Cube e bikes are a steal at any level , entry to high end . I have a mid level stereo hybrid race that i paid 2500 € for about three years ago . Nothing comes close in that price range . AND, they are assembled and serviced IN Germany . and as we all know The germans are very conscientious and detail oriented and the bikes show it. Yeah you can get flashier and more expensive bikes but for the money they are impossible to beat.
Great spec and price. Cube been at the front for price & spec since they first arrived at cycle surgery. They were out best selling bike... Frames never had a warranty I knew of in over 2 years I was there... Best brand on the market in my opinion... Rock on Cube
Having looked around at a few brands. Cube offers the most bang for your buck at all the levels of spec bikes. Everyone’s crazy about specialized but they are charging a premium.
Cube is just killing it regarding value for money. Also the selection of parts is really great. I just checked several models over the last few weeks as I'm thinking about getting a new one. My current Cube Stereo 160 Super HPC Action Team from 2015 wasn't priced that agressive at that time. Nice to see they are going down in pricing! Love Cube :)

Pity about the motor noise. Surely Bosch could reduce this. Regarding the carbon frame, is this an advantage? I note the Trek Rail 5 is aluminium but a bit lighter.
Rob, I'm just shy of 6'1" tall, relatively long arms and maybe on the shorter side of legs. Would you recommend a 20" or 22"? I ride a Canyon Neuron in a "large" comfortably. Greatly appreciate the input, ordering today!

I was initially looking for either Propain Ekano or Specialized Levo but they only sell them through their website. Other brands like Haibike or Merida will not deliver their 2021 models in Belgium in 2021. Now I'm between the Cube Stereo Hybrid or the Riese & Muller mountain bike.

nice video - those trails look lovely - shame about the motor noise in turbo mode - that was a bit off-putting, the clatter over the rocks also sounded a bit much. Hopefully they iron that out.
Lovely looking bike but that noise from the motor is too much and surprising considering the leaps manufacturers are making with Ebikes. I will stick with my ever so quiet Levo.
Hi Rob. My work have just upped my C2W scheme limit to £4k. Not quite enough for the Levo I had my heart set on but seems silly to pass up a £1600 tax/NI discount. What would you get if you only had £4k to spend?
Super slick video, Rob. The Cube certainly seems good value for money, but I always seem to find that they are a little conservative with geometry. They don’t really grab me as a brand, but the new Bosch motor did... although, having heard all the noise coming from it, I’m not too sure now. Anyway, great video, nice editing and good clear commentary. Thanks Rob.
Have you ridden it? I’m a little disappointed by reports it’s noisy downhill when decoupled, there is still some resistance and the display is rubbish.
Jim 86. I am yet to, but I work in a bike shop and we’ll be getting some Trek Rail’s and Cannondale’s in as a demo fleet. My Boss recently rode a Cannondale Mottera and said that the new Bosch motor rode with little resistance after 15.5 mph, but it did make a noise. Apparently it’s something to do with how the chainring attaches to the motor. I suppose I’ll see in September-ish when we get a physical example in the shop. He did say that the new E-Mtb setting is significantly more fluid than the previous software.

I was looking into buying a FOCUS 2020 models exclusively until I saw this review... and CUBE has the best value for the money... so now I have a problem: the bike dealer closest to me (10 min drive) doesn’t offer CUBE. I have to drive 40 minutes to get to the closest CUBE dealer 😏
This is not the first time I hear complaint about 2020 Bosch motor making sounds when engaging. Something to check when buying a new bike with that system. I suspect that carbon frames do not dampen the sounds from the motor as well as alloy does.
Great video and channel Rob, just to get a size perspective, how tall are you Rob? also I've heard the bosch gen 4 motor has a loud metallic sound when disengaging above its 25km limiter, did you find this the case. A review of the 2020 Commencal power 27 and 29 would be awesome.

Nice job Rob. After 6 months still think my Stereo Hybrid 120 is a super design. Like having a plump girlfriend compared with 2020 models, but comfortable in bed. Why carbon? Weight is an illusion with e-bikes. Still whines ? Change gear and drop the noise.

I had the 2019 140 tm loved it until the free hub gave way and could not get any spares for the newman hub, at only 300 miles cube warrantee was useless, got so peeved after 9 weeks I sold the bike at a big loss, wont buy another cube

I had kenevo and I would like to have a more playful ebike but anyway from the enduro soul what would you recommend me to buy? what would you choose between levo expert, Norco Sight vlt1, Cannondale moterra 1 2020 I am still curious about what the new kenevo 2020 will look like but if I had to make the choice today what would you recommend? my height is of 168 the trai that I frequent are very varied between rock and Flow I live in Italy in Liguria and I ride very often in Finale Ligure thanks I will continue to follow your tests you are great!

@@GregoryVog Firstable you should check sizing of a particular frame, because different frames in the same sizes have different stack and reach. Generally for 183cm i would choose 20' for more agility.
Great information on what looks a good bike for the money, must comment on the footage though, felt like some space time warp thing going on with the blurring in the shots. Not your best footage. IMO
Had my Levo 2 weeks but if i had seen this before I’d have had a think - I like the look shades of the f17/b2, the engineering concept - modular, and it’s price but the noise - hmmm but then it’s a ebike - good comment on bars - it’s time mtb’s got clean bars a la aero bikes
Totally agree. I have the 2018 Cube and within the first week of riding it on some trails past some bracken one of the cables got ripped out. A small issue on what otherwise is a great bike for trail riders wanting to start going hybrid.

I have the 2019 version and i am extrem in love with it. Did the first 1000km in 3 months with it.

The saddle is all the way forward and the bars raised, so at its shortest possible configuration! No wonder it felt cramped.
For close to 5k you'd expect it to be designed right. All about profit, rather than spending to fix floors.

Great vid, nice bike, but my gosh the cables... I couldn't cope with that routing on/around the handlebars.
It's just cables dude. Been like that on mountain bikes for generations and never bothered me 1 second

Motor noise in the video sounded like you were strangling a cat.
GoPro actually makes it sound louder than reality. But it’s still noisy in turbo mode.

Nice it’s certainly a nice improvement and puts it up there. Not enough for me to change my E8000 Meta Power though 🤘

There is a bit of noise from the motor. A ‘clunking’ sound that I could hear over rocky descents.

Yep I had a horror story after warranty....someone else's problem now
I had the 2019 140 tm loved it until the free hub gave way and could not get any spares for the newman hub, at only 300 miles cube warrantee was useless, got so peeved after 9 weeks I sold the bike at a big loss, wont buy another cube

good evening I would like some advice since you do a lot of tests on Ebike ... I had kenevo and I would like to have a more playful ebike but anyway from the enduro soul what would you recommend me to buy? what would you choose between levo expert, Norco Sight vlt1, Cannondale moterra 1 2020 I am still curious about what the new kenevo 2020 will look like but if I had to make the choice today what would you recommend? my height is of 168 the trai that I frequent are very varied between rock and Flow I live in Italy in Liguria and I ride very often in Finale Ligure thanks I will continue to follow your tests you are great!
Cool bike and design. I think they need to work on a better color combo and really cleanup those cables IMO. The motor is a bit noisy, perhaps coming through louder on you video micro?? Cheers Rob!
Yeah the GoPro has a tendency to amplify that noise!
Considering this bike, but I’m not sure about the size. How tall are you, riding an 22"? I’m 180cm, do you think the 20" will be big enough?
For 180cm 22' would be a little big.

@@GregoryVog Firstable you should check sizing of a particular frame, because different frames in the same sizes have different stack and reach. Generally for 183cm i would choose 20' for more agility.

Great information on what looks a good bike for the money, must comment on the footage though, felt like some space time warp thing going on with the blurring in the shots. Not your best footage. IMO

Had my Levo 2 weeks but if i had seen this before I’d have had a think - I like the look shades of the f17/b2, the engineering concept - modular, and it’s price but the noise - hmmm but then it’s a ebike - good comment on bars - it’s time mtb’s got clean bars a la aero bikes

That cable management is a nightmare.
Totally agree. I have the 2018 Cube and within the first week of riding it on some trails past some bracken one of the cables got ripped out. A small issue on what otherwise is a great bike for trail riders wanting to start going hybrid.
