Testing The Border Buses | First West Yorkshire's Services | Operation Review

So its network testing time again, this time we are taking a look at the cross border services operated by First West Yorkshire! This year has seen a reduction in cross border services elsewhere but First Halifax has enhanced theirs with the introduction of the 587 (X58 taken over from Yorkshire Tiger) and the takeover of the Stanfield locals from First Greater Manchester. In this video I take a look at this network sampling corridors to Rochdale and Burnley from Halifax and Todmorden.

The 184 is now operated by First West Yorkshire.
Ah cool, that'll make things more convenient with regards to using a First ticket now I got a more direct link to Halifax from Rochdale if I get up there from Oldham! Great video too!
Aye well I'm unsure if you can buy a First West Yorkshire day on the 184 from Oldham but I know they are valid on that route too through to Huddersfield. Probs best to go to Rochdale to buy the FWY through to Fax then go back via the 184 route for convenience
@@AndMoreCentral both the GM and WY tickets are valid on the full routes across the boundary, and you can buy a WY ticket in GM and vice versa on these cross-boundary routes; I've done it many times on the 184 to Huddersfield (been all the way to Leeds and back from where I live for a fiver), it just has to be off-peak! I could just buy a First GM ticket and use it on the 409 to Rochdale then a 587 all the way to Halifax; no need to waste money on two tickets, which is one of my favourite things about bus travel!
A good recommendation to ride on the 587 would be 66783 as that vehicle shoots up Rochdale road.

Well the Burnley to Todmorden section needs a 30 min service the only reason it was reduced was due to funding

You can use a First West Yorks ticket on the 184 between Huddersfield & Oldham and on the Sundays 84 all the way to Manchester

Like how First South Yorkshire joined First Midland buses First Greater Manchester, First York and First West Yorkshire should join together and form First Yorkshire and North East.
Well it could potentially happen though if you go back a few years ago York was part of the West Yorkshire operation
Potteries used to be with First Manchester, which I believe back then also included the now gone Chester & Wirral operation

Yep all of this was done on the First West Yorkshire £5.20 ticket
