I have just dropped in. As soon as you said acetone, I was shouting at the screen. I love the fact you take it in your stride. You are a great role model for everyone. Your family must think you are tops.
I have a wrap, 3piece luggage system, and gear shift ordered and on the way. I will be watching your videos closely. I am on a budget, so diy is the only way for me to dress my ryker. Did I mention I am 70. Thank you for your videos. If I can finish this project, next will be the Halo plate. Bless you and your travels. Jan cole
Great video Beth.. the bike looks amazing. In my opinion AMR racing is by far the best vinyl wraps you can get... I've had my rap on my bike and it's been over 7,000 miles without any edges peeling up or anything...
When you pulled out that carb cleaner, I knew it was gonna go wrong. The plastic panels on Rykers are very, how should I put it, budget quality. That's why gas turns them white. Glad you stuck with it and finished the project. It looks great. Have contemplated doing one of those wraps myself but as I suspected, it looks waaaaaay more labor intensive than I could handle. Love the video and the tenacity you showed in wrapping the whole thing yourself.
You clean with dishwashing liquid, dry then wipe down with rubbing alcohol. Do not use anything else! To remove old sticky residue you use gooGone. Then wash, dry, then alcohol wipe. You use 2-3 drops of Johnson’s baby shampoo in a large spray bottle. Then apply vinyl. Wrapmyspyder has videos. Use a hair dryer while you’re applying it so the vinyl relaxes to co form to the shape.
Looks great!! I laughed out loud at the picture of you passed out in the driveway after working on the project for 2.5 days. It’s a challenge, but so worth it!
There is a really good product called Rapid Tac. You spray it on, then lay your vinyl. It dries and helps adhesion. If it dries too fast for you add a little water to it. But it is a great product for applying and stickers, decals and window tints. Just thought I would let everyone know. I have had great experiences with it.
Another tech tip. Make sure you have two heat guns if you are going to wrap. Most people buy their heat guns at harbor freight. They over heat and can quit working right when you are in the middle of a large piece. That can actually happen with any brand. FYI
I have been using heat guns on automotive electrical for years and have had them over heat at the wrong time, and watching several Ryker wrap videos. From your experience and others on average it takes two to three days to complete one. Just wanted to help. Love your wrap, you did an awesome job.
This is a great vid, Beth. It seems a lot of persistence went into that job. I might make a recommendation (don't we all have a "better" way?) Something we used to do back in the day.. After you finish the wrap, go over the whole thing with a good automotive paste wax such as Turtle Wax. Not so much for the wrap, but for the edges of the wrap. This helps prevent the edges from peeling up over time and also prevents the wind from being able to get a grip along any loose edges that might happen. Again, great job. Loved the still photos.
Hi Ryker Parking Only, thanks for the tip. I never heard of paste wax, but I really don't think this wrap needs it. Others (Bill Ramseyer) has had the AMR wrap on his bike for a couple of years with no peeling etc. But the wax idea sounds great for other wraps you may buy online?
@@RykerRydes Yep, don't mean to say "it needs it." It simply helps to seal the edges from possible water intrusion, which is especially important on the "pebbly" surfaces of our bikes. Sorta like insurance. Don't need it till you wish you had it. Thanks
Im sure your husband is too proud!! Strong women who ride is very attractive!!! You helped me convince mine to try! I been riding supersportbike for 10 years now and deciding to get a Ryker. I want a 2021 900 Rally. Your channel really helps thank u soooo much! My lady and i watch all the time still havent caught up on all your content yet there so mich good stuff.
Hi Beth very disappointing that your first wrap didn’t hold up that well. But on a positive note you did an excellent job on the new wrap, the bike looks awesome.God bless you and stay safe
great video .. got shiny penny copper color for mine .. just waiting for this Chicago weather to settle down...you and ryker chick did a great job!!! love the mention of the 1980s throwback dance song take your time do it right ... that was a jam ...back in the day ... another great install by you ..
Hey Robert. That is so exciting!! As for the warranty, that is a personal preference. I didn’t get any additional warranty, but others swear by it. It is really whatever your comfort level is. Sorry, that wasn’t a more definitive answer.
I would probably start by testing a small area on an extra piece of plastic that came from my Ryker. I have a box of parts that got replaced as I added accessories. I am so sorry that happened to your bike.
With the wrap on, no one knows that it even happened. When I remove the wrap, I can buy a replacement part. No worries! Always best to try on an inconspicuous spot first.
@@RykerRydes it's good. I was wondering if you used a GoPro. I saw they have a bundle deal on their site and was thinking about getting it to vlog my rides and just for fun. Thought I'd let you know about it too.
Has anyone painted the plastic panels on a Ryker successfully? Cars have lots of painted plastic and flexible bumper covers, seems like using this type of paint would be an option.
You should have edited out the carburetor cleaning step from the video. Hard to follow someone's lead when they do something clearly bad as a primary step....

damn, that's two L's in a row. Acetone on plastic. lmao what the heck?
Hey Dirk, what does "two L's in a row' mean? Sorry for the confusion.
Yup, I was shocked when I saw that on the instruction sheet. They said they sent me the wrong sheet. The correct instructions are on the box.
That last Stand on the bike thou!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Conquered the world/bike
That is EXATLY how I felt!! lol

It should still work. The wrap has held up perfectly for years. Never a bubble or peeling up. Highlight recommend.

Goo Gone is your friend when removing any sticker residue. It works good and will not damage the plastic.
Great tip!! Thank you!
‘Goo be gone ‘ is a great product to get glue adhesive safely off your surfaces
Great tip!
I gather patience is the key word when wrapping your own bike. Tracy is on her own if she ever wants to wrap her bike, lol. Your bike looks great!
Thanks Alex!! I wish I had help, It would have made it enjoyable and cut the time in half!! I’m sure you’d help Tracy!! 😊

You did a great job. I actually tried to do my bike last weekend and the front fenders look terrible so I definitely will have to try again..

Thank you! Much appreciated. This warp is much thicker and designed specifically for the type pf plastic that is on the Ryker.
I really like your old stripes. I think the color scheme was much more attractive. That said, this was a great video as always.
Thanks for the comment. The stripes were falling off and I just needed a change. Thanks for watching.

Goo-gone, goof-off, or even wd-40 works. As always great video.

Is that a phone lock on the left handle bar? Wow, lots of patience. Looks Goood!
Yes, video on the phone lock coming.... Thanks Harry!
Hey Beth
You think it possible to wrap the max mount
I would think so. But you may want to powder coat it instead? Keep in mind, any time you put something on the max mount, it may scratch it.
The discount code is no longer valid. Do you have another one?
I just tried it , and it works. Just be sure you are spelling it right rykerrydes (3 rs)
Looks beautiful, like a totally new bike. Well worth the fun, suspenseful wait on Instagram. Has silver replaced blue as your signature color?
Thanks John, always! I will be keeping blue as my signature color!
Hey Beth how are you? Question, what kind of camera do you use when recording your videos?

You can do it!!!
Very Nice

Am I the only one that noticed you changed your toe nail polished too... :)
HA! You're funny Randy!!!
Plasti dip I think would last way longer.
No sure, maybe if done right. I have seen some BAD dip jobs.
