I don't understand why this album is so overlooked!! The more you listen deeper you get into.. Every Maiden album is unique and perfection in its on own way.. true maiden fan agree this.. Up the irons !!!
I actually wouldn't mind if they threw in one song from this album instead of something thats overplayed like 2 minutes to midnight or run to the hills.
I LOVE this album. I know people will cringe when I say this, but this is the album that got me into Maiden. I was 13 years old and it had just come out. My favorite band, MCR, always talked about how much they loved Maiden, so I gave them a listen and I've been hooked ever since.
Armin Poorfard to be honest, I really think Dave Murray should be more involved in composing, every single song he´s composed or co-composed turns out to be Golden Gems or even masterpieces, just like this one.....
For me Adrian Smith is the number one songwriter in the band and in the heavy metal history .He is a genius in songwriting. There is a reason everybody in the band is letting him to write half of the songs after Brave New World.
Armin Poorfard well he usually writes short, catchy songs but hey who writes most of their simply outstanding progressive tracks, long and brooding ??? You simply have to admit that Steve and Janick, Dave and even Bruce are more devoted writers in theese kinds of songs, and that´s the music I love the most.....truth to be told, Adrian made some incredible songs, but not many enough in my special music. ..but all is a matter of taste and opinion, don´t you agree ????
I think this is one of Maiden's greatest songs. The album A Matter of Life and Death is underrated. It's definitely one of Maiden's darkest albums due to its theme and more progressive songs. One of their most important latter-day albums and one of my favorites. This song is brilliant!

Imagine being in a band where you can play for two and a half hours every night, and have no hope of getting through even 2% of all the songs your fans are dying to hear live. A man born on September 3rd, 1939 in London, who dissapeared mysteriously in 1978, unfound to this day. His parents were killed in a house fire when he was young, but he somehow escaped unharmed. This is power, passion, talent, a gift and a godsent to all of us.....the metal ICONS Iron Maiden have raised the bar, they don´t make classics anymore, they make immortals.....
OUTSTANDING, TIMELESS AND ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS...the solos, the guitar phrasing, the riffs combined with the voice of Bruce...MAGICAL..Someone to save me, something to save me from myself, that´s what everyone is praying for...MAGNIFICENT, SUBLIME A DOWNRIGHT MASTERPIECE.......
Esta cancion es una verdadera joya. Te transporta a un mundo, en el que no muchos tienen la dicha de estar, cada frase, de cada letra es como un echizo que nos hace ver en realidad quienes somos. Asi considero esta belleza de cancion.
I love this. First verse after the slow intro, I love the text. He doesn't understand, and with the music it hits pretty hard. I saw this one live once actually, awesome stuff
I know Dave Murray doesn´t write many songs and why he doesn´t is way beyond my understanding.....every single song he ever touches turns out to be Epic Golden Gems or Masterpieces just like this one.....three of my all time favourites is actually written by his emotional and genius mind...............PLEASE Dave Murray, please write more songs.....
The DIVINITY is true.....this song is almost too good, the unique melodic mix of guitar harmonies, solos and the outstanding heavy riffs, thunderous drums, climbing bass line and the emotional and powerful voice of Bruce takes you to EUPHORIA..........FAR beyond......INCREDIBLE and UTTER GENIUS.........thank you Dave !!
More people think this song is about Eddie than I thought, and I love it. There's so many of their songs that I see through his eyes, but this is the one that makes me weep for him. With the right mindset or mood, Eddie is a total Gollum/Smaegol character. He was human once.
0ne of the most under-rated IRON MAIDEN albums....such an amazing album* and live in full was Awesome😈🤘 .....UP THE IRONS! 😈LEGACY OF THE BEAST 2018😈 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🍺
A DEMONIC masterpiece, this iconic intro, blistering guitar harmonies, riffs, solos and the powerful interpretation by Bruce takes you beyond euphoria, FAR beyond...phenomenal, haunting from the first note.....downright epic and utter genius, all around !!
This song is number two of all time for me… number one is “Still Life”… so I would ‘never’ say this song is overlooked or underrated. Have seen Maiden on every tour, at least once, since Number of the Beast and through Book of Souls…across various countries. “Up The Irons” 🤘🤘🤘
ONE of their most powerful songs....the epic intro, brilliant guitar work, dazzling lyrics, driven dynamic bass and THE RIFF.....a song that grabs a hold of your heart and soul INSTANTLY and never let it go..............PLEASE, please Dave Murray give us more infernal masterpieces.....
This CD is such a masterpiece, an unbelievable great follow up to the wonderful Dance of Death...The back to back "Death" albums are my two favorites from the greatest metal band of all time.
I am 57 now (2023) and took my my three kiddos in their teens to see Maiden with Megadeth in 2014. Maiden played like they were still 25 years old, absolutely amazing sound and concert.
A phenomenal and intense masterpiece !!! The blistering music, stunning lyrics and the incredible interpretation by Bruce blows you away....a remarkable unique mix of guitar harmonies, riffs, solos....Iron Maiden is second to none, absolutely none.....
An absolutely bewitching, hypnotic song, the magical force, emotions and overwhelming lyrics makes me spellbound...Iron Maiden, the masters of heavy metal, performs with all their musical geniouses and radience....Magnificent, iconic....
I cannot describe the feelings of (what Should I Say!!!! feeling like I don't exist on earth; my body only) between 4:29 to 6:05. What a music!!!!!!! My brain is just galloping the sound at this time.
Chris Mouchteros and for the Greater Good of God, thank you England for this amazing passion for quite outstanding and amazing music over the years, we owe it ALL to you !!
Iron Maiden saved me every time I here one of their songs I am reminded of some great time or beautiful place I have experienced in my life listening to them always since 5th grade they are a big part of my life and I am for ever grateful up the irons for life
The AWESOMENESS of this band.....bewitching, hypnotizing, masterpiece isn´t quite enough anymore, a remarkable and utter genius jewel in their discography, haunting from the first note, if ANYONE ever left a legacy it will be the EPITOME of metal Iron Maiden.......
I wish we could see this song live again (even though I saw it live on the matter of life and death world tour back in 07) ... depressing yet so aggressive and refreshing exceptional!
Dave is probably the most underrated guitarist and songwriter of Maiden. Every sing he writes is absolute magic. He's the guitarist who I look up to and the reason I play guitar. I love this band❤
Agree with that all day long. Dave is exceptional as is Adrian. I love listening to Iron Maiden and be able to pick out which guitarist is doing what. They are different and it fun to listen to the different styles.
One of the Maiden's Best ever albuns. And i feel confortable to say it...cause i've got them all!!! bought my first in 1989...!!!! This one, Dance of Death, Brave new World, Seventh Son, Peace of Mind and Book of Souls...and some more are all master pieces!!!! Hope to see them for the 8th time this year...if the Covid-19 allow!!
Fantastic song and a great album!!! Like most stuff from Maiden, it takes time to appreciate their music....and let it sink in 🤘🤘🤘 the more you listen the better it gets!!!
A matter .....es un discazo que debe ser reconocido como lo que es una obra maestra del Maiden, para mi es el Piece of Mind de los ultimos 15 años y uno de los 7 mejores discos en la historia de nuestro amado Iron Maiden!!
AN IMMORTAL Golden Gem fom their phenomenal AMOLAD...The magnificent, hypnotizing music and dazzling lyrics makes me speachless..Theese guys are supreme in telling a story, and NOT a bedtime story..the heavy riffs, blistering solos and fierce power, this is music to beat posers, that´s for sure....remarkable and utter genius !!
A magical, bewitching song, the sensational music, the obsessive lyrics, bass, drums, the godgiven voice of Bruce, all of it, makes me spellbound....An outstanding song from the best album they ever did, ( along with BNW ) the phenomenal AMOLAD....this song sends a chill in the spine, and tears in my eyes......

My hopes are gone, reach for Heaven from Hell
My sins are many
My guilt is too heavy
The pressure of knowing
Of hiding what I know
I'm able to see things
Things I don't want to see
The lives of a thousand souls
Weigh heavy down on me
I know they're crying for help, reaching out
The burden of them will take me down as well

The story is amazing
I'm a fan of Maiden, and I don't here a lot of this song being played (WHICH IS INCREDIBLE), almost like it's totally forgotten !!!!!
The voice of Bruce in this tune is more than wonderful .. I loved the album
Seriously, how can someone come up with that solo? I get goosebumps every single time I listen to it.
This song is SOOO overlooked. It's baffling. This should be in their setlist every tour.
I love this. First verse after the slow intro, I love the text. He doesn't understand, and with the music it hits pretty hard. I saw this one live once actually, awesome stuff
A Matter of Life and Death will be forever my favorite Iron Maiden album.
This is actually my favourite Maiden song, it blows me away to this day.
Me encanta esta canción, uno de los mejores solos de Dave Murray.
You need to upload this in HD and continue Mr Breeg´s history.
0ne of the most under-rated
IRON MAIDEN albums....such an amazing album* and live in full was Awesome😈🤘

Since the 80s albums and the Brave new world entire album this is by far my favorite song from them in the last 20 years absolutely love it!
I remember I heard this song when I was younger. It's been years. This song gives me chills I think
Exactly!!!
MASTERPIECE! So underrated! Then again so many Maidens albums are! Love them with passion.

We will be Victorious
One of their best albums
I am 57 now (2023) and took my my three kiddos in their teens to see Maiden with Megadeth in 2014. Maiden played like they were still 25 years old, absolutely amazing sound and concert.
Always love to see parents and grandparents with their kids at the show especially when you see the kids reaction to the show
A phenomenal and intense masterpiece !!!
This is one of the best music that express the 3 guitar tones and harmony from Maiden.

There are no words, no other band sound like them or can emanate their utter brilliance, Iron Maiden are simply outstanding!
This album was incredible.
IS
One of the greatest band in the world. Damn heaviest metal song and heavy riffs
Epic Song
The AWESOMENESS of this band.....bewitching, hypnotizing, masterpiece isn´t quite enough anymore, a remarkable and utter genius jewel in their discography, haunting from the first note, if ANYONE ever left a legacy it will be the EPITOME of metal Iron Maiden.......
When i first played DOOM back in the day i always imagined Bruce as Doom-Guy.
💜 I love Steve Harris. He's looking so pretty in this video 🖤
That opening sequence will always give me chills.
One of my favorite Maiden tunes.
The rhythm section is so heavy and plows along like a runaway train.
I wish we could see this song live again (even though I saw it live on the matter of life and death world tour back in 07) ... depressing yet so aggressive and refreshing exceptional!
Yup, I saw them in Cardiff on that tour too. And 25 other times since 1986.

*ABSOLUTELY MASTERPIECE*
AN IMMORTAL Golden Gem fom their phenomenal AMOLAD...The magnificent, hypnotizing music and dazzling lyrics makes me speachless..Theese guys are supreme in telling a story, and NOT a bedtime story..the heavy riffs, blistering solos and fierce power, this is music to beat posers, that´s for sure....remarkable and utter genius !!
Their last 5 albums are so huge you need a few listens to absorb their greatness. Cant wait until the new studio album comes out. Maiden forever
Not long to wait for it now... September 3rd approaches !
