To answer the burning question (no pun intended), no I’m not getting any fire footage, however my good friend @310fire is getting some amazing footage himself, click the link below to check out his video of Day 1 of the Palisades Fire! Very cool, never knew fire departments had their own dozers, I thought they would be contracted out. Guess when you live in a fire prone area the dozer is just as important as the fire trucks themselves, and nothing beats the response time of having one yourself vs contracting
From the Newberry County, SC Fire Service - You guys are amazing. Most people have no idea what you are heading into on this video but we do. Stay safe and God Bless
Awesome catch. Here in Boise we can get really nasty brush fires, and it's always a bit of relief when the dozer arrives on scene. They take a while though - I've heard the dozer called out to a brush fire, taken a call on my truck, complete the call and clear the call, then be called to the same brush fire, and arrive on scene before the dozer does.
I am currently visiting family in California and had to evacuate my Grandmas house in Sierra Madre due to the Eaton Canyon fire. Luckily her house is fine. But unfortunately that can't be said for the thousands of families who lost everything. I am from MA and have never witnessed anything like this. When I was evacuating with my mom I was getting really scared as the winds were really strong and the fire was coming down the mountain very quickly. Good news is that the winds calmed down so that air support could come in. It's really devastating to watch the news and see all of the destruction and thousands of people who lost everything. Thank you to all of the first responders
I’m very grateful to hear your house survived the mass destruction, it’s even unclear if many fire stations are destroyed or not, I wish you guys the best and be able to move on a much higher note. 🙏🏻
Gotta love the car passing the Dozer Transport on the right side.... guess they missed that part of the DMV test, that says to stay back 300' behind emergency vehicles !
LAFD doesn’t send their dozers out as much as LACoFD or CalFire and the past 2 years have been a wet season for Los Angeles so the dozers have been scarce with calls, this was actually the first call with the new Peterbilt since they were delivered late last year
