Depending on how you look at it, Princess Peach: Showtime is kinda Balan Wonderworld done right. Going to a magical theatre to fight a dark force, solve peoples problems and use different costumes for new powers.
I remember watching Alpharad’s video about that game and all the comparisons he made between them. Obviously looks like a much better game and would love to pick Showtime up at some point (still have to play through The Thousand-Year Door though)

This game is the embodiment of everything seems good but the gameplay isn't
100%. It felt like they poured 90% of their time into the world and characters and then realized they only had like a week to make the game itself
