Ive seen a few in person now and sadly I'm not really digging the sharp blocky lines. I'd buy the GT500. $60,000 May be a deal but I'd buy something else that looks a little better.
Start up video does not do it justice. It cracks to life and puts a smile on my face every time. I thought I didn’t need it , but I worked hard and deserved it. Someday I won’t be able to physically /mentally able to drive at a top level but for now WTH. Go to the museum and drive theirs on the track.
RIGHT. Everyone just looks at, "6.2L So Massive!" completely ignoring it's only 16 valves with no overhead cam setup. My 5.0 Coyote dwarfs the 6.2 LT4 in my Z06. People underestimate how much space overhead cams take up, and more importantly, how much they weigh and affect center of gravity since they sit so high up.
Shmee has a lot of experience driving many high performance cars. I would love to hear him actually make some comparisons, such as how this car feels to drive compared to mid-engined offerings from the European brands.
yeah but shmee doesnt make this type of comparisons. Thats why he has a good relationship with a lot of brands. He never makes a bad review and that is a very nice and open car reviewer

So yes, you absolutely can compare them and stating that it's close in certain aspects would be giving it huge praise, since it's so much cheaper than the Europeans.
Obviously you know absolutely nothing about what you are talking about. This is not a budget super car. The upcoming Z06 and ZR1 are going to redefine what a super/hyper car is. Having owned 5 Corvettes, 2 Porsches, and an AMG GTS, the C7 is by far the best sports car and you won't be making trips to the dealer for repairs. C8 on order.

Having read about and seen photos of mid-engine Corvette prototypes on and off for the whole time I've been a fan, it's fantastic that Chevy has finally built one - before I die! - and it appears to be a good one at that. It's beyond my humble budget but that's not a criticism. The C8 is something to aspire to. Thanks again.

I just passed a truckload of Corvettes on I75n in Ohio. Im 100% sure the load was going to dealership Bud's in St. Mary's Ohio. Its one of the top Corvette dealers in the states.
Matt M clearly the bikes were going 120mph when the corvette pulled the U turn. What dumb ass pulls a You turn on a 2 lane double yellow around a bend especially with bikes right behind them and everyone knows bikes doesn’t have the same stopping distance as cars. The bikes did nothing wrong
I think he was speeding up for a place to turn around but the bikers thought it was a challenge and kept running up behind the car increasing there speed so the driver slowed down and stopped to turn around. If you notice whoever was driving waited for the bikers to go around him one is so close he passed the car on the right because he is following to close. If a vehicle in front whether it be a motorcycle, car, or anything else slows down whatever is behind suppose to slow down as well. I own a sports car so in my everyday driving I have times where I have to accelerate well over speed limits to get others ie other motorists off my ass. But in the idiot world that most live in the ideology is it's the drivers fault when chasing him down at 110 on a motorcycle.
i miss the circular tail lights and i think if they implemented a design that would fit well with circular tail lights, this car would look really good
I really liked the circular tail lights but considering how much this car offers for the price, I would not be upset if they didn't include any taillights in the price
My dad had the C8 just this past week. It was just the base model. But, I’ve never been so impressed with a car. For the price, it’s on par with Ferrari’s. It’s an incredible machine, and the acceleration is amazing. We got 0-60 in 3.4 seconds on very cold Michigan pavement on cold tires. Can’t wait to hear more opinions from people.
I see Aventador Ferrari Mclaren MP4-12c BMW i8 Acura/Honda NSX and a hint of Porsche Taycan. Every angle is a different car. Its a no brainer that Chevy is desperate now.

Bladed angel made a good video on what controversial cars are and arent supercars. Personally, I think certain trims of models can be, let's just wait until the C8 ZR1

@@YungEagle3k Exterior styling makes it look like an uglier version of the NSX. The interior is quite controversial. Acceleration I was just saying isn't the greatest compared to some of it's rivals, but for the price it's no disappointment.

I have been looking forward to your review of this revolutionary car and I am excited to get your impressions of it on the track. I also have to give credit to Chevy for choosing such a beautiful place (Lake Mead) and on such great roads to provide the test drives. Among the many beautiful shots in this video of the scenery and the car, I especially liked when you demonstrate the rear view camera at 18:25, the image looks like it could be from a postcard.
Putting the “ENGINE” behind the “DRIVER” doesn’t make the vehicle more valuable, it’s the “EXCLUSIVITY” of limited numbers built by hand with exotic materials and craftsmanship
Well, putting the engine in the back also makes it more exclusive, as it's now a member of a smaller club cars that look & drive that way, so moot point. Plus, you know what, that point is only really for losers that buy a midengine supercar for its exclusivity, they buy the car, cruise 5mph below speed limit to be seen in it... Impress the neighbours right? But real car guys buy a midengine supercar because it has different track-friendly driving dynamics.

Every time I see someone mention the rear view mirror with integrated camera, I just remember that Tavarish got one off Amazon for his Lamborghini that was literally the cheapest thing on the car.
Ideal location for such test drives, can't imagine having so much space and scarce traffic in my small overcrowded (Dutch) country! Such great scenery really improves the video, perfect match!
As always a great review by Shmee. This Corvette is the "dogs bollocks" as we Brits would say. The design, even without a rear spoiler it looks fantastic, the interior makes audi, porsche etc look boring. All the technology and for the price..amazing. with the Z51 package it's been tested 0-60mph at 2.8 seconds..A stunning supercar..just wait for the Z06 and ZR1 versions...

I love that color with those wheels, calipers and the body colour moldings (plus chrome badges), yet it would look even better with the natural dipped interior.
3:53 when the car was off and I saw the head unit, I was amazed. I was thinking "wow that's a massive screen. Chevrolet has really stepped up their game. But when the car was turned on, I realized that half of the screen was just black empty real estate
@@EJames22 Actually a lot of people care, it's literally what caused Aston Martin to concentrate a good amount of time in their Bespoke interior on their new generation cars. People like Ferrari because it's beautiful inside and out with a smooth ride experience...well as smooth as one can get in a sports car anyway.
I think in the z51 model the front end lift system has a memory function to remember driveways and speed bumps which is a nice feature. Nice video Tim,keep them coming. Nice car as well. You need one of these cars for shmee collection.
@Baza H I mean, I love cars, but I also realize we're screwed if we don't reduce our levels of pollution output, its just a fact. Thankfully, evs have shown economy friendly cars can still have character, be sexy, fast, fun etc. It's a unique experience but not a bad one.
Great vid , Tim. This car is a real looker and sounds very nice as well. You could buy this as well as the GT500 and store one on the east coast and one on the west coast so that you always have a vehicle when you travel to the states. I'm sure creators like Savage Garage would be more than happy to help you out with storage. For the cash, it just makes so much sense.

Actually the engine is one of the lightest engines in this power range, there are more factors to weight than just displacement.

Putting the “ENGINE” behind the “DRIVER” doesn’t make the vehicle more valuable, it’s the “EXCLUSIVITY” of limited numbers built by hand with exotic materials and craftsmanship
Well, putting the engine in the back also makes it more exclusive, as it's now a member of a smaller club cars that look & drive that way, so moot point.
Plus, you know what, that point is only really for losers that buy a midengine supercar for its exclusivity, they buy the car, cruise 5mph below speed limit to be seen in it... Impress the neighbours right? But real car guys buy a midengine supercar because it has different track-friendly driving dynamics.

Every time I see someone mention the rear view mirror with integrated camera, I just remember that Tavarish got one off Amazon for his Lamborghini that was literally the cheapest thing on the car.

Ideal location for such test drives, can't imagine having so much space and scarce traffic in my small overcrowded (Dutch) country! Such great scenery really improves the video, perfect match!
As always a great review by Shmee. This Corvette is the "dogs bollocks" as we Brits would say. The design, even without a rear spoiler it looks fantastic, the interior makes audi, porsche etc look boring. All the technology and for the price..amazing. with the Z51 package it's been tested 0-60mph at 2.8 seconds..A stunning supercar..just wait for the Z06 and ZR1 versions...

I love that color with those wheels, calipers and the body colour moldings (plus chrome badges), yet it would look even better with the natural dipped interior.

3:53 when the car was off and I saw the head unit, I was amazed. I was thinking "wow that's a massive screen. Chevrolet has really stepped up their game. But when the car was turned on, I realized that half of the screen was just black empty real estate

@@EJames22 Actually a lot of people care, it's literally what caused Aston Martin to concentrate a good amount of time in their Bespoke interior on their new generation cars. People like Ferrari because it's beautiful inside and out with a smooth ride experience...well as smooth as one can get in a sports car anyway.

@Baza H I mean, I love cars, but I also realize we're screwed if we don't reduce our levels of pollution output, its just a fact. Thankfully, evs have shown economy friendly cars can still have character, be sexy, fast, fun etc. It's a unique experience but not a bad one.

Great vid , Tim. This car is a real looker and sounds very nice as well. You could buy this as well as the GT500 and store one on the east coast and one on the west coast so that you always have a vehicle when you travel to the states. I'm sure creators like Savage Garage would be more than happy to help you out with storage. For the cash, it just makes so much sense.
