In utter shock that no French braiding was required!! ( I'm literally incapable of doing them haha) so when you showed that it was only regular braids, I got super excited. I think I'll be using this look for my prom hairstyle, and can't wait to braid this thick hair of mine out of my face for a night of dancing and celebration :)

I've done a slightly different take on this with French braids in front on both sides wrapped around a regular bun in the back, but I've always done tight braids. I think the loose ones look better. Beautiful job, Missy. Love how simple it is. Anyone who can do a standard plait can wear this style. Great for days when I don't want to French braid or dutch braid. I love braids, but sometimes I don't feel like taking the time to do anything to intricate because of the time and because anyone who braids their own hair knows what happens to your arms after a while. This is a great alternative. It looks more complex than it actually is. I love your channel. I watch all of your videos. Thanks for all of the beautiful hairstyle inspiration!

I had a question, do you ever tie off the braids done around the face with a band after you've loosened them or do you just pin the ends into the bun without the rubber band?
