Personally, I'm still not over Eric Wolford leaving for Bama like he did while on a recruiting trip in the state of Alabama paid for by UK. That dick move by him has hurt the OL line terribly the last few years because it happened just as UK was finally starting to recover from the death of Coach Schlarman, the original architect of the Big Blue Wall that was the UK signature during the Stoops era.

I seriously think people are sleeping on Kentucky this year. Kentucky's front 7 will be a tough nut to crack and if they improve @ CB they will be one of the top defenses in the SEC. If Brock is what Kentucky fans are hoping for and with fewer drop passes from RB and WRs then Kentucky will indeed turn some heads.

The defense overall with the best cornerback, and defensive tackle in the SEC will be strong. Only question will be the oline, with Eric Walford returning, and the new OC. Im sure Brock vandergriff will be good enough to lead a decent offense with how talented the wide receiver room and tight end room is. Some people have questions about the running back room, but i think the running back room is slept on. Chip Traynum is a freak of nature, Demi Sumo-kargbe is solid, Jason Patterson and jamarion Wilcox both are future Stars at Running back. I think Patterson is type of running back you use to see at Florida through the years, a really talented back with explosive abilities in the gaps. Jamarion Wilcox is like a little tank with Tyreek hill legs, he is extremely elusive, kind of reminds me of Deuce Vaughn at Kansas State. The running back room is good IMO. Plus the addition of Marquise Robinson that recommitted from Michigan to come to Kentucky. As a UK fan you have to ask yourself, when in your lifetime if you remember the pre stoops years do you remember UK football flipping recruits from big named programs like Michigan, ohio state, Georgia, Alabama and Clemson?? Never, Alabama usually steals our guys. Bama took Mac jones from UK, an Damien harris who was an instate running back that went on to be a really good Back. Now UK is keeping those guys, and the future looks brighter in the football program than I've ever seen it in my 34 years

Not sure I can add much to this. I will say I think Brock is going to be very solid and if he was going to have a season to break out it would be this year. The WR room is unreal with the amount of depth they have. I’m really hoping they use the TE more and I think they will because the Oline will be much improved and allow for the TEs to not have to stay bakc and block majority of snaps. The running back room is over looked but I also think with the new OC they may not be relying so much on the run as in years past but I think they will be looking to throw more to the RB. All in all it’s going to be a fun year and there is a lot to look forward too.

@@cordercorder8785 yeah well stoops and Bush Hamden both have already said that their gonna be running the ball more this year. Stoops said he wants to get back to running the ball like his teams did, however I do think that the offense will be Alot more balanced this season. And if the run game is successful then it can open up more opportunities for the wide receivers and tight ends. Brock vandergriff literally has everything he needs to show how good he can be. I think this team will be one of stoops best teams, barring any major injuries.

I don't think Stoops talking to A&M affected this program 1% . Kentucky also flirted with dismissing Stoops. This is a double edged sword. Without Stoops Kentucky takes a step backwards. Kentucky has the best offensive line coach in the country. Kentucky's biggest problem is thinking they're better than SC. They are the same program with different styles. Both teams must prepare for this game like it's the Superbowl. This is a must win game for both teams that are evenly matched. This game is pivotal for both teams fighting for SEC relevance. Kentucky must become more productive on offense to turn the corner. The game has changed, and if you can't score 30 plus points a game , you are not gonna compete for championships in this conference. That has been the problem against Tennessee. Tennessee simply does not have to work as hard to earn their points. Kentucky has not had a high flying offense since Hal Mummey.

Terry Wilson won at Tennessee and Florida. Not too many Kentucky QBs can say that 😂. I think Kentuckys problem is they have never had a complete team. Mostly offensively. Defense has consistently been good but offensively been lackluster. I look at the Georgia and Kentucky game, I think it was 2022, when Kentucky held Georgia to 16 total points and no offensive touchdowns. Kentucky just didn't have the offense to take advantage of the defensive performance.

They were second in the east and 3rd in the SEC overall in 2021. And same thing in 2018. Like every 3-4 years They are usually pretty strong. Along with a defense that has finished top 2-4 in the conference over the last 6 years. They have the best cornerback in the SEC, best defensive tackle in the SEC, one of the strongest linebacker rooms in the conference, and as a whole a top unit on the defensive side of the ball. Atleast top 5, last season they were second in the SEC in run defense but took a step back in pass defense. That should get back to normal this season. If Brock vandergriff, The new OC and O-line all are decent Kentucky will be a problem. Their roster is way more talented than alot of casual SEC fans may realize.
