I will never get over the sheer power of what a group of dedicated people can accomplish by being total nerds over an obscure piece of media. Keep it up the great work, y'all! I'm rooting for you! :D
The way im actually more axcited and anticipating this than any other major studio project is just to show how fantastic y'all are! Can't wait for the final product!!!
Hello! Kandi from Haus of Raggedy here! I just wanted to say that this was absolutely incredible! I wish I was there but I’m happy I got to see it virtually anyway! (This inspired me to do more Raggedy song cover as well hehe)
Actually intrigued to see it revived like I'm new to Rageddy ann and I checked it out when finding out that ragatha from tadc was inspired by raggedy ann and I was soo into it and started looking to the history of raggedy ann and its pretty impressive people still wanted to keep it alive
Lots of work done by lots of dedicated people! 1) research. The sheet music for the production wasn't available for purchase, so it involved contacting multiple different archives and the composer's family to build a use-able connection. 2) legal approval. contacting the composer's family to obtain permission to perform the songs. 3) composing. cleaning up the sheet music and making new arrangements that could be performed by our single pianist and limited cast 4) producing. calling around to find a good venue and work out a time. making sure we had all the performers in place and able to make it. hiring the pianist. crowdfunding to pay for both the venue and the accompanist. 5) rehearsals. printing out scripts and sheet music. making sure everyone knew what the plan was 6) advertising! so people knew to show up! getting flyers and programs printed 7) actually doing it! arriving at the venue, figuring out the sound setup and seating. rehearsing a couple times. telling the ushers what to do. and just knowing that we had everything preparing us for that moment so we could just go for it.
@@creativepuppetry1366 It's definitely worth a try! Though you may have some issues with the licensing concerning Disney. We were able to produce the Rag Dolly concert with approval because the rights were never bought by a larger company after the initial contract ran out. By all accounts we could dig up, the abandoned rights returned solely to the family of the artists. That makes them a lot easier to work with than a larger company like Disney.
They're handmade! Both the dresses were found on either etsy or ebay. Grey's shirt was made by Brooklyn, who sells their handmade Raggedy Ann shirts made from vintage bedsheets.

@@raggedyannrevivaleffort I think you’ve inspired me to you the same. What do you think of a small concert for Disney’s Der Glöckner von Notre Dame?
