    People must remember that a car that was once e.g R250,000 still requires the maintainance of a R250,000 car even if you find it for R50,000 used.

      Lal the required maintenance at 50K will probably be more than what was required when it was 250K

    The pre owned car market is south Africa at the moment is crazy . If you're looking for a second hand vehicle right now and you've found something, offer the dealer 15&20 % less than the asking price as that would be the actual retail book value . Also take into account that you have registration fees and other admin costs . That would be around 4k . Check when the last and next service is , because most people sell just before a major service because it's really costly . Check the tires are the same make , model and have legal amount of tread . Make sure all panels line up and paint all matches in colour . Buying pre owned is a gamble for sure and definitely don't rush into buying something that seems to good to be true .

    I bought a Suzuki swift 2017 1.2ga in 2020 for 90k with 42000km, after servicing it, it has never broke down on me. I always service it on time and ask my Mechanic if it needs something new. My only mistake was having an accident with it in 2021, I drove it for a year and in 2022, I had to work on the suspension after being fixed. As insurance only fixed the body but not the mechanical DAMAGE, indoda made a plan. I knew that it was accident repair after buying and Nami I had the accident on the same side. Beside that, it as clocked 100000km last week and fuel efficiency is 19km/l. Buying an 100k car, please do check accident repairs and all.

    My 2007 A4 has 313,000 km, engine top was redone last year (it cost a lot) and I'm planning to do the suspension this year and maybe refresh the headlights.
    With these old cars you have to be very consistent with maintenance and the car will take care of you. It also helps to know how to do some things yourself, just in case. Also find a good workshop /mechanic.

    • @dinopadayachee8289
      @dinopadayachee8289 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Demo's are only good options if you were initially setting out to buy a brand new car. You'll get a few thousand off the brand new price and maybe a some extras thrown in to sweeten the deal.
      A good financial buy if you're looking for something that's not too old is a 3 year old second hand car because almost all of the depreciation would have been paid off by the first owner, and you may still have some warranty or service plan left on the car.

    Trackers are useless but at least they reduce your insurance premium. I don't expect to have it recovered with the tracker, I just want the savings. Do the maths before though, make sure that you're actually saving. For me it's around R200 a month in savings (even with the monthly cost of the tracker factored in). Doesn't seem like much but it adds up over time.

It's not that the German machines are not reliable. It's just that they are more expensive to repair on the case where something were to go wrong and need replacing.

    Amazing informative video Sir. May i please ask, what mileage is too high in your opinion for a second hand CLA or C200?

      Depends on who's asking. Generally with modern luxury cars if the warranty and maintenance plan is expired, the mileage is too high.

    Bhuti Muzi i've been checking out your videos, i few questions
    Is it safe to buy a car. Then in the proccess of buying. You take the car to the road worthy testing centre to check any problems.
    Then servicing the car just after you finilised with payments. And before driving it from the dealer

    Hi Muzi, please assist me here. I have suspicions that I was sold an accident car without my knowledge. How do I check if a car was involved in an accident or not???? I drive a 2021 Hyundai Grand i10 I got from Carter Renault - it's pre-owned.
