CAR TOUR | i left my engineering job to live in my prius

- I am on leave of absence from my engineering job and living in my 2018 Prius Prime! This is a quick tour of my current living setup as I prepare to head out on the Colorado Trail. Living in a Prius has its unique challenges but it’s been super easy to set up and live in while traveling full time for races.

Engineer here as well. I too took a 3 month leave of absence from my job , which turned into 6 months. I traveled from the Midwest US to backpack Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. This was 35 years ago. It was one of the most memorable adventures in my life. More young people should do this. Best wishes on your future adventures.
PS, I currently own a Prius Prime Advance and occasionally stealth camp in it. They're great cars.
The Prius Prime was my FAVORITE car - I just moved to colorado and needed an AWD car so had to upgrade to a RAV4 hybrid. Love it but definitely miss the Prius sometimes!
Girl same! Im 35 and I had my corporate job for 11 freaking years! and I am glad I left and I car life now work online and became a teacher at the same time the best decision I have ever made!

Nice! I just finished hiking the Colorado Trail...it was amazing, enjoy the journey. Also, may I suggest carry an umbrella, it will help protect you in the hot areas and keep the rain off you. I had tons of rain, keeping your core dry is key. Even with rain gear, you can get soaked. Cheers!

So great to see you living all these adventures! I assume you're not running while doing the Colorado trail, are you afraid of losing running fitness? How are you planning to get back to running after the Colorado trail?
Boy the Prius could fit in your old Sprinter van😂 waaaay better on gas though! You’re definitely making the most of the space, nice job!
Also if you could recommend the roof racks you bought and the bike rack. I live in a Prius and I want to add roof top storage. Sold my bikes when I moved into which sucked so being able to get one again would be sweet
yes!! i have the Toyota OEM roof bars! the bike rack is Thule :)
I left after the Selenite that is charging the other rocks thing
So awesome to see young folks NOT succumb to corporate America & go on to do their own thing. I have had the pleasure of knowing some Americans in their early 20s working in National parks, as fire fighters, or at a farm.....doing what they love. As opposed to Asian kids who are taught to be a doctor or an engineer & there's no other career path that is good enough
Where do you store water and how much? How often are you having to make trips to the store?

Be advised tho' in order to keep our country going we're gonna need gals like you in the corporate scene... if for no other reason to compete enough with other countries to let people like you have the good life you've found!
