- Now we know a lot of you may not be into '30s hot rods, but real recognize real - the Iron Orchid (from legendary builder Dave Shuten) has an attention to detail that no one in the office can ignore. This thing is w i l d. Right down to the clear transmission cover, windows into the engine bay, OG performance parts, and more.

What style do you prefer: A clean Hot Rod or an aggressive Rat Rod?
Clean hot rod!
Agressive. This paint is cool but better fits a low rider.
I Was Feeling The Aggressive Rat Rod Look But This Changed My Mind For Sure Never Seen One This Clean With So Much Details
A ratrod, but thats only because I want to drive it. Mad skill for this hotrod, but I woul be scared to park it, so this isn't for me.
Why not both?
My jaw is on the floor. This is on another level! I'd love to hear some more backstory + pictures about what else he built in the past, because that amount of clean in 14 months is un-f***-ing real
I wouldn't even want to touch it without gloves on. It's incredible.
Never been this early to the party before, but that thing is obnoxiously clean...
Also proud of Chase's beard for the recovery.
Jon is almost fully recovered, we though we lost him for a little bit... We're just glad to have the old Jon back.
One of the best build and cleanest job i ever seen in this channel. Keep bringing more car like this to the shop.
Hell Yeah! Thanks for the comments Jesus. We are doing our best to bring a wide variety of cars to the garage as we believe style of vehicle play a massive roll in the automotive community as a whole.
@@TheHoonigans cleanest anywhere, actually....and I've seen a grip, as I've been going to cars shows since '70 (I was 6). I've actually seen this car in person a few times, vid and pix do it no justice. I'm certain you guys agree! Thanks for sharing it for those who haven't had the same pleasure as I.
"Brakes are for quitters" - J. Chase (I almost laughed my coffee through my nose)
D Ross Safety 3rd!
I was going to comment on that same line. 😂 Cracked me up.
Easy to say when you don't really drive it.
A Pre-60's car, hosted by Jon Chase? Yes please!
I bet he (Jon) has British car knowledge as well... pre-60's, of course.
This thing is the real hot boi stuff
It doesn't get any more ICY than this.
this is above and beyond hoyboi!
Hot rods aren't my thing, but the attention to detail in this thing is crazy
If you mod any car to make it faster you by definition like hotrods.
@@Hole_Motorsports fair point
Hahahah so casual “I just made a frame”
Oh okay
I personally was never in too deep on the hot rod side of car culture. But I will say, this definitely is one of my favorite Hot Rods ever. The details and also seeing it lean to one side when it revs itself combined with exhaust note, is just soooo good.
Nothing better than a ford in a ford
Saw this car in Hot Rod Magazine?... Hot Rod Deluxe?... several years ago, must have been pretty close to its completion. And it's been burned in my memory since then. @Hoonigan Thanks for making a point to bring in virtually every variety of build possible! Love them all!
Thanks for the message Jon. Each type of build we have on the show is very unique in its own way, and we want to make sure to highlight all different types of builds and styles of vehicles on this channel. Hopefully one day people can start sharing ideas on how to use each styles on there own builds.
indeed
I still have the magazine because it was such a iconic car
Omg! That car is INSANE!!
Blackout I like the cat aswell
Adnan Rahman I edited that the second i posted it but it didn’t change? :/
This beast looks amazing, but it's one of those things that you keep seeing more detail the more you look. Seriously I've watched this three times now and keep picking up more subtleties each time - and that's through TH-cam. Utterly amazing.
I've never been the biggest fan of this style/era. But this car is BEAUTIFUL!!
Chase: so did you chop the frame?
Dave: i just made a new frame.
Me: dying
But of course he did.
That is the most beautiful and amazing car I’ve ever seen the amount of detail put into this car is ridiculous.
this is just a gorgeous piece of machinery and art. Everything about it.
Dave clearly loves building cars! This is absolutely beautiful. An amazing combination artistic vision and mechanical knowledge. My only question is...who are the 27 people who didn't like this video?!?!?
When I see these car's all I think about is ZZ Top's Eliminator album... These car's are rad as hell...
Absolutely beautiful car. That detail. The sound. Mind blown!
would be sweet to see more true period correct rods like this. I have immense respect for guys like Dave. should be every little boy's dream to have the attention to detail this man has
To be honest, that is the perfect chop! Beautiful car. I'd almost be afraid to drive it anywhere.
Very excited for Call out Kings to start up again. The first call-out was super fun to keep up with. would love to see it happen again but with people who can finish their cars
Damn I cant even find the words. Thing is incredible! The small touches and ingenuity just put it over the top. The kind of stuff you dream of
Hoonigan with another beauty of a video, best channel on TH-cam hands down.
mathieulebum Thanks for the comment man! Glad you’re enjoying the content!
Clean is a understatement
I remember reading about this thing in I think hot rod years ago. Amazing to finally see it in motion. Absolutely beautiful
I'm not a Hot Rod fan, but this one is a phenomenal piece of amazing craftsmanship, wow..
Great to see a clean traditional rod on here, I wouldn’t be mad at few more!
As someone that lives in a state where rust isn't prevalent, it's guaranteed... that is the cleanest undercarriage I have EVER seen!
I love the window that shows off the engine.
The cleanest build to ever be on Build Biology!!! Also the most humble builder!!
I am usually no fan of trailer queens, but this thing is a level of automotive art I have never seen before. A 20/10 for style points.
the real reason we watch this...the passion in every detail.
This is simply perfect custom hot rod. Absolutely beautiful.
Everything about this car was incredible. The craftsmanship really shows.
I can't believe how much the underside is glowing! Frickin' amazing!!!!
The Ford 427 was a pleasant surprise! The use of genuine 60's parts like the Cragar steering wheel and white shifter boot make it extra sweet.
That car looks even better in person. Beautiful at every angle. Even the bottom side.
This is definitely my favorite car ever on Build Biology. Please bring him back so we can see some more of his builds.
The paint work is insane 🤩 lots of love put in this build 💯👌
The crazy thing is that paint job took them 10 days...
So beautiful. 33-34 Ford coupes are my unicorns!
I follow Dave on Instagram. He's always one of my favorites to see updates from, one of the most badass builders out there.
We need more people like Dave in the automotive community. Someone that shares his passion as well as tricks on how to create such a masterpiece.
I love the double rev and camera angle of the car parking thing they do at the intro to each car
You guys asked for that on our last video, now we are making sure we can get some solid audio on there for you guys as well.
I love how chill Shuten is. Every custom piece of this rod he’s just casually like “Yeah, I made that.”
This may be the most amazing paint job ever on the show!
wow, I love seeing cars taken to this level!!
My Dad has a 34 Ford 3 window with a 8-71 blown small block ford in it. God this brings back memories..
Damn you Dad had a monster of a car!
WOW, Build that beautiful work automotive art in 14 months, unbelievable, an old 30's Ford with a Ford motor in it is almost unheard of very impressed.
Wow that thing is crazy beautiful car can't believe it only took 14 months to build it wow
Galpin and Dave are really keeping customs and period correct hot rods alive.... This is a work of arT this is why period correct customs and hot rods and choppers is the only way to go.... For me
Yeah that's art you can drive. Priceless
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS...MAN HE NAILED IT BIG TIME.....SKILL AND DETAIL!
They are trusting that floor jack wayyyyy too much! Stay safe! Get some jack stands even if it's only a secondary.
How am I supposed to go burn off a set when you keep posting all of this amazingness??!!!
Sorry, we will stop....
Don’t.
One of the prettiest 34s ive ever seen
I have the Hot Rod issue this car is in! Awesome 👍
The firewall holy hell, everything is just amazing
Saw him on GAS, cool to see this thing up close
Respect the dismount!! Anything for style
This car and the All Carbon Charger are definitely the 2 cleanest cars you guys have had on the channel!
Not a big hot rod dude but I love this thing. Very beautiful
Ridiculously cool build! I can't imagine getting to work on something like this, let alone this level of detail. Crazy! Should be a Hot Wheels car!
That's just awesome, just the style I like on a hot rod.
What a marvelous machine , my goodness its beautiful
That's not a hot rod, it's a masterpiece 👍
An absolute Palace on Wheels...just gorgeous 😌
Beautiful car. Love to see a few more classics on the channel but I love all cars.
It remember me the ZZ Top hot rod!!! Gorgeous car and paint job!!!
Paint job is mesmerizing
Yeah! More hot rod stuff, please.
INSANELY CLEAN
When you work nights and you time your breaks with hoonigan uploads. 👌
Damn this car is GORGEOUS!
The longer I watch this the sadder i get. I mean what am i even doing with my life.
Kirk! What time is it where you are at?!
@@TheHoonigans quarter pass midnight.
Sweet ride and equally sweet chop
Hoonigan’s version of American Graffiti. 100/10 for creativity on the build. Overall I need this in my life.
1940 FORD sedan rear windows have the "smokers" vent as well... turn the handle backwards and the window gaps about 1-2" along the front edge.
Not a fan of hot-rods but this thing, it makes me feel things.
This thing is the P E R F E C T 60's style show rod. It's absolutely beautiful.
this is the definition of proper.
Glad to see the beard is coming back Chase.
I love everything about this car.
That's a proper 60's style show car. Insane amounts of detail!
I wonder how many hours went into it.
3rd time watching this... That paint is a study all on its own!
Oh my Gah!, this is what you call car porn. John, beard is lookin nice.
I just realized that!!! How fast does john's beard grow?!!! Is it like Eddie Griffin's afro in Undercover Brother... just like bam and it appears!!!
Wow that’s amazing!
Wow i made it under 1000 views. Awesome video. That paint scheme looks as great on white as it does on the blue.
And people say O.C.D. is a bad thing. Well, I would beg to differ.... what a car!
The most beautiful car I've ever seen
What kind of connections must you have to find that many new old stock parts. Lucky SOB!!
Andrew Goodballet Dude. That’s what we are saying!
This maybe an old video but I just found it.That car is beautiful.
What a beautiful thing this car is. I'm always amazed at ho much work an perfection can go into some cars. I wouldn't even want to drive this anymore in fear of spoiling something.
btw. who is that strange guy with the short beard and the glasses? Please bring back Jon!
thats a fantastic hot rod!
This is perfect. Thank you .
Right on Dennis! Thanks for watching.
It has been a while since I have watched a Hooni video all the way through without skipping anything. I grew up in the 70s - born in 68 - and because my father did all his own work on our 65 Mustangs, the Mustang magazines had all these crazy ass 70s funky colors. So when I saw this I thought "ohhh yeahhhhhh" lol. Very nice high boy. Thumbs up.
David, thanks for sticking around and watching the video! We are doing our best to capture a wide verity of cars for this show, as most people have a specific taste in what they like! We're excited to have a vehicle that connected with you.. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful.
only 2500.00$.......just let us adjust the decimal point over a few
Move that decimal point (once) to the left, and make it a comma
I'm back...um, maybe double that
@@andrewmitchell5665 ouch....super sweet build tho.....
@@stevenjohann5435You got it.. absolutely amazing, can't imagine the time involved.
If you Think it's Lowrider.. his Name was Larry Watson.. look him up please.. first panel paint, lacing.. RIP the Man..
Dude the attention to everything made me feel dumb I work building these cars everyday but wow that's better and I swear the build tomorrow will be better
Got a '34 Ford Pickup sitting in my shop at work that was chopped and had work done, motor swap etc but the owners older now and never drives it. Just sitting collecting dust unfortunately. I love this car but not a fan of the color scheme but that's just personal preference so it's all good.
Stunning.
