    Damp the dreads prior to braiding and it'll help shrink the hair so it won't be as hard to hide them. They mold easily when wet(damp) I always keep a mist bottle on hand. Great video 😍

      Yea but then you have to make sure they are througly dry. Water trapped in locs causes MOLD. Not the "shaping" mold the actual fungus; Which within itself causes bad smells. Build-up mold is hazardous and has to be removed therefore cutting the locs themselves. The hardest part of having Locs is making sure they are thoroughly dry no matter the thickness. They have to be completely dry from water no matter what.💯👍🏾✌🏾

      @@praisethemosthigh1316 Very true but seeing that she does locs I would hope that she knows that. That's why I didn't mention that. Well to the original poster please make sure that you put your clients under a dryer afterwards 😏

    This video works for hair that is not loc’d as well. Great braiding technique and I saw how to hold the weave and place it a lot better than I have with other videos. I like how she went slow and took her time showing us how to connect the weave to the loc. Great video!

    Hey sis, great job. Its so neat. This style does take long, but its a learning experience for you. If you decide to do this in the future, you should suggest your client to have their locs retwist before their visit, so its easier for you to start braiding. Im locs and a braider so i get it. Im definitely gonna try this look over my locs, im doing it myself so wish me luck lol. Thanks for sharing.

    • @2msballen
      @2msballen ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To me I would only do hair over locs if I am in need of a retwist, but are able to get one. If I pay to get my hair retwisted, I wouldn't want to pay to get braids out over it. I think it just defeats the purpose, but it's whatever a person prefers I guess.

    • @Lifeofnini02
      @Lifeofnini02 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When getting a retwist, a loctician is twisting your hair. The hair becomes slightly tight, going to go get braids and having the braider braid on top of that will thin the locs out eventually.

  • @meridien52681
    @meridien52681 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    The braider is doing a great job and the braids are very neat and professionally done, so she's not the problem! This woman's locs look like she's subjected them to a lot of stress. Her hair is very soft but they look kind of weak, torn up, and ragged. They look almost like she has been brushing them! As for me, I think locs do better when they're just left alone and allowed to grow without stress or pulling. Again, just like everybody else in the comment section, it's my own opinion.

    • @AbiYah333
      @AbiYah333 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Her hair just looks curly to me. It looks strong, she is probably free forming.

    • @meridien52681
      @meridien52681 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AbiYah333 I watched it again after I read your comment and her hair looks like it's locked from the roots to the ends instead of the other way around. My hair is probably 4F LOL very, VERY tight and nappy, and it locked from the ends, which is weird. Everybody's hair is different...Thanks for pointing that out! Take care.

    • @Corynmw
      @Corynmw ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I know this is an old comment but this is such a wrong assumption about her locs being “damaged”. Do you even have locs ? I think anyone with locs knows that her hair isn’t neglected or damaged, its clearly in its budding stage. Theyre not mature yet so they will be frizzy and a little more wild. Nothing wrong w her locs.

    • @meridien52681
      @meridien52681 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Corynmw I've worn locks for the past 15 years. The locs look thick and tin and lumpy, and it looks like they might have been subjected to stress of some sort. I'm not sure whether braiding over them is a way to encourage even strength and thickness and optimal growth. (shrugs) my opinion. If they're developing well, why hide them under braids??

    • @Corynmw
      @Corynmw ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@meridien52681 I understand where you’re coming from. I do feel that if your locs arent mature yet then you should be a little careful w styles like this, but it’s nice to see how versatile locs can be- braids, wigs, crochet. Theres no wrong way to be a dreadhead imo
