence can be for researchers and how the use of models and calculations plays such a huge part in filling in the gaps. Has really re-energised my love though and I aim to try and engage with the community in some real world ways.

    I support the Sonic Hedgehog name 100% - have some fun! Most scientific names are like, some place, or some guy, or a random anatomical feature that some guy noticed. Yawn. Big "I love lamp" energy.
    Anyway great video as usual, tons of interesting stuff packed in here! Thanks

    It's nuts to see the ank family being split like this. When you started talking I thought that maybe stegouros just made such an impact they had to make another lineage for it.

      It would be very interesting if there were no gaps in the fossil record.

      Nope. It's a grad student doing a thesis specifically on ankylosaurs, so is one of the real experts for them. And is being very specific and thorough with their taxonomy

    My question is how the pinacosaurus larynx discovery wasn’t even mentioned in most news! Especially since every minor discovery in the isle of white hits world wide headlines.

    "We're seeing a lot of wildfires, something we should be worried about"
    Nah, global acreage burned has gone down steadily since 1900. Nothing to worry about

    • @RaptorChatter
      @RaptorChatter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, because the practices of stopping fires has prevented normal fire regimes from persisting, so now we're entering a fire regime where large crown fires are present, which would kill large trees.

      Nah. It's only gotten good sometime in the last year or so. He used to cover "academic' "papers" on the evils of white men in archeology and how "T-Rex is racist!"

    • @Anton2046gfkn
      @Anton2046gfkn ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Update : I just rewatched one of the old videos to see if they were as bad as I remember and he literally starts off by saying the entire field of paleontology is one big racist violation of human rights and is wrong. Dudes a monster. I will never like. I will never sub. I will never forgive him no matter how hard he begs.

    I am glad to see that since the last time I was here you became a actual science channel focused on academic pursuit instead of blm indoctrination and not even pseudo scientific race baiting.

    • @RaptorChatter

      Dude you can just say you're racist

    • @Anton2046gfkn
      @Anton2046gfkn ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RaptorChatter The definition of racism is extremely debatable. In any case my objections here are over wokeism not racism.
