    📊 WHAT IS POWER BI?
    Power BI is a business analytics tool by Microsoft. It creates a working environment suited for normal users, meaning tasks such as data extraction, cleansing, analysis and storytelling; these are made easily-accessible to citizen-users, and extendable for technical users. At face value it provides visually-stunning, interactive dashboards, but it’s built on top of so much more.

    Great video, thanks. Does anyone know if these apps can be connected to a live data source, if so, will the app display updated data when the data source updates?

    Question, lets say i created a welcome page on one report that contains multiple pictures that act as bookmarks to other reports on the APP. now, lets say i finished loading those other reports to the app. is there a way to link those pictures (bookmarks from the Welcome page) to the other reports on the app so that when i click on one of those pictures, its just takes me to that specified report on the app?

    If you have several reports with RLS and you create an app, does this app inherit the RLS from the reports?

    When my report gets data refreshed, will the app also get data refreshed? So, the end users don't need permission at workspace?

  • @faizagustira3608

    Thank you for the explanation, but What if the case is like this: I have 2 users (User-A and User-B)
    User-A wants to have access to dashboard W, X, Y and Z.
    User-B wants to have access just to dashboards Y and Z.
    Cause from my understanding for cases like this we need to make more "Create App". Or any other solution that is faster than "Create App"? Thank you.

      @douglasrosseto ปีที่แล้ว +1

      with recent powerbi feature you can create role views, role A just dash W, X, Y and Z, role B just dash Y and Z and then you assign to users

    Great explanation Mr Fernan!
    1 question- can dashboards or reports in a app be seen in a mobile layout view, so that my consumers can see it as a mobile view in their mobiles?regards

    • @SolutionsAbroad
      @SolutionsAbroad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi again, if they view the report via the Power BI App for Mobile, their mobile layout should be their default view

    When I am creating an App in PowerBI, I do not see options to hide a report or move report up/down. Any ideas why?

    IF you give permission for user X who is on a PowerBI Free License, will they be able to open the Application? Can you only have one App per Workspace?

    • @lesliecox6785
      @lesliecox6785 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you are backed by Power BI Premium, yes. Otherwise, no. Also, yes, only one App per Workspace - but multiple audiences seeing different pieces of the same app - that is now possible.

  • @sanjuktasamom3923

    Can we create multiple apps from a workspace?

    • @lesliecox6785
      @lesliecox6785 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not at this time. It's one app per workspace. BUT you can now have multiple audiences per app - letting some audiences see specific reports, etc. and some be invisibile to them, but available to another audience.

    Fernan, I have 4 users in my organisation. Should all have a PRO account to view " app". IF not,
    how can I let them without a PRO account to view my dashboard and report.
    How can i let external users( non pro accounts) view app ?

    • @SolutionsAbroad
      @SolutionsAbroad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question, unfortunately the Power BI service requires all users to have Pro in order to distribute the reports around. There are other non secure ways to share reports around (sharing pbix, publish to web) but using the service requires at least a pro license for all parties

    • @lesliecox6785
      @lesliecox6785 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One amendment to the below - currently - if your workspace is backed by a Premium level BI, free users CAN view apps.

    How to share app outside your organization?

    • @SolutionsAbroad
      @SolutionsAbroad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, you can share your apps outside of your org the same way you share a report, just bear in mind that this external user must also have a Pro or Premium license, more info here: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-share-dashboards

    There HAS to be a way to make a special layout for the phone. There's no way it's just a small dashboard in the middle of my phone screen.
