Chinese citizens are actually calling her a language genius. They praised her Mandarin, pronunciation, and intonation, saying she sounds like a native. Regarding the audience's reaction, the people they showed were actually her parents, and they were so focused. Faouzia said this performance was a tribute to Coco Lee, who passed away on the same date as Faouzia's birthday. The story of Coco Lee's passing is actually very dark, and let me just say that some people correlate her death to this shady program👀, that's why the song is extra sad and ppl can't really give a big reaction out of respect.❤

There’s so much magic in this performance. Something to note, is that she sang this song mainly in Mandarin because it was a tribute to Coco Lee who passed away of suicide last year same week as Faouzia performed the song (one year anniversary). What a beautiful gesture. 😢❤️‍🩹

She was number two That particular week. Trust me, they felt the magic.

I felt the magic here more than I did on “grenade”. I didn’t feel the magic there that much even though it was good. I was on cloud nine with this performance. She took me to Disney here. And not just because it was a Disney song. But I felt that kind of magic in general.

You don't have to love every one of her performances. I'm a big fan but I still realize that she's only human lol when I first heard this, I loved the parts she sang in English but I knew this isn't something I'll listen to again. Some people didn't like her performance of Love on the Brain but I'm obsessed with it, it's just a matter of taste

I never saw anyone who didn’t like “love on the brain”. That’s wild. That seemed to be universally loved.

🥰🎼 Her accent is very good, the same Chinese say that she seems native, and this presentation was a tribute to Coco Lee. That she passed away. 😔

I haven’t watched this yet but from what I’m reading you didn’t love this performance? That’s surprising but that’s OK. I suppose besides the languages, it was relatively safe compared to the rest. But I just think that it was so emotional and the vocals were absolutely immaculate. I like the fact that she almost seems to trip toward the end but still seems well in spite of a momentary shakiness that you can hear in her voice, lol. I love her choice of runs especially at the end.

When I originally watched this, the only problem I had with it what was that she saying too much of the song in Chinese for me. Which I don’t mind it’s just that this is a familiar song and I wanted to hear those familiar parts of the song sung in English a little more. She did more Chinese here than she did with the GEM song. But apparently she was paying tribute to Coq Lee, and that’s the reason why it was mostly in Chinese. I already knew she was paying tribute to Coq Lee but I didn’t know that was the reason why it was mostly in Chinese, lol.

I hear ya - I was impressed by her singing Mandarin in both of these songs but it's difficult to connect to a song when you can't understand it.

I’m biased, I’m the ultimate Faouzia’s fawn and I love everything she does but I hear you and I do agree that this was the least exciting performance from her on the show. This said, you are def in for a treat with her final performance!

As far as I know she did really well with the pronunciation of the words, from what other reactors have said. But I wasn’t as keen on this performance as the rest. Out of all of her performances for this competition this is one of the bottom 3 for me. But, all of her performances have been great, this one just not as great as the others. ❤
