So, I was looking all the forums for what switch i need for osu, other games, writing some stuffs and this is my personal thinking: If you JUST want to play osu! you can to get Cherry MX Red. If you're a laptop keyboard player who like me you can play with Red but it will be hard because laptop keyboards actually have tactile bump (some keyboards don't have) and you can click without notice in game or when writing some stuffs. I think you can play League of Legends type games too. (maybe you won't i don't know i don't have mechanical keyboard I'm 'boutta buy one in 2 weeks.) For CherryMX switches I personally think that Browns are the best. I’ve tried Silvers, Reds, Blues, and Browns. Silvers were nice but it didn’t feel responsive enough when it came to streaming. (It’s so light I can barely tell if I pressed the key unless I bottomed out) Reds had a similar issue because since its linear it almost feels squishy and it makes it harder to have finger control on slower streams. Browns were that perfect middle with easy press while maintaining responsiveness and blues weren’t too bad although they do feel slightly harder to press.
I really like the browns,they feel nice and aren't very loud like the blues,and are pretty light. So when i play osu,my neighbours cant hear me smashing keys across houses

@@Dubufy I would go for standard gateron browns, they arent very loud and give plenty of feedback, silent switches tend to be more mushy. Reds are also good if you dont like the feeling greens had with the bump, although the bump on the browns is more subtle and isnt noticeable for me while playing unless im playing slower maps with low bpm streams/bursts

I use the Flaretech red optical switches from Wooting One keyboard (I mention the keyboard because other marks uses the same switch but with different actuation point), they are like Cherry MX red but actuates at 1.5mm and the response time are just 0.02ms. So I think that those are the best switches for Osu! xd. PD: Sorry if I write horrible but I don't know english at 100%.
i find reds to be WAY too sensible when playing. if i do use reds for osu im forced to singletap because if i try alternating (im used to browns) i can't hit anything, i only get 100s and 50s because the switch is way too sensible.
I highly recommend removing the o ring from ur switches if u have that. Just try to play without them, you will feel everything. I recently discovered that I have them and what a pleasure it was to play without them.

Blacks seem pretty good for typing. Blues and Browns seem like they are a good middle ground for typing. Reds and Yellows seem great for gaming and pretty good for writing. Silvers seem great for gaming.
When I went from reds to speeds on the corsair k95 my acc went to shit, but then I my speed went up a lot and I got my acc back after some time. 10/10 would recommend.

Is it bad I unironically like using black switches? I’m mostly focusing on streaming now, so I guess it makes sense, but I plan to switch back to reds at some point soon.
Idk if I'm gay but I hate red switches and love black switches. It's harder to activate but in the long run, as your fingers get stronger and get used to the switches, you have the capability to go faster then red and other switches. I'd highly recommend black switches if you want to improve stamina also :)

@reverial_ By feel, do you mean smoothness? I think the feel of Zealios V2's bump is significantly better, and all of the Box Clicky switches have a more pronounced tactile event due to being way sharper.

A Brown Switch is basically like a Blue and Red Switch fusion because like the clicks are from blues and the sound is from red in my opinion

I have Romer-G switches which are basically like Speed but activates at 1.5mm. Pretty good imo, clicks don't sound as satisfying though
I had Romer-G aswell. They are good for consistency but they fuck you up on stamina

I use the Flaretech red optical switches from Wooting One keyboard (I mention the keyboard because other marks uses the same switch but with different actuation point), they are like Cherry MX red but actuates at 1.5mm and the response time are just 0.02ms. So I think that those are the best switches for Osu! xd.

i find reds to be WAY too sensible when playing. if i do use reds for osu im forced to singletap because if i try alternating (im used to browns) i can't hit anything, i only get 100s and 50s because the switch is way too sensible.

I highly recommend removing the o ring from ur switches if u have that. Just try to play without them, you will feel everything. I recently discovered that I have them and what a pleasure it was to play without them.

Blues and Browns seem like they are a good middle ground for typing.
Reds and Yellows seem great for gaming and pretty good for writing.

When I went from reds to speeds on the corsair k95 my acc went to shit, but then I my speed went up a lot and I got my acc back after some time. 10/10 would recommend.

I have a mechanical keyboard with Kailh Blue switches, not complains at all, just that I didn't know they were so damn loud (You get used to it)

Idk if I'm gay but I hate red switches and love black switches. It's harder to activate but in the long run, as your fingers get stronger and get used to the switches, you have the capability to go faster then red and other switches. I'd highly recommend black switches if you want to improve stamina also :)

@@YSoAggressive Informous uses green switches I'm pretty sure so he is also using a switch which is harder to press so it's kinda the same idea. Not too sure about gayz though but that doesn't mean that blacks should be disregarded, after all idke even uses them so they must have some benifit...

You should try both the cherry Mx speed and red low profile switches. The activation speed is cut in half from a typical cherry Mx switch.

I personally prefer Kailh Copper( Basically Speed Browns)
The bump is way more pronounced and way more pleasant than Brown IMO. More comparable to Blues tactility-wise
@reverial_ By feel, do you mean smoothness? I think the feel of Zealios V2's bump is significantly better, and all of the Box Clicky switches have a more pronounced tactile event due to being way sharper.

just need some additional thoughts: i want to buy a keyboard from PRO X but i can't make my mind between a pro X touch or Mx silver switches... i have huge issues regarding tapping speed and i would like to know which one would be better to help me improve this aspect of the game

the tactility in browns is less than that of the tactility in blues, they just don't have the click jacket to make them clicky
