This channel is so top notch in every way
turks: "we need 25,000 cavalry to win this battle"
Christians: "80 Templar Knights have reinforced us, lets attack!"
The Knight Templars we’re definitely the special forces of their time. Awesome job as always
Well said, my friend. And thanks for the endorsement.
The templers couldn’t be stopped with a same amount against them

i gave a like even before i watched it hehe. The Knights Templars were like no other and fought till the last man. Mad respect for the templars
Well I appreciate that!
The templers thought in the worse situations even turning battles around or giving up there lives for others

Is it true the KNIGHTS TEMPLAR. one of them can defeat SUPERNATURAL FORCES and they are not afraid to battle EVIL SPIRITS
I'm generation 3 orphaned as tottler BECAUSE my knight's templar great grandfather's 8th duke argyll george campbell and italian-swiss banker adolph carl Von rothschild went to their deaths keeping their vow. Yet, miraculously both the gold temple treasures and the holy bloodline branches survived-- finally, its time for the knight's templar to finish our charge, duty. We will win. All prosper exceedingly and with honour to your family forever.
spoiling us with top tier quality videos and on the knights templar no less putting this on the playlist
Templars were almost always executed after being taken prisoner because they were an army and each of them was a Rollo, highly trained and deadly and feared, any win against them was luck or just insane shear number advantage. Long live the memory of the templars, the finest soldiers europe ever produced int he old times
Have that sense of admiration aswell.
Richard the lion Heart,of that time
span,is well written of and believed
to be a military genius in every sense
of the word!
Where were they trained, for how long and by who?
Nuh uh.
@@michaelbruns449 this is "feudal" Europe, war was a constant since cave times, being noble was achieve by fidelity combine with prowess in the battlefields. Most kingdoms would have a designated battlefield spot, were different nobility houses within said kingdom, could battle their disagreements. They would start training at a very young age by older warriors of the same house.
Like polish hussars few centuries after defeated Muslims every single time. Respect
People need to think like this....not necessarily the fighting part , but the battlefield mind.
Excellent documentary, as always on this channel. Brilliant artwork, computer graphics and presentation go together to make a compelling story of the power of the Templars in the Holy Lands. I am looking forward to a similar documentary about the Hospitallers, if possible. Thanks again for the excellent work.
Truly remarkable and inspiring to hear a leprous sixteen year old king winning against all odds with fewer but determined troops 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
The best history chanel on youtube!
Amazing documentary 👏
Can only imagine all the hard work and research that went into this video.!!
Much appreciated all the way from Australia.!!
Thanks Aaron!
So I got my genealogy done and this “Norman Family” is NOT hyperbole. I’m distant cousins with all these Norman heroes with a nice sprinkling of direct ancestors mixed in. William the Conqueror is likely in your family tree if you have Norman ancestry. He’s a direct ancestor to a massive number of Europeans alive today.
Seems thoroughly researched, definitely a pleasure to watch for a history head.
This is awesome! Ive been obsessed with KT since I was a kid. These men were a different breed, unlike anything in history. Incredible yet, sad story overall but, it is fascinating.
Well said sir
Sounds like you were there buddy!
@@swiftcee266 Ha Haa! You know, I try to put myself in what I think would be the mindset of these incredible people. Its totally unreal to try and understand it, Especially riding into battle on field filled with thousands of people, knowing there was a good chance your life was over. We dont go into battle like that anymore. Incredible...
@@swiftcee266 I mostly agree but then there are these strange phrases like
"They figured out War was profitable from the get go. They accumulated over a billion in todays money" - and yet they didn't fight for profit nor did they themselves profit from that money.
"and all this without phones or the Internet!" might be surprising to today's kids but not to anyone who can remember the 20th century.
"they effectively lost Outremer to Salah ad-Din" - so they alone lost Outremer? And I think the word you meant was "in effect".
@J Nix Yes, I am.
Great work as always. I can't wait for the show brother.
Thank you! Same here!
It is not hard to believe how truly hopeless Gerard of Ridefort was and and what an absolute disaster he was for Christendom.
He sounds was an obvious traitor to me. I mean sabotage and betrayal is how the Umayyads invaded Spain so easily.
I was looking for something good to watch tonight and this is perfect. Thanks!
Glad to hear it!
In the southern regions of France, Richard Lionheart was nicknamed "Oc e Non" ("Yes and No" in Occitan language) for his supposed terseness.
He spoke little, but was precise enormously.
Then the campaign cutscenes of Richard the Lionheart's personality in 2003' "Empires: Dawn of The Modern World" were fairly accurate afterall. Cool content you should look it up.
@@TyranyFighterPatriot You come at the right time, since I recently put it in my shopping cart on GOG Galaxy ^^

Love watching through the videos this channel again recently as I haven’t for a whole . As a Christian, I love the Crusades and this long documentary on the Templar Knights should educate me more on them.
Love the Real Crusades History channel 👍✝️

Thank you too!
The Knights Templar: their horses fought in battle too. The horses were trained to Bite & Kick etc. the enemy!
All destriers (the type of horse a medieval knight rode into battle) were bred to be huge, aggressive, extremely strong and very bad tempered
I love the Templars. Looking forward to new content
The brothers that became even more
intriguing to me were in the Indiana
jones movie,where Indi or junior
and his dad set out to find the
Holy grail, and take part in the
adventure of a life time.
Loved the quote in
particular
“Mr Jones my soul

The brothers in that
particular movie were
members of a secret
order,it’s left open
as to who they
were.Unclear
as to whether
they were
Templars
or not!
Very detailed, love the editing

Christus Vincit Christus Regnat Christus Imperat!
Amazing Presentation. Next can you please do a video about the native Armenian and Lebanese Maronite Chirstians who helped the Latin Crusaders.
I only don't understand why D. Afonso Henriques I of Portugal is mentioned only once as he was a Knights Templar King. Whole of Portugal from Arcos the Valdevez (North) until Lisbon (Middle) was conquered by Afonso I of Portugal and his brothers of the Knights Templar. Portugal was created by the The Knights Templar and the first King of Portugal D. Afonso Henriques I was raised as a Knights Templar from a very Young age after his father had died.
Seems weird... Gerard makes his way into the Templars, quickly becomes grandmaster. Then is one of only 3 survivors in a massacre... Then goes on to encourage another massacre. If I was a conspiracy theorist I'd be suspicious this guy was somehow working against the order. What a coincidence he managed to survive. What are the odds?
Gerard of Ridefort was incompetent, a coward, and a hypocrite. Gerard violated the Templar vow to not be ransomed. He allowed himself to be held prisoner rather than be executed as the other Templars were that were captured during the Battle of Hattin.
After his release he was captured in 1189 at the Battle of Acre and then executed.
Might of decided better to keep him alive because an incompetent enemy is the best enemy
Generals are always promoted by who they know, not what they do. Incompetence is not a barrier to that. Gerard was obviously one of those with good connections.
33/1 ?
They slaughtered Muslims Fraulein 💯🤗🤗🤗🤗4
The crusaders were so brave like Spartans, such great fighters
Brave like Spartans but, unlike them, they had something worthwhile to defend
@@gregntavlis6521 Spartans were defending the living hell they had crested in order to better defend it.
As fir Imaginary friends - as you choose to call it - the Spartans had quite a lot of them and also fought for them.
Finally, the Templars did go around murdering either.
Wow that was good! Thank you👍

I have always loved military history also history in general and a few years back I found out I was related to the second leader of the Templar knights Jacques De Molay.
jacques de molay is the last grandmaszer not the second one

What an amazing,discovery.
To me it seems that for as long
as they were imbued with
humility as the soldiers of

unstoppable.When they
succumbed to idolatry,

This channel is a hidden gem
The Battle of Arsuf was very similar in ways to the Battle of Montgisard, in that precisely timed charges by the mounted knights, acting in coordination with highly professional and excellent infantry troops, routed the Ayyubin army under Saladin. The difference to the Battle of Hattin couldn't have been greater - there the exhausted and thirsty infantry - many non- professionals put together from the villagers of the Kingdom of Jerusalem - panicked during the march on Hattin and fled to the hills, leaving the knights to fight it out alone, highly outnumbered and equally exhausted through lack of water and the terrible heat of the day. These battles show both the best and worst of crusader armies at war in the Holy Lands.
Hopefully we see a video on the Hospitallers and Tuetonic Knights.
Well done.
Thanks!

@Real Crusades History Can you do a summary video on Easter worship during the Crusades? You already did a Christmas version 2 years back.
I don't know why but I'm proud of and happy the young king and his amazing story is known by almost all of us still and that we celebrate it like this. It would be cool if he knew somehow so he could be proud as well because I know he struggled with his illness..

Can someone please tell me what he uses to render the animation? Is it a screen grab of a game? Or is it a cgi program? If it's a game, I really wanna play it. Reminds me of Rome: total war.
I think it's a total war game
*A King may move a man, a father may claim a son, but remember that even when those who move you be Kings, or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God, you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus." Or that, "Virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice. Remember that*

Should add that after the Pope and the King of France disbanded (killed) the Templars they found a home in Scotland and fought with Robert the Bruce against the English at Bannock burn a battle that once and for all sent the English home to think again 👍
The land of Scotland is richly blessed
with the stone of scone, and other
amazing stories.

that a remnant of mighty
Crusaders appeared
at BannockBurn and
helped to turn
the tide of

I am here 😌
More entertaining than history channel.
Imagine wear that armour v and fighting in the heat of north Africa.
I'm more surprised the horses didn't just collapse from heat stroke since they are known to be very sensitive to overheating especially in dry and hot terrains.
To be fair if you look up average temperatures in the Isrealish area, which is where most of this happens it isn't as hot as everyone thinks it is. Yes it CAN get very hot, but that's usually only during the summer which is NOT when most battles were fought unlike in Europe. Dry is the bigger killer........since of course anything military related will make you hot and dehydrated despite the weather. Before the modern era they generally went on campaign seasonally around the world. There were exceptions of course.
Is this Warband footage? If so you are my hero.
It's not its Total War. But I want to start using warband. I believe they've got a new medieval mod right?
@@RealCrusadesHistory I've only ever been able to play vanilla on PS4, but if you look at some of the mods that Warband has you can make some really fine content with that. I believe the sequel, bannerlord, also has some really cool mods that replicate some of the stuff you show here. Either way you should try and if you haven't already. I'm writing a book right now and I found that game while doing my research and it turned into one of my all-time favorites. Quick edit, also what you could do with either warband or bannerlord is you could show first person footage fighting Saracens. Your video is already fantabulous and I could not make it any better, but I think that would be a really cool addition.
What do you use to make your videos? Is it a pc game?
