I've had a lifetime of leaf or combination 1:1 trucks growing up. My old Bronco is still leaf rear/coil front. I like 4 link with RC because I never really get to play with those on 1:1.
I like the travel and flex of coils. I had both but converted the leaf sprung p407 to 8 link. IMO, the scale is wrong for the material. Would be hard to make a multi leaf spring that performs well. Helps if you add some sprung weight to the chassis to help dampen the liveliness of the leafs. For my course, I don't need leafs. Been there, done that. I tend to reserve that to mud and monster truck types.
I’ve got a Gmade Sawback leaf spring rig that I really enjoy. It’s drives way different than my Element Enduro and the TRX4. If I’m looking for a challenge I drive the Sawback. But if I’m out on a quick run I’ll drive the coil spring rigs. Love them all.
My TRX4 and element sat on the shelf for so long I sold them and I only drive my leaf rigs now. I have a linked RC4WD jeep but that’s a cross Country so it doesn’t get driven lol.
Enjoyed it. That got along way better than I thought it was going to. You said you weighed the wheels and relied solely on the leaf springs. Looked like it worked out. Yeah their shocks suck but the trucks themselves are pretty impressive
Matt from SBG mentioned a glue the other day in a video... maybe at the start of his ampro sand scorcher build part 2. It was a non crazing product he uses for windows, lights etc... Cool video as always. Really enjoyed watching the marlin crawler do its thing. Cheers mate 👍
Rc4wd is definitely my favorite to watch. Also, there are much better tire options than the Irok. Pitbull tires are my favorite, also the new rc4wd compound tires are mucho improvement over the irok tire compound. Spoil yourself and change em up.
@@westdesertwheeler most certainly will , thank you for heads up , going to to moab first and then probably going to canyonlands , any other suggestion we want to explore a lot of the state
Man we took it on a huge trail run the other day and I Taco'd all four of my Leafs it's still trucking but damn them leafs are wavy 🤣😂 my shocks started sticking too but I found out that it was a bent shaft so I straightened them out and they're smooth again
I will grab a tube of that glue! Yeah I may have bent mine recently too... oh well. My shock shafts lost their chrome finish in just a few months of running. Like 3 months...
What size batteries you running in this rig? I’m actually thinking of grabbing some heavier 3s lipos over stock to add weight to assist the leaf springs in the flex department. Do you think I’ll run into issues with braking axles? I’ve just ordered a fusion SE 1800kv combo for it.
I was going to go with one of these then talked myself in to the C2X. Now im saving so I can have a leafsprung truck also. the rc4wd shocks on the c2x are much improved.
I bought the 1.9 for my capra ..the build took me 2 days lol the transmission was a 3hr nightmare lol...love my marlin quality is off the charts..hey how is your body attached in the back I noticed no clips?
Awesome vid! Did you modify the leaf springs at all or are you running all 3 leafs in all 4 corners? Also what servo are you running? Love that truck and the way you filmed it!
I had a sawback and liked it. Ended up trading it for a scx10. The axial was my daughter's and she was having problems with it and she liked the jeep better so we traded. Someday I'll get another.
I'm selling my scx10 pro, and just got an offer for a trade on a tf2 lwb. It's done up nice. I'm not a huge comp guy. If I do, I like class 1 most. Iv never owned a rc4wd. Are they worth it. Asking you would be best... haha. You put trucks through the proper tests.
E6000 is holding all our tf2s together 🤣😂 🤜💥🤛
I love my leaf spring. It’s the truest form of crawling
The first realy slow crawling Marlin Video ha ha! Nice job.
Very cool! I enjoy the great video quality, and your commentary includes tips and insights.
Love this truck ! Nice seeing talent drive it, capability is awesome !!
Your videos are awesome! Enjoy the commentary and helpful hints during the videos. Love the TF2 and can’t wait to get one.
Awesome truck. So scale and legit.

These tf2 videos are some of my favorite ones that you do. Really makes me want to buy one.
I bought the same truck because of these vids you won't regret it its amazing
Thanks, glad you like them! I’ve been hearing that a bit, maybe I’ll get a second RC4WD 🤔
@@westdesertwheeler im dying to get the lwb 4dr
I love the location, the rocks and the squezed tires look awesome. Great videos, I like them very much. The zig zag turn was new to me.
Thanks for watching!
Cool realistic looking video just started crawling\CO
Loved my tf2, sold it and really wish I wouldn’t have! It’s just a different driving style that’s also fun
Definitely a different driving style. I like the change from my buggy crawlers
What a great spot! Truck looks fun too!

Awesome to see the Marlin doing so well out there!
Oh yeah, it eats it up!

Nice, yeah I definitely like being able to choose

I miss this truck!!
I made many videos with it!

Thanks man, I’ll dig around!

Damn that trucks performs and the tires grip. Can’t wait to wheel Utah in August
Bring lots of batteries, so much to wheel here

Awesome driving skill
Lube shock orings with a silicone lube to prevent sticking.

Looks like your tires are real slack witch is great did you remove the foam or are them all stock I'm looking into buying one of these marlins

The C2X is definitely cool, I wanted a leaf spring rig to be different
I had no clue you could get leaf springs on an RC car! I like the flex in the tires!
Haha yeah man, you can buy a truck set up with them right out of the box
@@westdesertwheeler It is a good thing you showed me this. Now I have to spend some money.
I've got 4 rc4wd vehicles and I've yet to take them outside lol if I could get past the fear of scratching them I'd probably have some fun .
Great video bud! Love the marlin. Besides the mods there is no need to upgrade
Sweet ride
Any thoughts on the long wheelbase TF2 I have the SWB and love it. Thanks
I bought the 1.9 for my capra ..the build took me 2 days lol the transmission was a 3hr nightmare lol...love my marlin quality is off the charts..hey how is your body attached in the back I noticed no clips?
I just use the screws at the bottom of the doors to hold it on! Body posts didn’t seem to do much
@@westdesertwheeler cool ...ya I put those traxxas body post white washers on the rear took the rattle out of the body
How fast does it go with thaf brushless system with out taking crawling
Thinking I’m picking the 4door up. The coil trucks are boring.
stock tires - very nice
Awesome vid!

Another Great Video!
Thank you!
Hi. Been watching your vids. Great driving. May i know what front bumper is that?
I built it with the help of Low Range RC
This look like a awesome
I was just wondering when you where gonna post a vid with this truck again lmao
Nice, I try to cycle through as I post

Sounds like some awesome rigs
What foams are you running?
Stock foams stretched over wheel weights
Shoe goo should work. You can get in in clear or black.
Thanks
