Nice video. I actually have the same boat. I bought it a couple of years ago. It didn't have the windshield when I bought it and no motor. It did have the original wood benches but I removed them. It was pretty thrashed when I obtained ownership. I cleaned it up and customize it a bunch. I made a deck boat out of it. The front including all the steering and just about all the metal that covers the front is gone. i cut it out with a jig saw. I built a deck and put a floor in it. carpeted everything and building storage lockers here shortly. Thanks for the video
Our family had a mid sixties 14’ Starcraft fiberglass runabout. Originally powered with a 54’ Johnson 25 hp. Manuel start. We later switched to a 56’ Johnson 30hp. Electric start. The boat pulled both my brother and I on water skis with either motor just fine. Dad switched to the 56’ model mainly because our uncle had bought it new two years earlier and found it to be under powered on his heavy 16’ fiberglass Steury. The 56’ also had an electric choke. just like the the Alan Jackson song ‘Drive’. With the electric start, this made it possible for my brother and I to take the boat out alone...Tears in my eyes...Thanks For The Memories....Gary in Michigan !
I love your video! I just finished cleaning up our 1963 16’ StarCraft “Star Dust” (same mint/sea foam color) in anticipation of putting her in for the season this weekend. We got ours at a yard sale about 5 years ago. It makes me smile every time I see it! I hope yours gives you as much joy!
Nice! Fixing up my dads 1960 Whitehouse fiberglass. Rated for a 40 HP. Has a 1964 28hp Evinrude on it now. Marina said could take a modern 60. Found a 1980 50 HP Merc. Gonna fly and bring back memories!
I have one of these but its 18ft long. So thats what they should look like LOL Mine looks like it joined the Russian Navy. Its been gutted, camo painted on it, and has been used for years as a dunk hunting boat.
Nice job! Where did you find parts? I’m missing several (left and right aft chrome corners, windshield, and a few others) What is the little chrome knob to the right of the helm for? Mine isn’t connected to anything.
Starcraft, one of the best Aluminum boats on the market. My Dad owned several from 12' to 14 ' one was a 12' 1960 model year he powered it by 1956 7 1/2 HP John Holiday Bronze in color. The boat and motor worked very well together. I, noticed while underway your boat planed out perfect with two onboard. And showed plenty of power. I, also noticed that your side spray was perfect the spray was as it should be 1/2 way back from the bow. Congrats on a beautiful job. What HP was the Johnson?
Where did you get the sea foam green paint? It looks great! I have an old StarCraft that is that color. I am having a hard time finding the paint. Yours came out awesome! Please share where you got the paint and color! Thanks! Great job!

Congrats on a beautiful job. What HP was the Johnson?
It is a 1960 40HP engine
I have almost exactly same outboard motor but mines is evinrude big twin manual start can't figure out why I have hard time starting it up
love it! where did you get the front windshield replacement?
We restored the one that came with the boat.
Can you do a video of how you built your seats I bought a Starcraft with missing seats
Ours had a plank across from side to side. We replaced that and purchased boat seats. Then bolted them.
What did you use for the transom board inner hull side?
The transom was intact so we didn't replace it. It looked like plywood.

We got it from Amazon . It is Total Boat - Wet Edge. It is Sea Foam.
@@backyardboatbuilders6417 you rock! Thanks for the quick response!
What’s the LOA? Awesome job!
20 feet
Where did you get the windshield?
It came with the boat.
My windshield is beautiful other than the mounting holes are ugly. I found a fella in California. His website is called the plastics guy.
Mine dus over 30 on water .
how can a guy wear an Alabama shirt and a Tennessee shirt?
We are a house divided. He went Alabama. Guess where his children went?
