Fantastic information honestly and as someone said thanks for not gatekeeping. One thing I heard towards the end though, except for very specific types of contracts, governed by certain acts, a witness is not a requirement for a contract. It’s nice to have for evidence purposes but a contract is still binding between two signatories. I’d still say get a second set of eyes and signatures on it though

When the money is going towards instalment, insurance & tracker that is still okay because it means the car/your investment is maintaining itself.

Personally I’d advise against this business especially if you’re not going to be driving the car yourself. You make less money while you loose more because the costs of fixing and servicing the car are on you as the owner of the car . The person who makes more money and gains in this business is the driver.
The driver will make private trips that you will not know about, especially those short distance trips that you won’t even notice on the mileage and won’t notice on the tracking device because they will just be around where they work.
Drivers can also register on Indrive and all these other services that you will not know about. Driver end up having staff of people they transport to and from work that you won’t know about because it will be on the way to work and back. I know all this information because I’ve been in this business and I saw the many ways one could make money if they are driving the car and how if you’re just the owner of the car and don’t drive the car would loose.
Also there are months where business is just not good and there, your driver would even show you evidence of the total number of trips they did on the app and you then can’t get the standard amount of the money you all agreed upon.

I couldn’t have said this any better. I think both sides of this business should be presented. I for one had 3 cars on Uber and all these challenges you have presented I faced ended up selling one of the cars and I am left with two but even so, I struggle with drivers that are not honest , do private trips, transport school kids and staff but still don’t make enough on the app. When the car has issues which is almost every week, it becomes my problem. It’s honestly not easy money at all. In fact, probably gives me more anxiety than my actual 9 to 5 job.
I’m not even going to start with the Admin of Uber. 😢
@@lindiwemtshali1643 even if you have a tracker, you can not monitor the private trips because they make sure they are in the same area where they work so you can’t pick them up.
Also the money that Owamie said she makes per month is money you can make in 8 days as a driver. The ehailing business is good in Gauteng and drivers make a lot of money but as the owner of the driver you honestly don’t make much. And R1800 per week is too little, you can make that in a day as a driver.
not to mention the horror from these drivers, it is a costly and very risky business, my personal experience was not good, the money was not even worth the troubles, good luck to you with these drivers, its not a smooth money at all, your car is not in good hands unless you drive yourself,
