The word on the Leuchtturm pen is "Drehgriffel", the D is from an old German writing system no longer in use, which is why it looks a bit weird. The first part of the word "Dreh" means turn or twist. The second "Griffel" is an old word, rarely used nowadays. It comes from "Griff", meaning grip. A griffel is a holder for chalk, like children used back in the day for learning how to write, or pencil lead. A Drehgriffel would probably be a version which you can twist so more chalk or pencil comes out, kind of like a tube of lipstick. So it might be the name for this pen, and I would guess it also comes in a mechanical pencil version that hold thicker sticks of graphite.
He missed the most important part :) If I may expand on Griffel a bit, it is also a (slightly derogatory) term for "fingers". Adults would say to children "nimm die Griffel da wech!" ("Don't touch that" or "take your greasy paws off that!") therefore, you could say the name of this pen is a very clever double entendre, proving the subtle humour we Germans are famous for ;)
I too find great satisfaction from finding the perfect storage solution / option for all of my “things”, particularly vintage tins and boxes. I started collecting old cigarette tins and use them for stickers, postage stamps and small stationery supplies I use for work (post it’s, paper clips, etc.) It brings me great joy to use them every day and I’m always on the lookout for more! Thanks for sharing yours!

I love the Yuruliku canvas pen pouch. They were just restocked a few weeks back on Baum Kuchen. All three colors. It took me a week to decide - brown, beige, or black? Hmmm. Then the brown sold out so it was just beige or black to choose from….then the beige sold out, so black it is. I had the black one in my cart while I took my time making some other choices of things to buy…by the time I got around to putting my order through, the black was sold out. I think maybe my heart just wasn’t in it, the purchasing of this pouch, because I knew it was going to sell out, yet still I waited….I think the price might have something to do with it. Baum Kuchen has such beautiful things, but you need to make up your mind and jump on them when they restock, because nothing lasts long.
Thanks for sharing the great system! So many beautiful tins. ❤ Some of my color pencils are getting quite short and I found out about pencil extenders and Balckwing makes one.
Someone recommended that pouch on reddit the other day for the Weeks. I'm finishing up crocheting one for myself temporarily, but it's nice to see this pouch used! I love your videos so much. And thanks for introducing me to TOXMOT's channel :)
You got it!!! It's such a wonderful pen case, not sure why I waited so long to get it 😂 Love how you organized it with all your daily tools. Thanks for the shoutout! 🙏
Ooh. Ouch. Shiver me timbers --> *_it's a pencil!!_* ;-p (I use them too.) Have you tried the "E+M Peanpole Wood Pencil Extender" to make extra short pencils longer? I have this pen pouch in the same color! I use it for traveling. My Canon Ivy mini printer, cable, and extra paper, along with a couple of pens and journaling supplies all fit nicely. Have not added a pin, maybe I should pick one out to put on it! Yuruliku also has an A5 journal cover/pouch similar to this case. You have an interesting collection, but I think that if you used either a Pentel P025 or Pentel QE517 Twist-Erase mechanical pencil, you could eliminate the bulky pencil sharpener. With both brands of pencil you have a choice of 0.5 or 0.7 mm leads, which are so thin they shouldn't need sharpening. Like you, I have cases, boxes, and pouches with many items in them. In the past, I've had to search thru them if I can't remember what's in them. Now I use a black Sharpie to mark the contents, such as Benu, Pelikan, Parker, or plumbing, electrical, seals & wax, &c.
That blackwing sharpener is the best! As you get into pencils have you given much thought or interest to mechanical pencils? I’ve been using a 0.35mm rotring 600 for a while and i think it would be up your alley. It has a brass body so it’s very heavy with black enamel over it which gives it such a lovely texture. It just feels so good in your hand! And i write soooo tiny so the 0.35 lead is a bonus
I'm not at all fond of rOtring. I've had the advance mechanism i=one several wear out way too fast compared to other brands that are much cheaper. I have Pentel mechanical pencils that are nearly forty years old, and that I used for hours every day, and that still work perfectly. On that same job, none of use had a rOtring last six months. Nor does 0.35 lead make any sense to me. It's nonstandard and can be very hard to find. Many brands have 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0. 7, and 0.9, so why did rOtring think 0.35 was a good idea? I sus[ect they wanted everyone to buy their lead, but whatever the reason, I think it was a terrible idea. Even if they didn't wear out so fast, that lead size would be a dealbreaker for me. Anyway, with the mechanical pencils I really like, I buy four of each lead size because I often use mechanical pencils for graphite art and I need from 4H to 4B in each lead size. It just makes like easier as an artist. I haven't done any research for a couple of years, but last time I tried I also couldn't find any 4H to 4B lead in 0.35. This, too, is a serious dealbreaker for me. But I do love mechanical pencils. Still, there are thing I can do with woodcase pencil that are extremely difficult with mechanical pencils. I can also sharpen them differently, which is a problem with mechanical pencils. And I can smell the cedar, which is a major bonus. But I have about seventy-two or so different models of mechanical pencils, and I do use them quite a bit. I gave my grandkids a bunch of models I didn't like, along with enough lead to last for years. Grandkids are the excuse I have for buying too many pencils, notebooks, and all sorts of things. Anyway, a pencil new to me is the Pentel Orenz. It's cheap, but it writes well, and it has auto-advance which makes it wonderful for drawing or writing. Put a piece of lead in, click once, and I never have to click again until the entire stick of lead is gone. It also has no lead extending past the sleeve so the is no broken lean, even when using 0.2mm. But I also have eighteen different brands of woodcase art pencils with lead ranging from 9H to 14B, and as much as I enjoy mechanical pencils, woodcase pencils are still far and away my favorite for drawing, and for writing.
I simply must have that case you keep your Canon Ivy in!! It looks like you might’ve made it yourself?? I would love to buy one from you if you’d allow me the honor🥹

I have made a video for the Liliput that you could take a look at: Kaweco Pen Thoughts: The Liliput and Supra th-cam.com/video/_77MJ75xFbc/w-d-xo.html
