I Love Cree!!! I hope we see her in more episodes. This storyline with Barbara happens so often in many settings. The senior person who has complained for years finally gets what they want, but they have to align to it the are angry
Okay Barbra is kinda out of pocket on this. You can't just take whatever books you want out of the library, you have to schedule time slots for your classes, and if your school has a limit to how many books you can check out, that's what it is.
I really understand Barbra even if I thinks she is in the wrong. She’s a tenured teacher who most likely never had a librarian. So she had to assume that responsibility with resources were limited. So it might be weird that even the thing that helps now makes you have to change your entire behavior, espically when your behavior was a result of the system (like the one that hired the librarian) in the first place (and I think working in a district is hard!). Overall, I think this episode shows the effects of when new positive things are implemented after a long absence of this resource. And I love how Janine handles it, because Barbra wasn’t being open-minded and needed to hear it. But she’s only like this because she had to make due for so long without it, so she does deserve grace. Idk that’s my take anyway.
Ava had her insult locked and loaded for Jacob but then Melissa came in and ruined it and Ava had to put it somewhere so just like that Mr Johnson caught the Stray when all he was doing was minding his business. 😂💀
Kudos on the librarian, I knew I recognized her voice she was in pretty much every cartoon I grew up with. Ahh childhood good to see you old friend. Cree Summer everybody a national treasure for all the ages💎
Ava suppose so ready to be mean to Jacob, but she can't so she take it out on Johnson immediately, or else Ava will explode herself. the fire must be fire!
exactly! I'm 50 years old and I grew up listening to her voiceover work. I hear Penny from Inspector Gadget, Suzie from Rugrats, various characters from the Batman and Justice League cartoons.
It took me a hot minute to realize who it was, but I can’t believe they managed to get Suzie and Freddie Brooks in the show, bruh. (I’m 22 Years old, but My Mum still watches A Different World whenever it comes on TV, lol.) W Abort Elementary. Cree Summer is a legend.
I used to think Ava was the negative person at Abbott Elementary. It's actually Barbara. She doesn't like anything if it's not her recommendation or ideal. She's a dinosaur. Afraid of new challenges. 😂
You can tell the generations because some people like, "I loved her in A Different World," and my generation pops up like, "It's Suzie from Rugrats." But it speaks to a long and wonderful career both on screen and through voice roles that can be recognized by multiple generations from the 80s until now.
I used to watch Code name Kids next door as a kid and numbah five was my favorite, and seeing the little speech thing numbah five/her dad used to do in the show is such a nostalgic factor for me

Barbara is sooo me. Asking for a regulation to be put in place, but then complains about losing the rights that previously only existed because the lack of it😂
The problem, as she sees it, is that she was told “no,” even though the librarian gave solutions (offering to reserve a book on hold, offering to show how she can book the library in the future) right afterwards. As someone who works in a library (public instead of school), this isn’t that uncommon. People often forget that we serve multiple people, whether it’s a school or a town, and we’re limited in budget/items/space/people. We’ll do what we can to get you what you’re looking for, but we can’t do it at the expense of others. It just takes patience.
I wonder if part of why the other classes had issues with the library is because Barbara was hogging the popular books and would just show up and take over the space whenever.
Dear Cree Summer, I want to hear every single word in every single language, in your voice. It's just something else. I LOVE IT. Have for well over 20 years.
It makes sense to me. Like they don't have a big library and it is a school so alot of students. If one person checked out a bunch of books at once, then other students wouldn't be able to. And if they check out alot at the same time, it's going to take a while to reach the next book whereas you could have two students reading at the same time
Nah, most libraries have book check-out limits. It's a great way to, among other things, ensure that if one person is a bit irresponsible, the library doesn't lose a lot of books for an extended period of time without warning...
@@Robert-hz9bj also they're an underfunded school, don't want to lose a lot of books and have to reissue. Happened at a few libraries in our city school district, next door to Philly.
It's Freddie Brooks from "A Different World" !!! She hasn't aged much at all . The librarian is totally right and Barbara is just mad she can't do what she wants when she wants.
I'm with the librarian on this one. You have to establish order in the library so everyone can use it effectively.
Cree Summer's voice is legendary
Cree Summer is legendary!
Damn right it is....make no mistake, when it comes to voiceovers Cree is the 🐐

Yup, A Different World as Freddie, Suzie from Rugrats, and Numbah 5/Abigail from Codename: KND.
a different world....then where you come from!!
