    When you say 'you' have the problem, just observe carefully,who has the problem, you'll recognise that you are the seen which seeing or witnessing 'your' problem. Also You will experience you are the seen which is impersonally witnessing 'your' ego or 'I'. Without judging. And that is the self or glimpse of brahman(pure consciousness).

    Can I please ask, something I don’t understand -
    Ramesh tell us to make a decision but not to expect a particular outcome as it’s all down to god’s grace/plan as to what will happen (ok that’s cool get that)
    But then he states that there is no chooser, no thinker, no doer - get that too great.
    But what gets me is, if there is no doer who makes the decision because you could call the entity making the decision the chooser or the doer??
    Please help, am I missing something?

    • @alsauve2986
      @alsauve2986 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Hope you have already found the answer. If not hope this helps.
      No one is making decisions. Thoughts appear from nowhere (the Source/God).
      For example, you are in a clothes shop and you want to choose between a red and a blue shirt. The first thought appears and says 'choose the red one. It would look good on you'. The second thought appears after that. It says 'choose blue'. Then the third thought says 'let's go with red because you already have a dark blue shirt in your wardrobe, so a red shirt would add more variety to your collection'. That's how the decision is made. It's just these thoughts making choices. Thoughts appear from nowhere, so in essence no one is making the choice.

  • @Jacqueline-lp6kz
    @Jacqueline-lp6kz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    A choice comes up as a thought, and a thought arises from concioussness so there is not a personal free will.. Thats what i thought... so i misunderstood?

    • @lazaroortiz9546
      @lazaroortiz9546 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As per my understanding you're right to some extent, Jacqueline. A thought arises, and we think like we have free will (at this time, we don't know it's a happening, but we instead believe it's my action), but the free will is a will of consciousness, not ours. There is a mind, but words don't arise in mind. What emerges in mind is the egoic character saying (I AM DOING ALL THIS AND THAT- AKA A FEELING OF PERSONAL DOERSHIP) We are absolutely nobody Jacqueline. That's the biggest deception that one can do to oneself. We choose one among many, thinking that it's our choice, but it is, in fact, not. Being able to select one among many seems like that's my choice but that person saying 'MY' isn't anybody. That's a fake persona.
      There is no such thing called 'ME.' Where is me? Who are you? Every single part of our physical body can be replaced these days, meaning this bone and flesh isn't us. Every single internal organ of our body can be replaced with somebody's organs meaning they are also ours as we claim. We have to understand that nothing happens without consciousness; it's too close to us that's why we don't see it. I am typing this not because there is a mind but there's consciousness. Every single word I am typing is a thought arising from consciousness (not from the mind). Practice this, and you'll notice how close consciousness is from you, and yet you never realized.

      @@lazaroortiz9546 Thank you for your response.. yes i know that mentally and sometimes a glimpse of the true nature, but my mind comes up with al these questions, but than again arent questions also thoughts? And is mind not also something that has his source in this same awareness? And why do teachers often say things like make a choice... how can i make a choice if am not the thinker of thoughts.. i sometimes feel like we are no more than a program Thats playing, does not feel like bliss and peace, i think its kind of depressing.. but typing this i realise that i,m talking from personhood.. So i guess the questions arise from ego? But of there is no person than there is also not an ego right?? Haha very confusing.. maybe i need to just relax and not overthink but let things happen..

    • @lazaroortiz9546
      @lazaroortiz9546 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Jacqueline-lp6kz you have every right to ask questions and get confused. This is how life works for all of us including those who are enlightened. There is absolutely no difference in the biological functionality of a body-mind organism whether he is self realized or not. But remember you’ll be confused only when you’re thinking. Those little glimpses of peace and bliss are like free sample from the god to intensify your seeking. That’s according to my beloved master. You are that the moment your thinking stops or even slows down. And oh my dear it’s a long process, and without a destination I repeat without a destination. You and I are not trying to go anywhere, reach any place or do anything. We have to understand that thoughts and emotions arise but arise for WHO? There are millions of thoughts and if you go one by one to analyze it might take 1000 more lifetime but that’s NOT the way. So the main boss have to be understood first which means the very ‘I’. Who’s that I ? I in undefinable so every-time you get thoughts ask that thought to WHOM it arose for ? Since we don’t yet know ourselves you cannot say anything and the question dissolves, it must. Any other thoughts or questions goes the same way. Hit its core and it collapses. I don’t mean it collapses right now but it’s a process again.. it takes its own time. It depends on the intensity of your seeking and level of your understanding. Actually that has been the way for our consciousness until THIS life where you came to realize THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG OR SOMETHING IS MISSING OR INSUFFICIENT. That’s the kickstart of your inner life journey. You neither started it nor you can end this on dear just relax. You’re already enjoying life ever since this seeking started in your life. It is because you’re more curious these days and more alert nowadays about something great might happen anytime . Also I don’t know if you’ve noticed it or not time passes faster too. The phenomenon is also called the evolution of soul.This evolution of soul is totally impersonal process. By taking care of your body, taking care of everything you do is the way to support the evolutionary process that has been going inside you without your knowledge. Put emphasis on your body including things you eat, read, listen, see, feel and all sensation. Help the evolution of the soul. I hope you have some idea now.

    How do we know that an animal is not concerned about self-realisation or enlightenment?

    • @Freddd95
      @Freddd95 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess we can assume that animals don't have egos, at least not in the way humans have. One could say egos are side-effects of the human intellect. And enlightenment means the transition from ego to source or essence. So if you don't have an ego to begin with, this kind of transition cannot take place.

    • @AuravWalden
      @AuravWalden 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Freddd95 I doubt that animals don't have egos, because a dog responds to his name and not that of another. Different dogs have different likes and dislikes. Both of these - self identity and its description in terms of what that self likes or dislikes, that make it distinct - indicate the possession of ego.

    • @Freddd95
      @Freddd95 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AuravWalden I see your point, however it seems like we have different definitions of the word "ego". So I'll try to be more specific:
      When I say "ego", I am referring to the ego-identification that is unique in the human intellect, which we all know is quite different from a dog's intellect. It is the tendency to have very specific ideas about ones unique identity, largely based on memories/past experience. As humans, most of us have very complex mental concepts about who we are, that is unique to the individual. So perhaps "ego-identification" is a better word in this context.
      In this teaching (and spiritual teachings in general), this ego-identification causes a lot of psychlogical suffering in humans, and so enlightenment is about ending this human psychological suffering through insight and experiential disidentification. All though we don't know everything about animal intelligence, we do know that it is far less complex than the human intelligence. And we know that human psychological suffering is different from animal suffering. Animals have the natural tendency to be in the present moment, without being disturbed by mental concepts and ideas, like worrying about the future for example. Many humans are in a way "suffocated" by their own ego-identification, feeling completely alienated and isolated (by their own intellect essentially).
      There is a quote from Ram Dass that I feel is relevant here: "To become nobody (enlightened) you first have to become somebody (ego-identified)."

    • @AuravWalden
      @AuravWalden 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Freddd95 Quite right! Our point of difference is that I also refer to the less complex forms of 'self identity' as ego.

    • @satoriaudio
      @satoriaudio 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AuravWalden I think you mistake an ego with individuality.Like when a dog is born you can see in its behavior certain aspects already, even before its called its name.Like one dog is more lively then the other, or more reserved ,shy, etc.We see the same phenomenon happening with humans also.That is individuality of a particular body. If that was not the case ,then all beings who lost their ego would behave in exactly the same way, which we know is not the case.Ramana was silent, Nisargadatta very fierce and lively etc.That's individuality not the ego acting.
