    Nice & simple instructions on teaching how to do these serve and what should I expect in return from my opponent. I haven't seen any other TH-cam table tennis teacher explain what I should expect in return from my opponent. Great job Dora you are on your way. I subscribed immediately!!!

    If your a defensive player choping far away from the table. Your legs should not be as far down, but remember to go down again when you get close to the table.

    Does anyone know the physics behind the no-spin serve? The speed of the contact point on the rubber and the motion of the racket are exactly the same as those for the backspin serve. I find no explanation for the difference in spin between the two examples given in the video.

    • @arcibue
      @arcibue 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because she doesn't brush the ball, she hits the ball in the last point of the racket but the movement looks similar to backspin.

    • @abdulshafi8411
      @abdulshafi8411 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The contact area between the racket and ball is smaller (no brushing), which gives you less distance to accelerate(while contact) , since a= 2×s÷(t^2)
      When you contact the ball in front of racket, the ball brushes from front to the backside of racket(depends on your acceleration it could be less or more) and you have more distance to accelerate at contact

    It’s cool to help people understand these things but if you yourself can’t do them right, it’s probably not a great idea. What I mean by this is that none of those backspin serves stayed on the table

    • @dsharma6328
      @dsharma6328 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a difference between ghost backspin and normal backspin. Also there is the long backspin serve which noobs like you cannot handle.

  • @seatac2010

    Nice video! When would I want to serve with no spin?

    • @DoraKurimay
      @DoraKurimay  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It depends on your opponent. How does she/he can receive no spin serve and also how you can play afterward. Also, is it easy to read your no spin serve or not?

    • @kiarashriazi5124
      @kiarashriazi5124 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      One reason is to trick your opponent into giving you a higher ball to attack. When you pose for an underspin serve and make a no-spin serve, your opponent might not read that and responds as though it is an underspin serve, which results in a high ball response for your third ball attack.

    • @tabletennis82
      @tabletennis82 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I would say the no spin serve is the most underrated serve in table tennis. If you can develop an underspin serve and a no spin serve that appear the same to the opponent, it can be very effective.

    My dear,That is pendulum serve!not side spin serve.

    • @MicrosoftProjectRU
      @MicrosoftProjectRU 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is pendulum serve. My favorite serve. However almost all this serves has side spin. Special type of serve is using very high side spin and the ball move to left border rapidly. That is very effective against players without good left top spin.
