Had my hands on the 84" snap on but ultimately decided on the cornwell, thought is was more heavy duty and about the same price (also the snap on didn't include the stainless top) i bet that would be another thousand bucks. I love the thick drawer liners, tools imbed into them and do not move at all even if drawers are slammed shut. This box will definitely be around long after i am gone.
Thank you. I love to be able to grab any tool in seconds and not having to dig for them. I love the color also, it is the only color on initial production. Was told cornwell will offer dirrerent colors down the road. The 84"er is the only size also. Not sure when other sizes go into production. Looking forward to see what you have!
Just got this exact same box last week except mine is black. It seems well belt. Had my old 1350 Mac maximizer for 20 years. I hope Platinum series box is up to the task.
Are you my doppelganger? LOL This platinum series was a replacement for my green/yellow maximizer 1850 (you can see it briefly in the walk around video) I think it was purchased in 1996 for $2200 and the side cabinet for $700. I decided to take it home and replace my small craftsman box. I think i will take both boxes to my grave.
Nice box! I'm contemplating upgrading to one! Do you like the wide drawers on the left bank? Or do you wish you went with the triple bank? Anything you don't like about it? They look super nice for the price!
I'm loving it. It's built super heavy duty. Things I like about it: stainless top has 5/8" overhang which gives it a nice aesthetic look, electronic lock works slick, power drawer is unobstructed so can be configured however you like, power strip on the top is invaluable and can be slid anywhere on back or sides, bottom is one single flat piece and can be jacked up anywhere to move. The wide drawers give the box more space and flexibility. They're kind of weird to get used to at first, some techs may not like it but after using it for almost two years now I couldn't imagine anything else. I'm able to press in on the center of my drawers and they will shut and latch while i'm walking away. This platinum series makes my coworkers new mac box feel cheap and junky. His drawers have to be slammed. The only thing i've done is spray some silicone lube on the small metal latch mechanisms, they were getting a little sticky. It says to lubricate the drawer slides and mechanisms once a year in the owners manual but I haven't done the slides. One note: the two bottom left drawers on my box are one large one on current production.
@@raincitywrench117 Thanks for the reply! I'm eager to talk to the Corndog guy next week about it! That is nice that the top has that overhang - Epiq has an optional top that has a light strip under there, so when you open the drawers they're lit up also. I'll bet one could rig up something similar for not much money or effort. I'm glad the have the deeper drawers on the left/center now, those shallow ones would mean I'd have to stack a bunch of stuff. Still not sure if I'd prefer the triple bank though. I have a lot of small things that are organized by job that fit perfectly in the small drawers on the smaller banks.
Love it. Every time I walk into work I think to myself "damn that is a nice looking unit" Would be tough to make a better drawer layout, the electric lock is super cool and it has no flaws.
Im having some trouble charging my head lamp with the USB plugs on my 84" Platinum box. But if I plug the USB cord into a brick and one of the boxes 110v plugs works good. Have you had this issue on your box?
I have not used either USB in the power drawer yet. Both USB's in the top power strip work fine so far. I have two headlamps that charge in my diagnostic cart, will plug them into the power drawer next week and let you know how that works out.
***update*** Have charged my camera using the USB plugs inside the power drawer multiple times. Both work fine. I hope you resolved your issue and if not at least it's still under warranty.
@@raincitywrench117 thanks. I've come to the conclusion that the issue is just with one of my Milwaukee head lamp every thing else charges ok. I marked it and for some reason it just won't change with out using a brick.
Not sure where to start. That was my first tour video and I should have done a better job. Have some Craftsman sockets in the top drawer. The rest is mostly Snap-on, Mac tools, Cornwell and Matco.
Awesome box and tour - love seeing that tools get used but kept perfectly organized.
Appreciate that. Now if only my toolbox at home looked that way. Stay tuned for my next three box tours and then one on personal shop equipment.
Nice Box and tool's, Looks like you have it all organized the way you want it as well. Keep up the Videos !!!!!

How you liking that cornwell box? I'm in a snap on but I seen a cornwell on the cornwell truck that was super nice.

Brand names of the tools ?

That box right now is for sale for 5700 hundred cash with my cornwell guy
If you are in the market for a new box, I would jump on that! Thats a steal of a deal.
What does that box roughly go for
Manufacture list prices vs what people actually pay are all over the place especially snap-on. I paid a little over ten grand .
Msrp is like 13,5 or somewhere around here I got mine for less than 10 no trade in.
