  • Djs if you're looking for a fun and unique lighting option check this out.
    This is the decor MBSK mirror ball stand with a motor capable of holding mirror balls from 8" in. up to 20" in.
    The package comes with a white scrim to cover the tripod stand and has a power cable with an on/off switch incorporated into it to turn motor rotation on or off.
    The stand works perfectly with the 20" Eliminator and ADJ Saber Spot Go wireless lights.

    Yes The Eliminator Decor Is A Very Cool Product. I Bought One In December For A 50th Surprise Birthday Party. It Was The Talk Of The Party. The Client Said It Was Perfect For The Occasion. It Brought Back A Lot Of Memories Of Their Disco Days.

    Disco balls absolutely rock. Scrims though - not so much... It would look better without it - especially since by definition it's dark if you set up a disco ball, and you want the ball to look as if it's hanging from the ceiling - which it will since the stand is clean black. Scrim makes it look cheesy imho. Will definitely look into this disco ball and lights. the real challange is going to be to fabricate a long horizontal bar that mounts on a tall stand, and then install the ball on the edge of it so that it's located above people's heads and closer to the middle of the dance floor. I think that might be doable with a little effort. Fwiw, my own choice for a unique light feature that's super easy to use, weighs next to nothing but is super impressive are the chauvet freedom sticks. I highly recommend them for you. Thank you for the great vid :)

    Mirror balls are just one of the most effective lights you can have. I've been using them for 26 years now. They will fill up a entire room - floor, ceilings and all 4 walls all at once. The slower the motor the better. 1 RPM is great. There's nothing worse then a mirror spinning around at a high revolution - majorly dizzy. There have been manufacturers that have come up with "fake" mirror balls with a light inside that shines thru lens of the metal ball. I've had a couple of these and found they do not have anywhere close to the light spots in the room that the real thing has. I just wish they'd make a spot light that was super bright. Most of them are 3 watt LED pin spots. The Saber you have is 15 watts. Why can't they put a 60 watt or bigger bulb like those in LED moving head fixtures in a pin spot can. That would be super sweet!

      I was thinking of adding 2 of these. 1 on each side of the booth. Is that overkill? Would 1 suffice?

    • @MarkSchwenn
      @MarkSchwenn 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@billpatterson9361 Yes I'd say it was over kill but then again, I'm all about the balanced look visually if possible. 1 is more then enough so if you could located it behind you which would be in the center of your set up - that would give it a balanced look while only using 1 ball.

    Great vid. Disco balls are defiantly a major go. Plus that spot light can be used for 1st dance. Great content so far. It's awesome to see what other DJs are doing to add that extra sauce. It helps us all keep our game up. Subscribed.

    Not one of my favorites Mirrorball stands compared to the one we used to make many years ago. it was black w adjustable height with outlets on the bottom and the detachable base was much more Compact and not so visible ;) I still use the ADJ/ or Eliminator pin spots on my ADJ Mirrorball and ADJ stand. Nice video & effect is pretty good. I'd be more than glad to send you 2 Eliminator 4515 pin spots.

    Good Job on the video DJ Rachel. I have the same set-up and I agree with you. I feel the mirror ball is the BEST least appreciated light show in the entertainer business. The only thing is the set-up. The pin spot you use is great but I found something just as good but much cheaper. American DJ PinPoint Gobo Color. I really wish someone would invest an "inflatable" mirror ball. :)

    • @DJRachelLynch

      I don’t think there’s one answer here. It depends on the room and how much space you have to work with. There’s some events where there’s no way I have enough room behind me. There’s also the room size to consider as well and how you want to fill the space. I make my decision when I arrive.
