Your videos are exceptional. I photograph (almost exclusively) birds, so fast shutter speeds, high burst rates, etc with no supplemental lighting. I've never done done studio photography and, in fact, have never been in a proper photography studio. Yet, I'm going through all your videos with keen interest. I'm going to buy myself a speedlight and wireless trigger for Christmas! Then, I suppose, I'll watch your videos again!
Each video is an experience, many times I think I know everything about how it is going to be done and that it is not going to surprise me, but I always learn something new, thank you teacher for your passion to share

Flash is measured in energy, not power and the exact value is irrelevant. It will depend on the energy available in the lighting unit, the efficiency of any modifier used distance, etc.. The flash unit I used had a maximum energy of 500 J and was set to an energy level of 5 out of 10 which equates to about 16 J. About the same as a small speed light flash. Hope that helps. what a pity, a Sinar P2 in the background, and he goes for a dslr 😞 when that P2 would have been perfect for this shot!!!!! (PS the S in sinar stands for Studio, exactly where you are at!!!). also using the Sinar P2 you could have improved that shot, by adding an angle, aka a receding plane, and do selective focus (tilt\shift\swing) to make the subject shine.

@@CameraClubLive yes, what a shame all those skills and knowledge are not as prevalent any more; but you still can show it, just add a Fuji GFX via an adaptor on the back, like a cambo actus system, but on steroids, or even some dslr's , just need the right adaptor, then you can use it digitally. but Yes, we do need some more 'how to's' on this stuff, as the more stuff out there, the more confident people are in using film, and hence the bigger cameras.
@@CameraClubLive no worries, but as some feedback, if you could explain how to do it, brand agnostic, so the flash setup can be done by anyone, whether using a film slr, MF camera, or dslr \mirrorless as you have done, as some of it, perhaps by necessity was " edited" in, setup beforehand, like assembling the softboxes and lights, great you showed us how to adjust them to the shot; but if we are using film, Negative, or slide, how does it change how we meter for it, ie: do we meter shadows rather than highlights?

What was the filter used in the background lighting?
I used a Lee 019 gel filter.
