    The Knights Templar: fearless warrior monks. They ruled the battlefields of the Crusades. In today’s documentary, we’ll travel through the history of the Knights Templar, examining the most noteworthy battles of these fierce cavalrymen. Strict discipline and constant training allowed them to overcome numerically superior enemy armies.

      I'm generation 3 orphaned as tottler BECAUSE my knight's templar great grandfather's 8th duke argyll george campbell and italian-swiss banker adolph carl Von rothschild went to their deaths keeping their vow. Yet, miraculously both the gold temple treasures and the holy bloodline branches survived-- finally, its time for the knight's templar to finish our charge, duty. We will win. Gerard of Ridefort was incompetent, a coward, and a hypocrite. Gerard violated the Templar vow to not be ransomed. He allowed himself to be held prisoner rather than be executed as the other Templars were that were captured during the Battle of Hattin.

    The Battle of Arsuf was very similar in ways to the Battle of Montgisard, in that precisely timed charges by the mounted knights, acting in coordination with highly professional and excellent infantry troops, routed the Ayyubin army under Saladin. The difference to the Battle of Hattin couldn't have been greater - there the exhausted and thirsty infantry - many non- professionals put together from the villagers of the Kingdom of Jerusalem - panicked during the march on Hattin and fled to the hills, leaving the knights to fight it out alone, highly outnumbered and equally exhausted through lack of water and the terrible heat of the day. These battles show both the best and worst of crusader armies at war in the Holy Lands.

    Can someone please tell me what he uses to render the animation? Is it a screen grab of a game? Or is it a cgi program? If it's a game, I really wanna play it. Reminds me of Rome: total war.

    Should add that after the Pope and the King of France disbanded (killed) the Templars they found a home in Scotland and fought with Robert the Bruce against the English at Bannock burn a battle that once and for all sent the English home to think again 👍

      The land of Scotland is richly blessed
      with the stone of scone,and other
      amazing stories.
      Have no difficulty believing
      that a remnant of mighty
      Crusaders appeared
      at BannockBurn and
      helped to turn
      the tide of
      History!

      I'm more surprised the horses didn't just collapse from heat stroke since they are known to be very sensitive to overheating especially in dry and hot terrains.

    • @MrBottlecapBill
      @MrBottlecapBill 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be fair if you look up average temperatures in the Isrealish area, which is where most of this happens it isn't as hot as everyone thinks it is. Yes it CAN get very hot, but that's usually only during the summer which is NOT when most battles were fought unlike in Europe. Dry is the bigger killer........since of course anything military related will make you hot and dehydrated despite the weather. Before the modern era they generally went on campaign seasonally around the world. There were exceptions of course.

    *A King may move a man, a father may claim a son, but remember that even when those who move you be Kings, or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God, you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus." Or that, "Virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice. Remember that*

      It's not its Total War. But I want to start using warband. I believe they've got a new medieval mod right?

    • @nicholasramirez8417
      @nicholasramirez8417 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RealCrusadesHistory I've only ever been able to play vanilla on PS4, but if you look at some of the mods that Warband has you can make some really fine content with that. I believe the sequel, bannerlord, also has some really cool mods that replicate some of the stuff you show here. Either way you should try and if you haven't already. I'm writing a book right now and I found that game while doing my research and it turned into one of my all-time favorites. Quick edit, also what you could do with either warband or bannerlord is you could show first person footage fighting Saracens. Your video is already fantabulous and I could not make it any better, but I think that would be a really cool addition.
