Its the most underrated song because it is probably their best song if you look back. Since it didnt get huge coverage, and its progessive nature. Love it.
I wanted to be at this show,! When Superunknown came in stores, it really blew my brains. Songs like Fresh Tendrils, Limo Wreck, Like Suicide and Head down are by far the most beautifal songs i ever heard. Big peace to Chris,Kim,Ben & Matt Ps. Killer ass drumsolo by Matt, very underrated drummer!
This was one of Ben Sheppard's babies. He never got enough credit for being a driving creative force in this band. Excited to see these guys together again.
Ben is an INCREDIBLY underrated songwriter. He's a damn good bassist, but people always forget his musical contributions to Soundgarden. I really wish I got to see them live last time they rolled around.
this song is the reason i bought a resonator decades ago...which the studio track is done on (at least one of the multiple guitar tracks is)...i've left a trail of Guitar Centers with Nationals or Dobros in Open C doubled 5th tuning. still remember jamming it w/ my old gf who turned me on to SG. love all the "dobro" songs SG did.
totally agree.... this is Ben Shepherds most stunning piece of writing...imho also I consider 'drown in me' the best opening track of an album I ever heard....it still knocks me off my feet...
Why would a band write a song about someone who is still alive? hahaha, this is a great song I love everytime I hear this song and then it segues into one of the greatest songs ever
firstime I bought superunknown cd, I blast the volume I was drinking getting drunk I was trippin cuz this song was playing its had that pychedelic vibe the album version awesome song still!
Soundgarden is not overrated, IMO. Soundgarden was making "grunge" music even before Nirvana. Fact is, Kurt was a huge fan of Soundgarden and considers them to be one of his inspirations. IMO, Kurt is overrated. If he hadn't killed himself, he wouldn't be as popular as he is now. He made good music but the hero worship is just overkill. Again, all just my opinion.
Matt cameron is the biggest influence on my drumming. His style is so fucking unique, its "simple" yet so fucking hard at the same time. this song though, is anything but simple to play.
was just listening to this song in the car, & wanted to see if they ever did this live, seemed hard to reproduce but they do a great job. CC does decent as well, he sometimes can't reproduce those screams or high singing(understandable). A dark, heavy, eerie, moody song to me. Like a sick killer's theme, making his victim bow down. Great "marriage" of words & music.
And we're in the same "frecuencia". I like Soundgarden, but I love Nirvana too. Honestly, we can't compare Matt with Dave nor Ben with Krist. They're in a different level, but the chemistry I found in Kut's songs is pure... well... chemistry. I'm sorry I if did sound aggressive, but my english sucks. Cheers!
That's right,Soundgarden is the best grunge rock band and the best rock band of the 90's,when i think about 90's great music,i think instantly about Soundgarden
@VinMetal666 Yeah I realized that I wrote Matt instead of Ben. He wrote very few songs for them and this one is one of my favorites of all time by them.
And who got writing credit for that one? Is it not the base player? (I'm going on incapacitated memory....) The guitar transition after chorus is spectacular.
What?!? If you got that from Wikipedia then your forgetting that it also says Greg Keplinger also did drums and percussion on Head Down. This leads me to believe that its a load of crap, or that ben didnt drum on the song.
I completely disagree this song would have been a hit, it is one of the best on Superunknown. If the others were hits, this would be right up there. No hard feelings though dude, we're all fans of a great band.
i met the guitarist playing volleyball in goa didnt realise until he left and said he was in a rock band he was wearing a turban in india keeping it real with his gora girlfriend
I guess you mean the track " Let me drown" from the Superunknown album. Nevertheless, i exactly know what you mean. The song has a stunning guitar intro. It sucks knowing how the music has changed over the years. Nowadays music is written to make money, not to make music. What was an art, has become a regular office job anyone could do, if they have a face that would sell. Makes me sick
Just your opinion, bro. I'm a big Radiohead's fan, but Phil will never play as great as Matt does. Superunknown is a masterpiece, if not because of musical skills (as you said) then just because of the use of open tunnings, and differente time patterns (excuse my poor english, but "time" for me is the compas, the time signature). Anyways, I don't how why someone could compare Thom's work with Soundgarden. It's like aaahhmm Kenny G vs. Miles Davis.
SOUNDGARDEN fill my ears, my heart and my soul.THANKS A LOT FOR THEIR MUSIC.
went through some serious depression in my life... Chris Cornell's lyrics were my best friend. Great Recording.
Still rocking this in 2023. Cornell forever. ♥️
Its the most underrated song because it is probably their best song if you look back. Since it didnt get huge coverage, and its progessive nature. Love it.
the Beatles of their era - no one was composing music like this. and i was there in '64
it takes you to a different place...really cool
I wanted to be at this show,!
When Superunknown came in stores, it really blew my brains. Songs like Fresh Tendrils, Limo Wreck, Like Suicide and Head down are by far the most beautifal songs i ever heard.
Big peace to Chris,Kim,Ben & Matt
Ps. Killer ass drumsolo by Matt, very underrated drummer!
Soundgarden - what a great combination of musical talent and heavy grunge attitude. Without equal.
Thanks for posting this song
FINALLY! A LIVE VERSION OF THIS SONG!
Fantastic song!!!
This is such a great and underrated song in their discography. This is in my top 5 or 10 for sure.

wooaw!!! never heard live version of this track!!! surely my favorite!!! Matt Cameron rules!!! ..........the other too, of course!!
This is one of the few songs Matt Cameron wrote and sung for the band. Probably my fav from them
Thanks man ¡¡ I was in England these days ¡¡ I remember it all ¡¡ My first time in London ¡¡ I heard this song in Virgin records.
without a doubt one of the best drummers....
One of my favorites song ever.
such a raw song, one of the bests of the album!
This was one of Ben Sheppard's babies. He never got enough credit for being a driving creative force in this band. Excited to see these guys together again.

love all the "dobro" songs SG did.
totally agree....
this is Ben Shepherds most stunning piece of writing...imho
also I consider 'drown in me' the best opening track of an album I ever heard....it still knocks me off my feet...
OMG. I love CC but I never knew he played lead like that on those songs. Thanks!
Why would a band write a song about someone who is still alive? hahaha, this is a great song I love everytime I hear this song and then it segues into one of the greatest songs ever
Absolutely savage. Superunknown is in my top 5 albums.
firstime I bought superunknown cd, I blast
the volume I was drinking getting drunk
I was trippin cuz this song was playing
its had that pychedelic vibe the album version
awesome song still!
epic !

Awesome Loudlove ♥️🤘🔥
i'm glad they've incorporate a light show as of late.
among my soundgarden all time top five. not this version, but the song itself. ben shepherd is a freakin genius.
was just listening to this song in the car, & wanted to see if they ever did this live, seemed hard to reproduce but they do a great job. favorite soundgarden song!
And we're in the same "frecuencia". I like Soundgarden, but I love Nirvana too.

Shepherd - lead us. Their best trip song.
That's right,Soundgarden is the best grunge rock band and the best rock band of the 90's,when i think about 90's great music,i think instantly about Soundgarden
good job on that fender jazzmaster guitar :) keep on rocking chris cornell with or without soundgarden
I agree, the ritmic section of Soundgarden is the bomb, makes difficult easier!
I think he did, it says in the booklet that you get with the album
why isn't there any Pro shot stuff from this stage of Soundgarden? It's insane. Every other big band of that era has Pro Shot live shows.
what a beast of a band they were!!! they could handle so many styles, but in the end it always was edgy!
Soundgarden is and will always be the greatest grunge band ever!!!!
superunkown has to be one of the best albums of the 90's
it's the best album ever
Awesome.
hell yeah, is there a live version of half?
Matt may be playing them live, but the drums on this song were actually by Ben Shephard.
yeahh!!! love soundgarden, not underated, people dont know!!!!! love this shit!!!
ahh chris is sporting the black hole sun video t shirt...i want one
Chris is wearing the Zero shirt he wore for the "Black Hole Sun" vid. haha.
@VinMetal666 Yeah I realized that I wrote Matt instead of Ben. He wrote very few songs for them and this one is one of my favorites of all time by them.
This is my favourite Soundgarden song, but I'm a drummer, so I guess I'm biased...hehe
and the Fell on Black Days vid also.
And who got writing credit for that one? Is it not the base player? (I'm going on incapacitated memory....) The guitar transition after chorus is spectacular.
Damn I wish they would get back together.
chris rules,, soundgarden rules,, chris cornell dico stu now days!!
Ben Shepherd can surely write a great song!!!
Kim Thayil is the Angus Young of Grunge rock
Does anyone know where this show was?
@BigNick419andholding Except Ben Shepherd wrote this song.
was this in 94' ?
a person doesn't have to be dead for a song to be written about them, or for it to be a tribute.. yer thinking of a memorial.
i know chrisses long hair is like a trademark but i like it shorter, especially in audioslave.same for kirk hammett
What?!? If you got that from Wikipedia then your forgetting that it also says Greg Keplinger also did drums and percussion on Head Down. This leads me to believe that its a load of crap, or that ben didnt drum on the song.
Type in chris cornell scream if you like being disappointed...
Ben wrote this one.
I completely disagree this song would have been a hit, it is one of the best on Superunknown. If the others were hits, this would be right up there. No hard feelings though dude, we're all fans of a great band.

Makes me sick
Just your opinion, bro. I'm a big Radiohead's fan, but Phil will never play as great as Matt does. isn't this song about or a tribute to kurt cobain?
no
@@user-ju6zx3rm8d slow down.. that's an overload of info to fit in a single post.
SOUNDGARDEN fill my ears, my heart and my soul.THANKS A LOT FOR THEIR MUSIC.
