I think age difference is not an issue if two people have chemistry and compatibility, but since most of the desi men prefer a huge age gap for the intent of controlling the girl so one needs to be careful and look out for such low lifes, otherwise age doesn't really matter if the guy is a gentleman.
For first question, I think he should make a goal of making his income double or 50-60% more. If he gets near to 30-40% increase, consider yourself a high intellectual or someone who has the art of making money. If that's the case, I think you should go for marriage considering you already have your father support and you do not need to take care of them financially. When you get married, your income might further go up 30-40% and probably double your income right now. This will bring you a lot of self confidence and you can grow. Moreover, idk about family planning but I personally think you should marry first and think about child etc only after you are able to take care of everything financially. End of the day, go for the marriage if you are able to earn good. Everything will fall in place accordingly.

I totally agreeee, both for men & women it's important in today's age to be financially independent first and than think of having a partner. Age doesn't matter, because money is one of the primarly need in life if u want to leed a good life, its the reality. But unfortunetly in our society the concept of financial indenpendence is not inculcated in our kids, hence we raise them in an enviornment where everyone is dependent on eachother.
